The PREMIUM2-DC includes dual Routing Engines, dual Switch Control Boards, and dual Power Entry Modules for full hardware redundancy, whereas the BASE-DC ships with a single engine, single SCB, and single PEM with optional upgrade paths.
The chassis features dual Routing Engines (REs), dual Switch Control Boards (SCBs), and dual Power Entry Modules (PEMs) that perform sub-50 ms failovers, guaranteeing uninterrupted forwarding and control-plane operations.
It supports two hot-swappable -48 V DC Power Entry Modules that can be replaced without service interruption and provide N+1 power redundancy for continuous availability.
