N3K-C3232C is a fixed 100 Gigabit Ethernet data center switch with 32 QSFP28 ports and two dedicated 10G SFP+ ports in a 1U rack chassis. Layer 2 switching is available without assuming that a routing entitlement accompanies the hardware part number. The Cisco Nexus 3232C supports server-facing and network-facing connections through fixed interfaces, with copper and optical cabling options for different link designs. Port-side intake and port-side exhaust configurations let the airflow direction match the rack layout. Ethernet expansion uses port modes and media selection rather than removable uplink cards, so the physical interface count remains a chassis choice. The hardware, routing entitlement and optical configuration are separate purchasing decisions; confirm each against the intended connection plan rather than treating the chassis PID as a complete deployment bundle.
N3K-C3232C price for new stock is $772.79, a 94.1% saving from the Cisco list price of $13,200.00. N3K-C3232C refurb price is $330.75. N3K-C3232C is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

6400 Gbps switching capacity and 3300 Mpps forwarding establish the traffic ceiling, with wire-rate forwarding specified for packets larger than 200 bytes. N3K-C3232C uses 16 MB of shared packet buffering to accommodate traffic bursts. The Nexus 3200 environment supports NX-API, Python scripting and XML management tools, while Cisco Prime Data Center Network Manager provides a centralized management interface. License inspection through show license usage distinguishes installed entitlements, active packages and honor-mode operation. PAK-based license files can be backed up separately from the configuration; copy licenses collects installed files into an archive for safekeeping, not a transferable software entitlement. The switch does not offer a license grace period. 10G connections through a QSFP28 cage require CVR-QSFP-SFP10G and an SFP+ transceiver, so the adapter and optical part must be specified together rather than treating the cage as a native SFP+ connector.
ORM offers N3K-C3232C new sealed or certified refurbished. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on, POST, every port linking at rated speed, clean boot, optics recognition, PSU status and fan status, with firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to three-year extended warranty on new units, up to one year on certified refurbished units and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply, while Cisco's original one-year hardware warranty is bounded by August 31, 2027. Specify condition, quantities and required accessories on the PO; PO accepted, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement support enterprise and volume orders, with regional stock and RMA across UK, EU, US and MEA.

When a server rollout calls for 25G host connections, QSFP28 interfaces can operate in 4 x 25G mode. Breakout changes the host-facing cable layout and interface allocation. Specify the intended port mode, host connection count and compatible media assembly before issuing the PO.
When a replacement chassis is staged against an existing PAK-based software entitlement, its license host ID must match the license file and chassis serial number. Copying the previous configuration does not establish that match. Check the entitlement records and license-file association before approving the replacement PO.
Security remedies beyond August 2025
Security remedies ended August 1, 2025, even though hardware support runs longer. N9K-C9336C-FX2 is the current replacement and increases native port density to 36.
Dynamic routing without software entitlement
OSPF, EIGRP and BGP require a routing entitlement, so an unlicensed chassis does not meet this requirement. Specify an appropriate NX-OS Essentials or NX-OS Advantage license.

N3K-C3232C identifies the Nexus 3232C chassis with 32 native 100G interfaces in a 1U enclosure. The full part number selects the switch hardware; N3K-LAN1K9 is a separate, discontinued routing-license PID, not a license suffix included in this chassis identifier.
The Nexus 3232C is managed through NX-OS CLI, its serial console, NX-API, NETCONF XML, Linux Bash and SNMP versions 1, 2 and 3. Role-based access control restricts administrative operations; the dedicated management interface is separate from the forwarding ports used for network traffic.
N3K-C3232C is discontinued, with end-of-sale on August 2, 2022, and last support on August 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended August 2, 2023, and vulnerability support ended August 1, 2025. Existing service-contract renewals close October 31, 2026; N9K-C9336C-FX2 is the current replacement.
N3K-C3232C is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties up to three years extended for new units and one year for refurbished units. Cisco's original hardware warranty is one year, bounded by August 31, 2027. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply.
N3K-C3232C supports NX-OS Essentials or NX-OS Advantage subscriptions with a three-year minimum, plus NX-OS Advantage perpetual licensing. Legacy N3K-LAN1K9 provides enhanced Layer 3 features but is discontinued. The chassis PID alone does not establish either entitlement; specify the license path separately, including on certified refurbished orders.
N3K-C3232C supports 4 x 25G operation from each QSFP28 interface, alongside native 100G operation. Breakout changes the cabling and interface layout without adding removable Ethernet cards. Specify the intended host speed, connection count and cable layout before choosing media for the fixed port configuration.
The Nexus 3232C accepts QSFP-100G-SR4-S for multimode fiber links to 100 m and QSFP-100G-LR4-S for single-mode fiber links to 10 km. QSFP-100G-SR4-S uses MPO-12; QSFP-100G-LR4-S uses LC. Match the optic, connector, fiber type and reach at both link ends before specifying the optical connection.
N3K-C3232C supports AC and DC operation; compatible AC options are NXA-PAC-650W-PE for port-side exhaust and NXA-PAC-650W-PI for port-side intake. The standard configuration has dual redundant supplies. Match the airflow choice to the fan configuration and confirm the installed pair when specifying the hardware order.
The Nexus 3232C can display installed license packages and feature usage through show license usage. PAK-based license files are tied to a chassis host ID, so a file copied from another unit is not automatically valid. Match entitlement records to the replacement chassis before deployment.
N9K-C9336C-FX2 provides 36 native 40/100G QSFP28 ports, compared with 32 native 100G QSFP28 ports on N3K-C3232C. N3K-C3232C is discontinued; N9K-C9336C-FX2 remains orderable as its replacement. Existing installations may require the older chassis for matching spares, while new purchases needing greater port density suit the successor.
