SF300-24-K9 is a Cisco Small Business 300 managed access switch with 24 fixed 10/100 ports, two dedicated Gigabit copper uplinks, and two additional 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks. Its unpowered access ports suit endpoints with separate power connections. The full-width 1U chassis belongs in a small business rack where the endpoint connections remain Fast Ethernet but the distribution handoff may use copper or fiber. Static inter-VLAN routing supplies limited routed access without an enterprise license tier. SF300-24P adds PoE output and a shared 180W budget, which makes endpoint power the principal sibling difference. The SF300-24 configuration also retains fixed uplinks; there is no empty network-module bay to populate.

12.8 Gbps switching capacity supports the model's published nonblocking port arrangement, while 9.52 Mpps forwarding states its separate 64-byte packet rate. The access ports carry data without PoE, so powered endpoints need a separate source. SF300-24-K9 carries 128 MB of CPU memory and 16 MB of flash for its embedded managed software. The switch supports static IPv4 routing, VLAN segmentation, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, SNMP, and a browser-based management path; no dedicated hardware stack ports are present. An 8 Mb aggregate packet buffer is shared among active ports. The two combo uplinks accept supported 1G optics including MGBSX1 for multimode fiber and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber, with each optic disabling its paired copper side. Fanless cooling removes a mechanical fan from this chassis. The internal 100–240V AC supply has no redundant internal bay. Confirm that the Rack-Mount 1U installation has enough clearance for the chassis and that the local power connection matches Internal AC PSU.
ORM Systems offers SF300-24-K9 new sealed and certified refurbished, with purchase orders accepted for either condition. Certified refurbished managed units are inspected, bench-tested, firmware verified, and wiped to factory default; every access and uplink port is checked for a link at rated speed. SFP bay recognition and internal PSU status are checked as part of the hardware test. Confirm the Cisco PID SRW224G4-K9, regional power connection, and required fiber optics before release. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty, refurbished units up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns subject to terms. Volume procurement can use PO terms, Net-30 for government, regional UK/EU/US/MEA stock and RMA with advance replacement; Cisco service ended 31 October 2023.

A wiring closet keeps 24 existing 10/100 endpoint connections while the access switch is replaced. SF300-24-K9 provides two dedicated 1G copper uplinks and two additional copper/SFP combo positions. Document which connections use the shared combo interfaces, verify the port map, and specify the regional power cord before issuing the purchase order.
A branch changes an existing 1G distribution handoff from copper to fiber. SF300-24-K9 has two copper/SFP combo uplinks, and the paired copper side is inactive when an SFP is used. Specify MGBSX1 for the supported multimode fiber path or MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber before the PO.
An installed Small Business 300 network needs an exact spare to preserve its Fast Ethernet port layout and saved configuration. SF300-24-K9 passed Cisco's last support date on 31 October 2023. Check the physical order number SRW224G4-K9, firmware image, rack hardware, and the replacement unit's boot state before the purchase order.
Gigabit speed at every endpoint
The 24 access ports run at 10/100, although uplinks reach 1G. Select a current Gigabit access switch if endpoints require 1G links.
Ten gigabit distribution uplinks
All built-in uplinks are 1G, including both combo SFP positions. Choose a current switch with documented 10G uplinks for a 10G distribution link.
Active Cisco service entitlement
Cisco service ended on 31 October 2023. Specify a currently supported Cisco switch when vendor maintenance or security updates are a purchasing requirement.
Switch supplied endpoint power
All 24 access ports lack PoE. Select a current PoE access model when phones, cameras, or wireless access points must draw power from the switch.

SF300-24-K9 identifies the SF300-24 24-port Fast Ethernet managed switch. Cisco's orderable hardware PID is SRW224G4-K9; the model name and the SRW ordering number refer to the same chassis family. Match the physical chassis label, region, and PoE requirement before ordering.
SF300-24-K9 is managed through its web interface and command-line access over SSH or Telnet. The Small Business 300 software also supports SNMP monitoring, VLAN configuration, and saved settings. Firmware verification and a factory-default wipe are part of ORM's certified refurbishment process for this managed unit.
SF300-24-K9 corresponds to the retired SF300-24. Cisco ended sales on 4 October 2018 and its last date of support was 31 October 2023. Existing-stock or refurbished procurement remains possible, but Cisco service and maintenance have ended. Plan spares and a non-Cisco support path for any continued deployment.
SF300-24-K9 is offered by ORM Systems new sealed or certified refurbished. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty; certified refurbished units carry up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns subject to terms. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty ceased with support on 31 October 2023.
SF300-24-K9 does not supply PoE on any of its 24 Fast Ethernet access ports. Attached phones, cameras, and access points need separate power or another powered switch. The two dedicated Gigabit copper uplinks and two combo positions carry data only; they do not change the access-port power capability.
SF300-24-K9 has four logical 1G uplink positions: two dedicated 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports and two RJ-45/SFP combo ports. The copper and SFP interfaces in each combo position share one logical port. Order MGBSX1 or MGBLX1 separately when a compatible fiber handoff is needed.
SF300-24-K9 supports static Layer 3 routing between configured VLANs as part of the Small Business 300 managed feature set. It is classed here as Layer 2+ because the published capability is static routing, not an enterprise dynamic-routing license tier. Confirm the intended VLAN and gateway configuration before commissioning.
SF300-24-K9 cannot form a hardware stack with another Small Business 300 chassis. Its 1G uplinks are ordinary Ethernet connections, and no dedicated stack interfaces or stack cable are included. Manage this unit as an independent switch and record its own configuration, power feed, and spare strategy.
SF300-24-K9 uses an internal universal AC supply rated for 100–240V. The published worst-case consumption is 17.1W under the measured operating condition. There is no second hot-swappable PSU bay. Confirm the regional cord, rack power availability, and any local electrical requirement before placing the order.
SF300-24-K9 was followed by SF350-24-K9 in Cisco's retirement notice for SF300-24. That named successor is also a legacy model, so it should not be assumed to provide current Cisco service. Compare its port speed, PoE class, uplink media, and current support status before substituting.
SF300-24-K9 has 24 unpowered Fast Ethernet access ports, while SF300-24P has 24 PoE ports with a 180W budget. Both models share the Small Business 300 management family and 1G uplink arrangement. Select the powered chassis for endpoint power; use the unpowered chassis where separate device power is already available.
