SF300-24 is a fanless, managed Layer 2+ switch with 24 Fast Ethernet access ports and fixed Gigabit uplinks for small-business networks. Two dedicated copper uplinks sit beside two combo uplinks that use either copper or SFP connections, giving four usable uplink interfaces without a removable network card. The full-width 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco Small Business 300 family and provides non-PoE access for endpoints with their own power source. The discontinued SF300-24P differs by supplying PoE to connected devices. A 24-port 10/100 managed switch with Gigabit uplinks preserves that access-speed configuration rather than turning the desktop connections into Gigabit ports; specify the endpoint link requirements accordingly.

12.8 Gbps switching capacity and 9.52 Mpps forwarding at a 64-byte packet size support wire-speed, nonblocking switching across the installed interfaces. Static IPv4 routing handles traffic between configured local subnets when routing system mode is selected, while bridging mode forwards traffic within VLANs. SF300-24 carries 128 MB of CPU memory and 16 MB of flash, with an 8 Mb packet buffer dynamically shared across all ports. A 16000-entry MAC table retains learned endpoint addresses for forwarding decisions. The Cisco 300 Series supports STP, RSTP and MSTP for spanning-tree control, with RSTP enabled by default; 4096 VLANs can be configured simultaneously. SF300-24 identifies a non-PoE Fast Ethernet model in the Small Business 300 family with 24 access ports. The 300 segment identifies the series, and 24 identifies access-port density. The corresponding ordering identifier is SRW224G4-K9, with two dedicated Gigabit copper uplinks and two Gigabit combo uplinks.
The Cisco 300 Series provides a web UI over HTTP or HTTPS, serial-console CLI, remote CLI over SSH or Telnet, and SNMP management. SSH and Telnet are disabled by default. Specify the management IP address and permitted access services during staging rather than treating these managed units as unmanaged switches.
SF300-24 is discontinued: Cisco sales ended October 4, 2018, and Cisco service ended October 31, 2023. Software maintenance ended October 4, 2019. New sealed reseller inventory does not restart those dates; plan support around the commercial coverage supplied with the order rather than the original manufacturer lifecycle.
