SF550X-24-K9 is a managed, non-PoE Fast Ethernet switch with 24 10/100 access ports and four fixed 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks in a 1U rack-mount chassis. Two uplinks are dedicated SFP+ interfaces; the other two offer shared 10GBASE-T/SFP+ connections, with copper or fiber active on each pair, not both. The Cisco 550X Series serves small-business access networks that retain 100 Mbps endpoints while carrying aggregated traffic over faster connections. Layer 2+ operation combines switching with local routing rather than restricting the device to basic traffic forwarding. The discontinued SF550X-24P-K9 adds endpoint power, whereas this model requires separately powered equipment. Cisco SF550X-24 is the corresponding model name for regional ordering and installed-base identification.

84.8 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the available interfaces. 63.09 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packets establishes the packet-rate ceiling for traffic sizing. Static routing and RIP v2 provide IPv4 path selection, while PBR directs selected traffic toward different next hops and VRRP versions 2 and 3 support redundant default gateways. SF550X-24-K9 combines 512 MB of DRAM, 256 MB of flash, and a 1.5 MB shared packet buffer for system operation, image storage, and burst handling. The address table holds 16000 MAC entries, and IPv4 routing scales to 7168 routes with 256 IP interfaces. STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP provide loop control and aggregated links; SNMPv3 and SSH support protected administration. 20.8W worst-case consumption at 220V sets the chassis power allowance without an endpoint-power allocation. A fixed internal supply means a second internal PSU cannot be added, while redundant cooling uses one operating fan and one spare.
SF550X-24-K9 is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, optics bay recognition, PSU and fan status, and clean boot; firmware is verified and configurations wiped to factory default. Specify condition, regional power requirements, and accessories on the PO; Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty and service ended June 30, 2025. Enterprise and volume orders support POs, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement.

When an existing stack combines different link speeds, hybrid stacking permits SF550X, SG550X, SG550XG, and SX550X members in the same system. Ring and chain topologies use high-speed interfaces rather than a separate uplink module. Reserve the required interconnect ports and specify matching connection media before the PO.
When several sites need the same SF550X-24-K9 baseline, text-editable configuration files and SCP-based autoconfiguration support repeatable preparation rather than manually rebuilding each unit. Smart Network Application can apply configurations across multiple switches. Define the common template, site-specific settings, and receiving-site inventory before placing the hardware order.
When a replacement must be validated before entering an existing network, dual firmware images let staging retain a second image during upgrade preparation. The front USB Type-A slot supports file and image handling without changing the access-port assignment. Specify the staging image and configuration acceptance checks before the PO.
Gigabit speeds on every access port
SF550X-24-K9 access ports stop at 100 Mbps. C1300-24T-4X is the current migration endpoint with 24 Gigabit access ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks.
PoE-powered phones and access points
SF550X-24-K9 has no PoE output, so phones, access points, and cameras cannot receive operating power through its access ports. Endpoint power must be supplied separately.
Active Cisco software maintenance
SF550X-24-K9 software maintenance ended June 18, 2021, and manufacturer support ended June 30, 2025. New sealed condition does not restore either service; the current migration endpoint is C1300-24T-4X.

SF550X-24-K9 identifies a 550X managed stackable switch with 24 Fast Ethernet access ports and fixed 10G uplinks. SF550X denotes the Fast Ethernet model family, 24 denotes access-port count, and K9 remains in regional identifiers such as SF550X-24-K9-NA, whose NA suffix covers United States orders.
SF550X-24-K9 is managed through HTTP/HTTPS, console or SSH/Telnet CLI, SNMP, and Smart Network Application. Legacy integrations include FindIT Network Manager, the embedded FindIT Network Probe, Active Advisor, and Network Plug and Play. These paths cover device configuration, network monitoring, and automated provisioning across an existing installation.
SF550X-24-K9 reached end of sale on June 18, 2020, and Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Software maintenance ended June 18, 2021. New sealed stock does not restart these milestones, so an order cannot restore Cisco software maintenance or manufacturer support.
ORM Systems offers SF550X-24-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns are 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty ended with manufacturer support on June 30, 2025.
Cisco SF550X-24 provides four fixed 10G uplinks: two dedicated SFP+ ports and two 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo pairs. Only one connector in each combo pair is active at a time. SFP-10G-SR supports multimode fiber links, while SFP-10G-LR supports single-mode fiber links; specify the required optics separately.
SF550X-24-K9 supports hardware stacks of eight members over 10G interfaces, with ring or chain connections. SF550X, SG550X, SG550XG, and SX550X can share a stack. SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M, and SFP-H10GB-CU5M provide 1 m, 3 m, and 5 m copper interconnect choices; reserve ports for the stack topology.
The Cisco 550X Series supports static routing, RIP v2, PBR, and VRRP versions 2 and 3. SF550X-24-K9 supports 7168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces. IPv6 static routing supports 1792 routes and 256 IPv6 interfaces, so IPv4 and IPv6 capacity must be sized separately.
SF550X-24-K9 uses 100-240V AC through an internal supply and does not accept a second internal PSU. Maximum draw is 20.8W at 220V. Two fans provide one operating fan plus one spare, and external redundant power connects through the rear RPS connector rather than another internal supply bay.
SF550X-24P-K9 supplies PoE+ to 24 access ports with a shared 195W budget, while SF550X-24-K9 supplies no endpoint power. Both models are discontinued. The powered version serves legacy endpoints needing switch power; the non-PoE version serves legacy equipment with separate power connections.
SF550X-48-K9 provides 48 Fast Ethernet access ports, compared with 24 on SF550X-24-K9. Both models are discontinued and retain the same access speed. The smaller model fits a legacy replacement needing fewer connections; the larger model fits an existing installation requiring the higher port count.
C1300-24T-4X provides 24 Gigabit access ports, while SF550X-24-K9 provides 24 Fast Ethernet access ports. The migration runs through discontinued SG350X-24-K9-NA or SG550X-24-K9-NA and discontinued CBS350-24T-4X-NA. Retain the older hardware only for legacy matching; choose the current successor when the access-port requirement is Gigabit rather than 100 Mbps.
Cisco SF550X-24 is a rack-mount 1U switch measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 257 mm deep, with a weight of 3.09 kg. A mounting kit is included with the original package. Confirm rack depth, cable access, and the required mounting accessories on the order.
SF550X-24-K9 has 512 MB of DRAM, 256 MB of flash, and a 1.5 MB shared packet buffer. DRAM supports system operation, flash stores firmware images, and the shared buffer handles packet bursts. The switch also supports 16000 MAC addresses for endpoint learning.
Cisco SF550X-24 has an MTBF rating of 581004 hours at 50°C and operates from 0°C to 50°C. The chassis uses two fans with one redundant fan. Compliance includes UL 60950, CSA 22.2, CE marking, and FCC Part 15 Class A for installation qualification.
