SG100-24-UK is a fanless, unmanaged Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 22 dedicated copper ports and two shared copper/fiber combo connections. Each combo connection accepts either its copper interface or its SFP interface, keeping the total at 24 simultaneous connections rather than 26. The fixed uplinks operate at 1G, and the rack-mount chassis provides non-PoE connectivity for independently powered office equipment. Within the Cisco 100 Series, this configuration serves buyers matching existing small-business installations rather than specifying a managed access switch. The complete regional identifier matters when reconciling a replacement unit with an existing equipment inventory.

48 Gbps switching capacity provides the aggregate switching reference for traffic planning, while 35.7 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets. Four hardware queues support priority-based traffic handling through priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling. Ports negotiate speed and duplex automatically, allowing compatible Ethernet equipment to connect without switch configuration. SG100-24-UK uses an internal universal AC supply, so installation planning concerns an AC power connection rather than a separate desktop adapter. The Cisco Small Business design also supports Energy Efficient Ethernet, which places an active link into a lower-power state during quiet periods. These automatic functions do not turn the unit into a configurable managed switch.
Order SG100-24-UK in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, and specify any required MGBSX1 or MGBLX1 transceivers and mounting hardware on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed links on every port, optics bay recognition and PSU status. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders can use accepted POs, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

Before replacement hardware joins an existing office network, a staging bench can exercise the 9216-byte jumbo-frame capability against the intended endpoints. Jumbo-frame support alone does not establish that every connected device uses matching settings. Include the expected endpoint configuration and a physical link-validation plan in the purchase specification.
When a small office receives replacement equipment without an onsite configuration task, installers can use System/PWR, Link/Activity and Gigabit indicators during physical acceptance. A handover checklist can record connected equipment, cable labels and observed link indicators. Specify those acceptance checks and the required installation hardware before issuing the purchase order.
Power for Ethernet endpoints
SG100-24-UK does not supply PoE. CBS110-8PP-D-UK is a partial-PoE migration option, but changes the configuration to eight ports and a desktop form factor.
Uplinks faster than 1G
SG100-24-UK limits its combo connections to Gigabit Ethernet. A requirement for faster aggregation needs different switch hardware; changing the installed transceiver does not provide higher-speed uplinks.
Cisco service for new deployments
SG100-24-UK is retired and Cisco service has ended. CBS110-24T-UK is the migration destination beyond the discontinued intermediate replacement, SG110-24-UK.

SG100 identifies the Gigabit 100 Series model, 24 identifies its total usable connections, and UK distinguishes the regional variant in SG100-24-UK. Those connections comprise 22 dedicated copper ports and two shared copper/fiber combo connections. Preserve the complete regional identifier when matching an existing equipment order or replacement unit.
SG100-24-UK operates without configuration: connect power and Ethernet equipment, and forwarding starts automatically. Speed and duplex negotiation occur at the ports without a setup task. This operating model suits a purchase specification centered on physical connectivity rather than administrator-defined switch settings or a switch configuration workflow.
SG100-24-UK is retired and no longer supported by Cisco. Its direct replacement, SG110-24-UK, is also discontinued, with a last date of support of October 31, 2026. The migration chain continues to CBS110-24T-UK; purchasing an older unit does not restart Cisco service or restore manufacturer support.
ORM offers SG100-24-UK new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are available for 30 days in either condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty has ended because Cisco service has ended.
SG100-24-UK supports 24 simultaneous connections through 22 dedicated copper ports and two combo connections. Each combo connection shares one copper interface with one Gigabit SFP slot, and only one interface in that pair operates at a time. Installing two fiber transceivers therefore replaces two copper connections rather than adding connections.
MGBSX1 and MGBLX1 are Gigabit SFP transceiver options for SG100-24-UK. MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber connections reaching 10 km. Match the selected transceiver to the installed cable and remote optical interface, and specify the required transceivers separately when the purchase includes fiber rather than copper uplink connections.
SG100-24-UK provides 48 Gbps switching capacity and a forwarding rate of 35.7 Mpps for 64-byte packets. These figures describe switching throughput and packet-forwarding performance, respectively. Neither figure increases the speed of an individual connection, which remains limited to the Gigabit Ethernet capability of the installed interface.
SG100-24-UK uses an internal universal AC power supply accepting 100-240V AC at 50-60 Hz. The chassis receives power through its AC connection rather than through an external desktop adapter. Confirm the required power cord and cabinet power connection when matching the unit to an existing installation.
SG100-24-UK has a rack-mount chassis measuring 440.6 mm wide, 44.32 mm high and 202.82 mm deep. Its fanless construction avoids a chassis fan requirement. Check cabinet clearance and the mounting hardware supplied with the selected condition before finalizing an order for an existing equipment rack.
SG100D-08P adds PoE in an eight-port desktop configuration, while SG100-24-UK provides non-PoE connectivity in a larger rack-mount chassis. Both belong to the retired 100 Series. The desktop model corresponds to an existing powered-endpoint installation; the rack model corresponds to an installation needing more connections without switch-supplied endpoint power.
SG100D-08 uses an external DC power adapter, while SG100-24-UK uses an internal universal AC supply. Both models are discontinued. The smaller desktop unit corresponds to an existing external-adapter installation; the rack model corresponds to an AC-powered cabinet installation. Verify the power arrangement when matching legacy replacement stock.
CBS110-24T-UK is the endpoint of the replacement chain, whereas SG100-24-UK is retired and unsupported by Cisco. The chain passes through discontinued SG110-24-UK. Existing equipment matching can justify considering the older unit; new procurement requiring the migration model should specify the newer one rather than the discontinued intermediate replacement.
