SG250-18-K9-NA is a fanless Layer 2+ smart switch with 16 10/100/1000 copper access ports and two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. Each combo uplink uses either its copper connector or its SFP cage, not both simultaneously. The 250 Series Smart Switches serve small-business networks connecting computers, servers and separately powered phones or wireless access points. This non-PoE, 1U rack-mount model provides configurable switching rather than unmanaged operation, with fixed uplinks instead of a removable uplink card. The discontinued SG250-26HP-K9-NA adds PoE+ output and carries 24 copper access ports, so its endpoint-power and connection requirements differ. The Cisco SG250-18 combines copper access and a choice of copper or fiber uplink connections in one chassis.

36 Gbps switching capacity provides nonblocking switching across the active Ethernet interfaces. 26.78 Mpps forwarding at a 64-byte packet size identifies the small-packet processing limit. 32 static IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces bound routed configurations. SG250-18-K9-NA has 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for switch operation and image storage, while a 12 Mb packet buffer is shared across ports. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide spanning-tree options, and LACP supports four aggregation groups with eight active ports per group. Port security can bind learned MAC addresses to interfaces, and 512 ACL rules set the filtering limit. Eight hardware queues support traffic prioritization. 13.1W worst-case consumption at 110V provides the sizing figure for circuit and UPS allocation without attached-device power. The Cisco 250 Series also supports dual firmware images for software maintenance, allowing an alternate image to remain available during an upgrade.
Specify SG250-18-K9-NA in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, and confirm the quantity and selected condition on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot and optics bay recognition; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM warranties are up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, ORM accepts POs, offers Net-30 for government and provides RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA.

When a branch rollout requires provisioning before devices reach their sites, the embedded Cisco Network Plug and Play agent supports Cisco PnP Connect. Establish the provisioning service and intended startup configuration before adding rollout quantities to the PO, rather than treating the switch as an unmanaged device.
When several sites need a common monitoring process, SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3 provide polling paths across the 250 Series Smart Switches. Version 3 supports the User-based Security Model. Define credentials, polling coverage and the management station's required version before ordering a standardized batch for those sites.
When a lab or staging bench needs packet inspection before production handover, port mirroring can copy traffic from up to 4 source ports to 1 destination port. The analyzer connection consumes a destination interface during testing. Reserve that connection and define the mirrored sources before specifying the staging configuration and equipment quantity.
Switch-powered phones and access points
SG250-18-K9-NA supplies data connections without PoE output. Phones and access points requiring switch-delivered power cannot receive their operating power from its Ethernet ports.
10G uplinks to distribution
SG250-18-K9-NA is limited to Gigabit uplinks. Neither fixed combo interface provides 10G connectivity, and the chassis has no removable uplink expansion bay.
Cisco service beyond October 2026
Cisco service for SG250-18-K9-NA ends October 31, 2026. The replacement chain reaches C1200-16T-2G through discontinued CBS250-16T-2G-NA; specify the Catalyst model for a migration order.

SG250-18-K9-NA identifies a 250 Series Gigabit Smart Switch with 18 logical ports: 16 copper access ports and 2 copper/SFP combo ports. The NA suffix selects the regional version covering the United States, Canada, Mexico and additional Latin American markets. The complete part number identifies the regional ordering variant.
The 250 Series Smart Switches support a web UI over HTTP/HTTPS, full and menu-based CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP, Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager and Cisco Active Advisor. An embedded FindIT Network Probe supports discovery. Select administrator access methods and management tools before staging configurations for multiple sites.
SG250-18-K9-NA reached end of sale on October 30, 2021, and Cisco service ends October 31, 2026. Software maintenance ended October 30, 2022. The direct replacement is discontinued CBS250-16T-2G-NA; the replacement chain continues to C1200-16T-2G. Distinguish installed-base sparing from a migration to the current model before placing an order.
ORM Systems offers SG250-18-K9-NA new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty has a 1-year power-supply limit, with service ending October 31, 2026.
SG250-18-K9-NA replaces SLM2016T-NA, the SG200-18 18-port Gigabit Smart Switch. The replacement retains an 18-port Gigabit configuration for buyers maintaining that installed base. Both are discontinued, so a new standardization project should follow the replacement chain to C1200-16T-2G rather than treat either older model as current.
The Cisco SG250-18 does not supply PoE or PoE+ power to connected devices. Phones, cameras and wireless access points attached to its Ethernet interfaces require a separate power source. The model provides Gigabit data connectivity, so an order for switch-powered endpoints needs different hardware rather than a software setting change.
SG250-18-K9-NA accepts 1G SFP transceivers in its two combo uplinks, including MGBSX1 for multimode fiber and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber. Each SFP interface shares its logical port with a copper connector. Fiber optics are ordered separately, so specify the transceiver PID and compatible fiber type for each link.
The Cisco SG250-18 supports static IPv4 routing with up to 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces. Route entries and interface assignments must both fit within those limits. Size the required routing configuration before purchase; a design that depends on dynamically learned routes needs a different routing device.
SG250-18-K9-NA is a full-width 1U rack-mount switch with a 440 mm width, 44 mm height and 202 mm depth. The unit weighs 2.08 kg and uses an internal power supply. Confirm rack clearance and the required mounting hardware and regional power cord before completing the hardware order.
SG250-18-K9-NA consumes 13.1W in the 110V worst-case measurement and 13W in the 220V measurement. These figures describe the switch's own consumption without endpoint PoE loads. Use the maximum figure when sizing the circuit or UPS allocation, and keep external power requirements for attached equipment separate.
SG250-26HP-K9-NA provides PoE+ output, whereas SG250-18-K9-NA does not power endpoints. The discontinued PoE model also has 24 copper access ports rather than 16, so it is not a port-for-port substitute. The non-PoE model serves separately powered equipment; the older PoE variant belongs in installed-base sparing decisions.
SG250-18-K9-NA uses an internal power supply, while SG250-10P-K9-NA uses an external power adapter. Both older models are discontinued. For an existing installation, the rack model suits a cord-connected replacement, while the compact model requires its matching external adapter to be included in the sparing order.
C1200-16T-2G has two dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, whereas SG250-18-K9-NA has two shared copper/SFP combo uplinks. Both configurations provide 16 Gigabit copper access ports. The discontinued SG250 model fits an existing combo-uplink installation; the current Catalyst 1200 model suits a replacement order that requires separate fiber uplink interfaces.
