SG250-10P-K9-EU is a fanless, smart-managed desktop switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ access ports and two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. Its Layer 2+ feature set combines VLAN switching with static routing for small-business networks connecting computers, IP phones, wireless access points, and cameras. Each combo uplink offers a choice of copper or fiber, with only one connection active per pair. The Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches provide browser-based administration and configurable traffic controls rather than unmanaged operation. This model also accepts power through its copper uplinks, allowing the SG250-10P to operate as a powered device as well as supply downstream endpoints. The discontinued SG250-08HP-K9-EU has a lower, 45W endpoint power budget.

20 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the available connections. 14.88 Mpps forwarding handles minimum-size packets without substituting bandwidth figures for packet-processing performance. 62W of shared PoE power is available with AC input, so endpoint demand must stay within the aggregate allocation. 32 static IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces support communication between locally configured networks. The control plane includes 512 MB of memory and 256 MB of flash, while a dynamically shared 12 Mb packet buffer absorbs traffic bursts across ports. SG250-10P-K9-EU supports HTTP/HTTPS administration, a scriptable CLI, and SNMP monitoring. STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP provide loop-control and link-aggregation options, while eight hardware queues support traffic prioritization. 85.19W maximum consumption including PoE establishes the upper electrical planning figure. The fixed uplink architecture does not provide a removable network-module bay; optical connectivity uses the existing combo cages rather than an expansion card.
Order SG250-10P-K9-EU in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying quantity, mounting requirements, and any required MGBSX1 or MGBLX1 transceivers. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links, PoE output under load, powered-device startup, optics bay recognition, and rated adapter output; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides new units with up to a 3-year extended warranty and certified refurbished units with up to 1 year, plus 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply, and Cisco service ends October 31, 2026. For enterprise and volume orders, PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA across the UK, EU, US, and MEA are available.

When an endpoint cluster must operate without a local AC outlet, upstream power determines the downstream allowance. Two PoE+ uplinks provide 22W of pass-through power, while two compatible 60W uplinks provide 50W. Specify the upstream power capability and total endpoint demand before placing the purchase order.
When several locations need the same configuration, text-editable configuration files and SCP-based autoconfiguration support repeatable staging. CLI privilege levels 1, 7, and 15 allow different administrative access levels. Define the configuration baseline, credential handling, and assigned privilege levels before ordering units for the rollout.
When a staging bench needs packet visibility before production acceptance, port mirroring can copy four source ports to one destination port. VLAN mirroring also supports four source VLANs. Reserve the analyzer connection in the connection plan and specify the required traffic captures before approving the equipment purchase.
10G uplinks to upstream equipment
The fixed uplinks operate at Gigabit speed. The existing SFP cages do not provide a 10G upgrade path, and no removable uplink card is available.
Eight simultaneous full-power PoE+ loads
Eight endpoints drawing 30W each require 240W, exceeding the shared 62W AC-powered budget. Select equipment with an explicitly sufficient aggregate power allowance.
Cisco support beyond October 2026
Cisco support ends October 31, 2026. C1200-8P-E-2G is the current migration endpoint; the intermediate CBS250-8P-E-2G-EU replacement is also discontinued.

SG250-10P-K9-EU identifies a Cisco 250 Gigabit smart switch with ten logical connections: eight PoE+ access ports and two copper/SFP combo uplinks. The SG250 designation identifies the Gigabit family, 10 reflects the connection count, P identifies the powered model, and EU selects the country/region ordering variant.
SG250-10P-K9-EU supports HTTP/HTTPS web management, a full or menu-based CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP, and Smart Network Application. Additional options include Cisco FindIT Network Manager, the embedded FindIT Network Probe, Cisco Active Advisor, and Cisco Network Plug and Play. Establish administrative credentials and the intended management method during staging.
SG250-10P-K9-EU reached end of sale on October 30, 2021, and its last date of Cisco support is October 31, 2026. Software maintenance releases ended October 30, 2022. The immediate replacement, CBS250-8P-E-2G-EU, is also discontinued; the forward migration chain ends at C1200-8P-E-2G.
ORM offers SG250-10P-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both include 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty is separate, subject to eligibility, and Cisco service ends October 31, 2026.
SG250-10P-K9-EU replaced the discontinued SG200-10FP-EU Gigabit PoE smart switch. Buyers maintaining that older installation should confirm the existing endpoint power requirements, copper or fiber connections, and management configuration before treating the replacement as interchangeable. The replacement relationship does not remove the newer model's own lifecycle limits.
SG250-10P-K9-EU provides a shared 62W PoE budget across eight powered access ports when operating from AC power. Individual ports support 30W, but all eight cannot supply that amount simultaneously. Add the endpoint requirements before ordering, and use the reduced pass-through allowance when powering the switch through its uplinks.
The SG250-10P can operate from PoE received through its copper uplinks without using AC power. Two PoE+ uplinks leave 22W for downstream devices, while two compatible 60W uplinks leave 50W. A single ordinary PoE or PoE+ uplink powers the switch but leaves no downstream PoE allowance.
The SG250-10P uses two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks, with one active medium per combo pair. MGBSX1 supports multimode fiber, while MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber. Select the transceiver for the installed fiber and remote interface; the copper and SFP sides are not additional independent connections.
SG250-10P-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing with 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces, placing its switching and routing combination in the Layer 2+ category. Layer 3 interfaces can use physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces, or loopback interfaces. Size the local routing configuration against those limits before deployment.
SG250-10P-K9-EU supplies a 62W shared PoE budget on AC power, compared with 45W for SG250-08HP-K9-EU. Both models are discontinued. The larger allowance suits replacement installations with greater combined endpoint demand; the lower-budget model belongs only in an existing configuration whose powered devices remain within its allowance.
SG250-10P-K9-EU uses an external AC adapter, while SG250-26P-K9-EU uses an internal universal AC supply. Both models are discontinued. The external-adapter model suits an existing compact installation; the internal-supply model suits replacement requirements that explicitly call for an integrated power supply rather than a separate adapter.
SG250-10P-K9-EU is discontinued, whereas C1200-8P-E-2G is the current migration endpoint after the discontinued CBS250-8P-E-2G-EU. The older model suits a specifically qualified replacement requirement. Buyers specifying a new switch rather than matching installed equipment should evaluate the current migration model and confirm its complete configuration before ordering.
Cisco 250 switches provide STP/RSTP/MSTP loop control, LACP link aggregation, and eight hardware queues for traffic prioritization. Link aggregation supports four groups with eight active ports per group, subject to the physical connections available. Configure aggregation membership, spanning-tree behavior, and traffic priorities to match the connected equipment.
SG250-10P-K9-EU is a desktop-format switch measuring 280 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 170 mm deep. Its chassis is narrower than a full-width rack switch, although rack and wall mounting are supported. Specify the intended mounting arrangement and verify that the mounting hardware is included with the selected condition.
