SG250-10P-K9-UK combines fanless operation with eight Gigabit PoE+ access ports and two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. This Layer 2+ smart-managed desktop switch connects computers, phones, wireless access points and other Ethernet endpoints in small-business networks. Each combo uplink operates through either its copper connection or its fiber cage, not both simultaneously. Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches provide VLAN segmentation, traffic prioritization and static routing without requiring a modular chassis. The discontinued SG250-08HP-K9-UK offers a lower 45W PoE budget. The SG250-10P hardware also accepts power through its copper uplinks, giving buyers a choice between local AC power and an upstream powered connection. Hardware stacking is not supported.

20 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the available network connections. 14.88 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets. 62W of shared PoE output supports allocated endpoint loads when AC-powered, with a 30W ceiling on an individual powered access port. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces; dynamic routing is not included. SG250-10P-K9-UK carries 512 MB of memory and 256 MB of flash for its embedded software and configuration. A shared 12 Mb packet buffer handles traffic across the ports. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide loop-control options, while LACP supports aggregated links. Administrators can use the browser interface or a full and menu-based CLI, with SSH available for remote access. The switch supports 255 active VLANs for traffic separation. 85.19W maximum consumption, including PoE output, provides the upper published figure for sizing the AC power allocation.
SG250-10P-K9-UK is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units, up to 1 year for refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, regional power requirements and required optics on the purchase order; Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty ends at the October 31, 2026 support boundary. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government customers receive Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement is available through UK, EU, US and MEA regional operations.

When an endpoint location must receive switch power from upstream Ethernet, the available downstream power depends on the incoming connection. Two PoE+ inputs provide 22W of pass-through power, while two 60W inputs provide 50W. Specify the upstream power capability and downstream endpoint allocation before the purchase order.
When several locations need a repeatable configuration, text-editable configuration files can be prepared centrally and downloaded to additional switches. DHCP options 66 and 67 support the provisioning workflow. Establish the configuration file, download method and site-specific settings before ordering the rollout quantity rather than treating each unit as an independent installation.
When a staging bench needs to observe endpoint traffic before installation, port mirroring can send traffic from four source ports to one destination port. The capture connection occupies a network port during testing. Identify the monitored connections and reserve the analyzer destination when specifying the staging equipment order.
10G uplinks to upstream switches
SG250-10P-K9-UK uplinks stop at 1GbE, and the fixed combo interfaces cannot accept a removable uplink card to add faster network connections.
Maximum PoE+ output on every port
The shared 62W output cannot supply 30W simultaneously to all eight powered access ports. Endpoint allocations must remain within the budget available from the selected power input.
Cisco support beyond October 2026
Cisco support ends October 31, 2026. C1200-8P-E-2G is the current migration endpoint through the discontinued CBS250 replacement, retaining eight Gigabit access ports and two Gigabit combo uplinks.

SG250-10P-K9-UK identifies the regional ordering form of the SG250-10P Gigabit PoE Smart Switch. SG250 names the Gigabit 250 family, 10 covers eight access ports plus two combo uplinks, and P identifies the powered model. UK selects the region covering the United Kingdom and several additional markets.
SG250-10P-K9-UK supports a web interface, full or menu-based CLI over SSH or Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3. Additional management paths include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility and Cisco Active Advisor. Select the management workflow before staging.
SG250-10P-K9-UK provides a shared 62W PoE budget across eight powered access ports when using AC power, with 30W available to an individual port. The total does not support every port at its individual maximum simultaneously. Add the endpoint power allocations before selecting the connected device population.
Yes, SG250-10P-K9-UK can receive power through its copper combo uplinks, but downstream PoE availability changes with the input. Two PoE+ inputs provide 22W of pass-through output; two 60W inputs provide 50W. A single PoE+ input powers the switch without providing downstream PoE output.
MGBSX1 and MGBLX1 are supported Gigabit fiber options for the SG250-10P uplinks. MGBSX1 serves multimode fiber links to 500 m, while MGBLX1 serves single-mode fiber links to 10 km. Each SFP connection shares its interface with a copper connection, so specify the intended medium and matching remote optic.
Yes, SG250-10P-K9-UK supports static IPv4 routing with 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces. The switch can use a VLAN interface as a routing interface, but dynamic routing is not included. Treat the platform as Layer 2+ and check the required route and interface counts before deployment.
SG250-10P-K9-UK reached end-of-sale on October 30, 2021, and its last date of Cisco support is October 31, 2026. The direct replacement, CBS250-8P-E-2G-UK, is also discontinued. The forward migration chain ends at C1200-8P-E-2G, so distinguish legacy replacement stock from a current-generation purchase.
SG250-10P-K9-UK replaces SG200-10FP-UK, the older 10-port Gigabit PoE Smart Switch. That relationship is relevant when identifying legacy equipment or building a spare requirement, but it does not establish that an existing configuration can be imported unchanged. Confirm the actual port assignments, endpoint loads and configuration before substitution.
SG250-10P-K9-UK provides a 62W PoE budget, whereas SG250-08HP-K9-UK provides 45W. Both are discontinued models. For an existing estate, the former accommodates a larger aggregate endpoint power allocation; the latter corresponds to installations whose powered devices fit within the lower budget. Neither budget means every port can supply maximum power simultaneously.
SG250-10P-K9-UK uses an external AC adapter, while SG250-26P-K9-UK uses an internal AC supply. Both are discontinued. The former suits an existing compact installation with an external power connection; the latter corresponds to a full-width installation with internal power. SG250-26P-K9-UK also has a materially different access-port count.
SG250-10P-K9-UK is discontinued, while C1200-8P-E-2G is the current endpoint of its replacement chain through the discontinued CBS250-8P-E-2G-UK. Both configurations provide eight Gigabit access ports and two Gigabit combo uplinks. The former addresses legacy matching requirements; the latter is the migration option for a current-generation purchase.
No, the SG250-10P has a desktop chassis measuring 280 mm wide, 44 mm high and 170 mm deep, with a weight of 1.2 kg. Desktop, wall and rack mounting are supported installation options, but the chassis itself is narrower than a full-width 19-inch rack switch. Confirm mounting hardware with the order.
No, Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches do not provide hardware stacking. Network-level discovery and management do not combine separate switches into a hardware stack. Plan each SG250-10P as an independent forwarding device, and specify its uplink connections rather than ordering stacking adapters or stacking cables for the installation.
ORM Systems offers SG250-10P-K9-UK new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns are 30 days in either condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by October 31, 2026, its last support date.
