SG250-08HP-K9-NA is a fanless, smart-managed desktop switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports and Layer 2+ static routing capabilities. Its copper connections serve both endpoints and upstream connectivity; there are no dedicated fiber uplinks or removable uplink modules. The Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches support small-business networks connecting computers, IP phones, wireless access points, and cameras. The discontinued SG250-08-K9-NA provides the nearest non-PoE comparison, retaining eight Gigabit connections without supplying endpoint power. This 8-port Gigabit PoE+ smart switch combines configurable switching with a compact chassis rather than a full-width rack enclosure.

16 Gbps switching capacity and 11.9 Mpps forwarding support wire-speed traffic handling. 45W of shared PoE power permits individual ports to supply 30W only while the aggregate allocation remains within that budget. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes, allowing limited inter-VLAN routing without dynamic route exchange. SG250-08HP-K9-NA carries 512 MB of memory, 256 MB of flash, and a dynamically shared 12 Mb packet buffer. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide loop-control options, while LACP supports aggregated connections. Browser configuration and a scriptable CLI provide local administration, with network-level monitoring available through Smart Network Application. Dedicated hardware stacking is not part of this compact switch configuration.
Specify SG250-08HP-K9-NA in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, with the required quantity and condition on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed links at every port, and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM warranties are up to 3 years extended for new hardware and up to 1 year for certified refurbished hardware, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco’s limited lifetime warranty remains subject to eligibility and ends July 31, 2027. Enterprise and volume orders can use POs, government buyers receive Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement is available across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When a small site needs local communication between segmented workgroups, the limit of 16 IP interfaces becomes an early sizing check. Map the required routed interfaces before choosing the switch, then specify the intended addressing and segmentation requirements on the purchase order.
When several sites require the same configuration, SCP configuration downloads and text-editable configuration files support a repeatable staging process. Prepare the approved configuration before equipment ships, separate site-specific settings from shared settings, and specify whether each order is for staging or direct delivery.
Dedicated fiber or 10G uplinks
Eight copper Gigabit ports are the complete connection set. No SFP cages, 10G interfaces, or removable uplink bay are available for a fiber or faster upstream connection.
Maximum PoE power on every port
The shared 45W power allocation cannot supply the 30W per-port maximum simultaneously across all eight ports. Endpoint power requirements must fit the aggregate budget.
Cisco support beyond July 2027
Cisco support ends July 31, 2027. The discontinued replacement, CBS250-8PP-D-NA, has no current migration product, so this replacement chain does not provide a current successor.

SG250-08HP-K9-NA identifies the Gigabit 250 family’s eight-port PoE+ model with a 45W budget. The 08HP model designation distinguishes this powered configuration. NA selects the regional ordering version covering the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and other Latin American markets.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA supports HTTP/HTTPS browser configuration, full and menu-based CLI over SSH/Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, Cisco FindIT Network Manager, an embedded FindIT Network Probe, and Cisco Active Advisor. These provide local administration, monitoring, and multi-device management paths.
Yes, SG250-08HP-K9-NA reached end of sale July 30, 2022, and its last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. Its replacement, CBS250-8PP-D-NA, is also discontinued and has no current migration product.
ORM Systems offers SG250-08HP-K9-NA new sealed and certified refurbished, with new warranties up to 3 years extended and refurbished warranties up to 1 year. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco’s limited lifetime hardware warranty is subject to eligibility and ends with Cisco support July 31, 2027.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA provides a shared 45W PoE budget across eight PoE+ ports, with a maximum of 30W on an individual port. The aggregate allocation remains the controlling limit. Eight connected powered devices cannot each receive the per-port maximum simultaneously, so endpoint loads must be checked together.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA supports static IPv4 routing with 32 static routes and 16 IP interfaces. These capabilities place this configuration in the Layer 2+ category. Routed interfaces can use physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces, or loopbacks, so the required interface layout should be established before configuration.
The Cisco 250 eight-port PoE+ switch supports desktop placement and wall mounting, not rack mounting. Its chassis measures 160 mm wide, 30 mm high, and 128 mm deep. Specify a desktop or wall location and allow space for cabling and the external power connection.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA uses an external AC adapter accepting 100-240V AC at 50-60 Hz. Maximum consumption with PoE is 61.4W at 110V or 59.8W at 220V. These input figures include switch operation and powered loads; they are separate from the power available to endpoints.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA replaced SLM2008PT-NA, the SG200-08P eight-port Gigabit PoE smart switch. SLM2008PT-NA reached end of sale October 4, 2018, and Cisco support ended October 31, 2023. The newer SG250 model is itself discontinued, so this is a historical replacement relationship rather than a current-generation recommendation.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA supplies PoE+ to connected endpoints, while SG250-08-K9-NA does not supply endpoint power. Both are discontinued eight-port Gigabit configurations. The powered model addresses phones, cameras, and access points requiring switch-delivered power; the non-PoE model addresses independently powered endpoints. Neither should be treated as current-generation hardware.
SG250-08HP-K9-NA uses external AC power, whereas SG250-26HP-K9-NA has an internal universal AC supply. Both models are discontinued. The external-power configuration suits an order retaining a separate power adapter; the internal-power configuration suits an installation requiring mains power to connect directly to the switch chassis.
SG250-10P-K9-NA adds two Gigabit copper/SFP combo connections that SG250-08HP-K9-NA lacks. Each combo connection uses either copper or SFP, not both simultaneously. Both models are discontinued. The eight-port configuration suits copper-only connectivity; the ten-port configuration addresses an installation needing separate Gigabit combo uplink connections.
