SG250-26HP-K9 is a smart-managed Layer 2+ switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ access ports and two fixed 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks. The Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches range serves SMB networks connecting computers, IP phones, wireless access points, and surveillance equipment. Each combo uplink supports either copper or fiber, with one connection active at a time. The SG250-26HP configuration occupies one rack unit and uses internal AC power rather than an external adapter. For installed-base comparisons, the discontinued SG250-26P-K9-NA carries a higher 195W PoE budget. Both configurations use fixed uplinks rather than removable uplink cards.

52 Gbps switching capacity supports wire-speed, nonblocking operation, while 38.69 Mpps forwarding handles 64-byte packets. STP/RSTP/MSTP provides spanning-tree control, and LACP supports four aggregation groups with eight active ports per group. 100W of shared PoE capacity requires allocation across connected powered devices. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces for bounded inter-network connectivity rather than dynamic route exchange. SG250-26HP-K9 contains 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash, with a 12 Mb packet buffer shared across ports. Support for 255 active VLANs provides traffic separation, while eight hardware queues handle traffic prioritization. Browser configuration offers basic and advanced modes; SNMP supports external monitoring. 135.2W maximum consumption, including PoE, provides the equipment-load figure for upstream power sizing rather than treating the endpoint budget as total AC demand.
Specify SG250-26HP-K9 as new sealed or certified refurbished, and confirm the regional power cord, mounting kit, and required optics on the purchase order. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, PO accepted, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement are available across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When adding powered phones, wireless access points, or cameras to an existing wiring closet, size each endpoint against the 30W per-port ceiling rather than assuming equal allocations. Startup demand and combined endpoint consumption determine the power plan; include individual device power requirements with the purchase order.
When preparing a spare before a maintenance window, dual firmware images allow an alternate image to remain available during release validation. Configuration transfers support SCP for staging the intended settings. Specify the required firmware baseline, then check the alternate image and saved configuration before the purchase order is finalized.
When several small sites need consistent administrative controls, Textview CLI provides privilege levels 1, 7, and 15, while text-editable configuration files can be downloaded to another switch. Establish the access policy and configuration template before releasing quantities, and include the required administrative roles in the purchase specification.
10G uplinks to distribution
The two fixed combo uplinks operate at 1G, not 10G. SFP+ transceivers cannot increase their supported speed, and no removable uplink card provides an upgrade path.
Maximum PoE+ on every access port
The shared 100W budget cannot supply 24 ports at 30W simultaneously. That endpoint load requires 720W; hardware must provide an aggregate PoE budget covering the required allocation.
Cisco service beyond October 2026
Cisco service ends October 31, 2026. The direct replacement, CBS250-24PP-4G-NA, is also discontinued, and its replacement chain has no current migration product.

SG250-26HP-K9 identifies a 250 Series Gigabit PoE+ switch with 24 access ports and two combo uplinks. The 26-port total includes those uplinks, while HP distinguishes the 100W configuration from the 195W configuration. SG250-26HP-K9-NA is the regional ordering form for the United States.
SG250-26HP-K9 supports HTTP/HTTPS web management, Textview CLI over SSH or Telnet, and SNMP. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager, embedded FindIT Network Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, and Cisco Active Advisor. Cisco Network Plug and Play supports provisioning; available access methods depend on firmware and enabled services.
SG250-26HP-K9 provides a shared 100W PoE budget across 24 powered access ports, with a 30W maximum on an individual port. The aggregate budget prevents every port from delivering its individual maximum simultaneously. Endpoint selection therefore requires both a per-device power check and a combined-load check.
SG250-26HP-K9 provides two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks, each supporting one active medium at a time. Copper and fiber connections within the same combo pair do not operate as separate simultaneous ports. The uplinks remain 1G connections regardless of whether copper cabling or compatible fiber optics are selected.
SG250-26HP-K9 supports static IPv4 routing with 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces, making its feature classification Layer 2+. Routed interfaces can use physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces, or loopback interfaces. Plan the required interfaces and static destinations within those limits before standardizing the configuration.
The SG250-26HP configuration requires one rack unit and measures 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 257 mm deep, with a weight of 3.37 kg. Its chassis uses active cooling. Check cabinet depth, cable clearance, and mounting-kit inclusion when specifying a replacement or spare unit.
SG250-26HP-K9 does not support hardware stacking, so separate units remain independently forwarding switches rather than members of one hardware stack. Network-level monitoring or configuration tools do not change that limitation. Specify individual switch quantities and inter-switch Ethernet connections rather than stacking kits or dedicated stacking cables.
SG250-26HP-K9 is discontinued, with end of sale on October 30, 2021, and Cisco service ending October 31, 2026. Its direct replacement, CBS250-24PP-4G-NA, subsequently reached end of sale on October 29, 2024. That replacement has no current migration product, so it is not a current successor.
ORM Systems offers SG250-26HP-K9 new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by October 31, 2026, with separate 1-year fan and power-supply coverage; Cisco service ends that date.
SG250-26HP-K9 has a 100W PoE budget, while SG250-26P-K9-NA provides 195W for the same access-port quantity. Both models are discontinued. For installed-base matching, the HP configuration corresponds to lower aggregate endpoint demand, while the P configuration accommodates a larger combined allocation without changing the access-port count.
SG250-26HP-K9 provides 24 access ports, whereas SG250-50HP-K9-NA provides 48 access ports. Both models are discontinued. This density difference matters when matching an existing cabinet's patching requirements: the smaller configuration corresponds to fewer endpoint connections, while the larger configuration serves an installed layout requiring twice the access-port quantity.
SG250-26HP-K9 uses two 1G combo uplinks, while SG250X-24P-K9-NA has four 10G uplinks comprising two copper connections and two SFP+ connections. Both models are discontinued. For existing-network matching, the former corresponds to Gigabit uplink designs, while the latter corresponds to installations already requiring 10G upstream connectivity.
