WS-C3560X-48P-E identifies a standalone Catalyst 3560-X switch: WS-C3560X is the family prefix, 48 specifies the access-port count, P identifies PoE+ ports, and E specifies IP Services. The configuration includes Gigabit copper access ports and C3KX-PWR-715WAC, while the uplink module is selected separately.
WS-C3560X-48P-E supports CLI management through its console connections and remote SSH or Telnet, plus SNMP, a PC-based configuration tool and CiscoWorks LMS. Console connectivity includes RJ-45 and USB Type-B paths. SSH and cryptographic SNMPv3 require the appropriate cryptographic software image; an Ethernet management port provides out-of-band connectivity.
WS-C3560X-48P-E ended sale on October 30, 2016, and Cisco support ended October 31, 2021. Security support ended October 30, 2019. Its original replacement, WS-C3650-48PD-E, is also discontinued and reaches its last support date October 31, 2026; the migration chain continues to C9300L-48P-4X-A.
WS-C3560X-48P-E replaces WS-C3560E-48PD-E and WS-C3560G-48PS-E, both of which ended sale January 30, 2013. Those predecessor models are discontinued, and the 3560-X replacement is also discontinued. A legacy replacement order must specify its separate uplink configuration rather than assuming the predecessor's uplink hardware transfers to the newer chassis.
IP Services comes with WS-C3560X-48P-E, and Cisco IOS enables that feature set through its installed license file. LAN Base and IP Base are the lower feature sets in the family. IP Services upgrades include factory, paper and electronic license paths; confirm the installed entitlement when ordering previously owned hardware.

WS-C3560X-48PF-E provides an 800W single-supply PoE budget, compared with 435W for WS-C3560X-48P-E. Both retain 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports and IP Services, and both are discontinued. For legacy replacements, the PF configuration suits higher aggregate endpoint demand, while the P configuration matches installations sized within its smaller power allocation.
