Fanless Network Access for Small Business Endpoints

SF352-08P-K9 is a fanless, managed desktop switch with eight 10/100Mbps PoE+ access ports and two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. Its Layer 2+ feature set combines Ethernet switching with static routing for small-business networks. Each combo uplink provides a choice of copper or fiber connectivity, not two independent connections. Within the Cisco 350 Series Managed Switches, this configuration serves powered endpoints such as IP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras that operate within Fast Ethernet access speeds. The discontinued SF352-08MP-K9-NA increases the available endpoint-power allowance to 128W without changing the access-port count. The desktop chassis uses passive cooling rather than fans, while its fixed uplink architecture requires no removable network card.

Technical Details

5.6 Gbps switching capacity and 4.17 Mpps forwarding support wire-speed traffic handling across the installed interfaces. 62W of shared PoE power must cover the combined allocation to attached powered devices. Static IPv4 routing and PBR provide local forwarding control without a dynamic routing feature set. SF352-08P-K9 carries 512 MB of memory and 256 MB of flash for its management software and configuration storage. A dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer accommodates traffic across the ports rather than reserving a separate buffer for each connection. STP, RSTP and MSTP support loop-control configurations, while LACP provides negotiated link aggregation. The SF352-08P also supports voice VLAN configuration, DHCP snooping and access control lists for endpoint segmentation and admission policies. 79.3W maximum consumption, including PoE loading, provides the equipment-power figure to use when sizing the AC circuit or backup-power allocation. An external AC adapter supplies operating power.

Ordering

SF352-08P-K9 is offered new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to a 1-year warranty; Cisco's separate limited lifetime coverage is bounded by its January 31, 2028 service end date. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with power-on and POST checks, rated-speed links on every port, PoE output verified under load on every powered port, a clean boot, firmware verification and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and regional requirements on the PO; both conditions carry 30-day returns, with terms applying. Enterprise and volume orders can use accepted POs, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

Best For

Legacy Spare Replacement

When replacing a discontinued SF302-08PP-K9-NA, an existing site may require a successor that preserves the same general endpoint role. The North American replacement is SF352-08P-K9-NA. Before issuing the PO, reconcile the failed unit's complete regional identifier, endpoint requirements and configuration requirements with the proposed spare.

Endpoint Power Allocation

When adding powered endpoints, individual port capability must not be mistaken for the available system allowance. A powered port can deliver 30W, but endpoint requests compete for shared power. List each device's requested allocation, account for simultaneous operation, and approve the complete power schedule before ordering.

Lab and Staging

When a replacement must enter an established configuration workflow, the switch's two software-image locations support firmware staging before installation. Configuration files can also be edited and downloaded to another unit. Include the intended image, configuration baseline and acceptance checks in the staging instructions before releasing the purchase order.

Not Suitable If

Gigabit connections for every endpoint

The eight access ports are limited to 100Mbps. C1300-8P-E-2G provides eight Gigabit access ports and is the current endpoint of the replacement chain.

Simultaneous 30W on every powered port

Eight endpoints requesting 30W require 240W, exceeding the shared 62W allowance. Specify equipment whose total PoE budget covers the complete simultaneous endpoint load.

10G uplinks to distribution

The two combo uplinks operate at 1Gbps and cannot provide 10G connections. A mandatory 10G distribution link requires a different switch with higher-speed uplinks.

Questions & Answers

What does the SF352-08P-K9 part number identify?

SF352-08P-K9 identifies the SF352-08P managed Fast Ethernet model with two Gigabit combo uplinks. The 08 denotes eight access ports, and P identifies PoE+ capability. The complete North American ordering form is SF352-08P-K9-NA; the regional suffix should remain on the purchase order.

How is the Cisco 350 Series managed?

The Cisco 350 Series supports an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, Textview CLI through console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3. Management integrations also include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded probe, and Cisco Active Advisor. Select the administration and monitoring methods before staging.

Is SF352-08P-K9 discontinued?

SF352-08P-K9 is discontinued, with North American units reaching end of sale on January 29, 2023. Software maintenance ended January 29, 2024, and the last date of support is January 31, 2028. These milestones distinguish the end of Cisco sales from the remaining service window for eligible hardware.

What condition and warranty options does ORM offer for SF352-08P-K9?

ORM offers SF352-08P-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished with up to 3-year extended or 1-year warranties, respectively. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime warranty includes next-business-day advance replacement where available, but Cisco service ends January 31, 2028, subject to eligibility and warranty terms.

Which older switches does SF352-08P-K9 replace?

SF352-08P-K9 replaces discontinued SF302-08PP-K9-AU, SF302-08PP-K9-EU, SF302-08PP-K9-JP, SF302-08PP-K9-NA and SF302-08PP-K9-UK through matching regional forms. Those older switches reached end of sale on October 4, 2018. Preserve the complete regional identifier when comparing an installed unit with its replacement rather than matching only the abbreviated model name.

How much PoE power does SF352-08P-K9 provide?

SF352-08P-K9 provides a shared 62W PoE budget across eight powered access ports, with a 30W per-port ceiling. Eight simultaneous 30W allocations would require 240W, so the switch cannot supply that combination. Size the order against the aggregate endpoint allocation rather than multiplying port count by individual capability.

How many uplinks does SF352-08P-K9 have?

SF352-08P-K9 has two Gigabit combo uplinks, each offering an RJ-45 connection or an SFP connection. Only one medium is active within each combo pair. Fiber choices include MGBSX1 for multimode fiber and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber; specify the required transceivers separately from the switch.

Which routing functions does the SF352-08P support?

The SF352-08P supports static IPv4 routing and PBR, with capacity for 990 static routes and 128 IP interfaces. Routing interfaces can use physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopback interfaces. Treat the switch as a static-routed access device rather than selecting it for dynamic routing requirements.

What power connection does SF352-08P-K9 require?

SF352-08P-K9 uses an external AC adapter supplied from a 100-240V AC source. Include the adapter and appropriate regional mains connection in the order scope rather than specifying an internal power-supply module. Confirm the complete regional ordering identifier when matching a replacement unit to its intended destination.

What is the difference between SF352-08P-K9 and SF352-08MP-K9-NA?

SF352-08P-K9 shares 62W of PoE power, while the discontinued SF352-08MP-K9-NA allocates 128W. That difference changes the combined powered-endpoint load each model can accommodate. For legacy fleet matching, the 62W model serves lower aggregate allocations, while the 128W variant serves sites needing a larger shared power allowance.

What is the difference between SF352-08P-K9 and SF350-24P-K9-NA?

SF352-08P-K9 provides eight Fast Ethernet access ports, while the discontinued SF350-24P-K9-NA provides 24. The comparison concerns endpoint density rather than a change in access speed. The smaller model suits a limited legacy endpoint group; the 24-port model addresses a larger legacy patching requirement in one chassis.

What is the difference between SF352-08P-K9 and C1300-8P-E-2G?

SF352-08P-K9 has eight 100Mbps access ports, whereas C1300-8P-E-2G has eight Gigabit access ports. The replacement chain passes through discontinued CBS350-8P-E-2G-NA before reaching C1300-8P-E-2G. The older switch suits matching Fast Ethernet spares; the current successor suits purchases requiring Gigabit endpoint connections rather than retaining the legacy access-speed limit.
