SFE1000P provides fanless, managed Layer 2 switching through eight 10/100 Ethernet PoE access ports and two fixed Gigabit combo uplinks. Each uplink offers a copper connection or a shared SFP connection, rather than two independently usable interfaces. The desktop chassis belongs to the Cisco Small Business Managed Switches family and serves powered endpoints such as IP phones, wireless access points and cameras. This Fast Ethernet PoE desktop switch separates endpoint connectivity from higher-speed upstream connections without requiring a removable uplink card.

5.6 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking traffic handling, while 4.17 Mpps forwarding accommodates line-rate packet processing. A 60W shared PoE budget requires endpoint power allocation rather than simultaneous maximum draw on every powered port. SFE1000P supports STP/RSTP/MSTP for loop prevention and LACP for link aggregation. Network segmentation accommodates 256 active VLANs, and four hardware queues provide traffic-priority separation. These controls support switching and traffic handling; they do not make the device an inter-VLAN router. Fanless cooling eliminates an internal fan from the maintenance checklist.
Specify SFE1000P in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, together with the required quantity and regional power connection. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, the supplied adapter tested for rated output, firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, PO is accepted, Net-30 is available for government, and RMA includes advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA regional stock/RMA operations.

When adding powered endpoints with different operational priorities, the switch can assign Critical, High or Low PoE priority to individual connections. Lower-priority devices can be denied power when supply capacity is constrained. Identify the endpoint priority assignments and expected draw before specifying the powered-device mix on the purchase order.
When purchasing equipment for configuration staging, changes must survive a restart before acceptance. The switch maintains separate running, startup and backup configuration files; running changes disappear after reboot unless saved. Include configuration saving, restart verification and restoration requirements in the acceptance plan before placing the order.
Gigabit connectivity at every access port
SFE1000P endpoint ports operate at 10/100 Mbps, not Gigabit speed. The separate Gigabit uplinks do not increase the native speed of those access connections.
30W PoE+ endpoint power
SFE1000P provides IEEE 802.3af PoE with a 15.4W per-port maximum. Endpoints requiring 30W PoE+ exceed its supported powered-port capability and require different switching hardware.

SFE1000P identifies Cisco's 8-port 10/100 Ethernet switch with PoE. The numerals must not be interpreted as Gigabit endpoint speed: the access connections are Fast Ethernet, with separate Gigabit uplinks. Use the complete part number when matching replacement stock rather than substituting a similar-looking model identifier.
SFE1000P supports WebView browser management over HTTP/HTTPS, console access, SSH, Telnet and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. Browser management handles configuration and monitoring, while remote sessions and SNMP accommodate existing administration tools. Access profiles can restrict management connections according to their source and access method instead of permitting unrestricted administrative access.
SFE1000P has a shared 60W PoE budget, with individual powered ports supporting allocations up to 15.4W. The budget is not sufficient for every powered port to operate at that individual maximum simultaneously. Endpoint sizing must account for aggregate demand, not simply the number of available PoE connections.
SFE1000P provides two Gigabit combo uplinks, each pairing a 10/100/1000 RJ-45 interface with a shared SFP slot. The copper interface and SFP slot in each pair represent alternative connections, not additional independent uplinks. A connection plan therefore has two uplink interfaces available, regardless of the selected media.
SFE1000P provides Layer 2 VLAN switching rather than inter-VLAN routing. Communication between separate VLANs requires a Layer 3 router working at the protocol level. VLAN membership can separate traffic on the switch, but creating those VLANs alone does not establish routed connectivity between their attached endpoints.
SFE1000P is a compact desktop switch measuring 305 mm wide, 44 mm high and 170 mm deep. Rack installation uses mounting hardware rather than a full-width chassis. Its placement requirements therefore differ from a standard full-width switch, even though the enclosure height may resemble other rack-installed networking equipment.
The SFE1000P managed PoE switch requires running configuration changes to be copied to the startup configuration for persistence after reboot. Running, startup and backup files serve different purposes. A restart restores startup settings, so an apparently successful configuration session does not by itself establish that changes have been retained.
The SFE1000P Cisco Small Business switch supports 256 active VLANs within a 4096-VLAN range. Active VLAN capacity is distinct from the available identifier range. Network segmentation plans must fit within the active limit rather than treating every possible VLAN identifier as a simultaneously configurable network on the device.
ORM offers SFE1000P new sealed and certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Returns are 30 days in every condition; terms apply. Cisco originally provided a 5-year limited hardware warranty; that historical term does not establish current Cisco coverage.
SFE1000P should be treated as a legacy retired-product purchase because its former Cisco product and datasheet addresses redirect to the retired-switches listing. A model-specific end-of-sale date, last-support date and replacement PID could not be verified. The available retirement information is insufficient to state those dated milestones accurately.
