SFE2000P is a managed Layer 2+ access switch with 24 Fast Ethernet PoE ports, fixed Gigabit uplinks and a 1U rack-mount chassis. Two uplinks are dedicated copper connections, while another two offer shared RJ-45 or SFP connectivity for copper or fiber links. IEEE 802.3af power serves compatible powered endpoints without separate endpoint adapters. Within the Cisco Small Business range, the discontinued SFE2000 provides the corresponding non-PoE configuration. The SFE/SGE Stackable Managed Switches family addresses small-business networks that need configurable switching rather than unmanaged connectivity. The access connections remain slower than the uplinks, an important distinction when matching an installed network or evaluating endpoint bandwidth requirements.

12.8 Gbps switching capacity provides nonblocking switching, while 9.5 Mpps forwarding handles 64-byte packets. 180W of shared PoE output requires endpoint allocations rather than assuming every powered device can draw its per-port maximum simultaneously. Static routing supports manually configured inter-VLAN paths, with 128 static routes available. SFE2000P supports WebView administration, a serial console, Telnet, SSH and SNMP for local and network-based management. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide spanning-tree options, and LACP supports link aggregation. Traffic controls include four priority queues, strict priority and weighted round robin scheduling, rate limiting, and multicast, broadcast and unknown-unicast storm control. An 8000-entry MAC address table supports learned endpoint addresses, while 256 VLAN groups provide traffic segmentation. The universal internal AC supply accepts 100–240V input, with redundancy dependent on an external power connection rather than a second internal supply. 225W consumption under the powered-load condition must be included when sizing upstream power and UPS capacity.
ORM Systems offers SFE2000P new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, firmware verified and wiped to factory default. Testing covers power-on and POST, clean boot, every port linking at rated speed, PoE output under load on every powered port, optics bay recognition, PSU status and fan status. Specify condition, quantity and optics on the PO: new units carry up to a 3-year extended warranty, certified refurbished units up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns, terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, government Net-30 and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA in UK, EU, US and MEA.

An endpoint refresh retaining existing powered devices needs port priorities established before energizing the switch. PoE settings accept allocations from 0 to 15400 mW and can deny lower-priority devices when power is limited. Record each endpoint's requested allocation and startup requirements, then specify the intended power priorities before the PO.
An existing stack expansion needs a deliberate control layout rather than another independent configuration. Stack IDs 1 and 2 designate master-enabled units, and the master maintains the configuration. Automatic or manual numbering is available. Check the intended master and backup positions, then specify each unit's role before the PO.
A spare being staged for an installed fleet needs console access before site configuration is loaded. The serial console operates at 115200 bps with flow control disabled, allowing access to basic system settings without relying on the management network. Confirm the staging terminal settings and console connection before ordering.
Gigabit speed at every access port
SFE2000P limits its 24 access ports to 10/100 Mbps. The Gigabit connections provide uplink connectivity rather than Gigabit speed across the powered access ports.
More than 15.4W per powered endpoint
SFE2000P provides 802.3af power with a 15.4W per-port ceiling. An endpoint requiring more power cannot receive its required allocation from a powered access port.
Ongoing manufacturer service eligibility
SFE2000P reached its last date of Cisco support on December 31, 2017. Manufacturer service has ended, regardless of whether the ordered hardware is unused or refurbished.

SFE2000P identifies the PoE version of the discontinued SFE2000 24-port 10/100 Ethernet switch, with four Gigabit connection positions and two shared SFP slots. The P distinguishes powered access ports from the non-PoE configuration. Access connections remain Fast Ethernet; Gigabit capability belongs to the uplinks.
SFE2000P is managed through the WebView browser interface, a local serial console, Telnet, SSH and SNMP. HTTP and HTTPS provide browser access, while a Linksys One system can also use the Linksys One Portal on its Services Router. These interfaces provide configuration and monitoring rather than unmanaged operation.
SFE2000P is discontinued, with end of sale on December 30, 2012, and Cisco support ending December 31, 2017. Cisco service has ended, so an order is legacy hardware procurement rather than a purchase eligible for ongoing manufacturer support. Choosing unused or refurbished hardware does not restart that lifecycle.
ORM Systems offers SFE2000P new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Both conditions have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's original 5-year hardware warranty no longer provides service; Cisco support ended December 31, 2017.
SFE2000P provides a shared 180W PoE budget with 802.3af output capped at 15.4W per powered port. Having 24 powered ports does not mean all can operate at their individual maximum simultaneously. Add endpoint allocations before deployment and set priorities to determine which devices receive power when resources are limited.
The 24-port Fast Ethernet switch with PoE provides four Gigabit connection positions: two dedicated RJ-45 uplinks and two combo positions shared between RJ-45 and 1G SFP. Each combo position uses one copper or fiber connection at a time; inserting an optic does not create another independent uplink.
SFE2000P supports eight members in a ring or chain stack with master and backup-master control. Stack members must run the same software version, and SFE2000 and SGE2000 families cannot share a stack. Plan the family, software baseline and control roles before extending an existing installation.
SFE2000P supports static routing for manually configured inter-VLAN paths, with 128 static routes. Networks that depend on changing routes need to account for manual updates rather than dynamic route exchange. Configure the VLAN interfaces and routing entries to match the existing addressing plan before placing the switch into service.
No, SFE2000P uses an internal universal AC supply and an external redundant-power connector, not an additional internal redundant PSU. The AC input accepts 100–240V, and consumption reaches 225W under the powered-load condition. Include the connected endpoint load when sizing the upstream power connection and UPS capacity.
SFE2000P powers endpoints over its access ports, while SFE2000 is the non-PoE member with the same 24-port 10/100 access configuration. Both models are discontinued. The powered model serves legacy endpoints requiring power over the data cable; the non-PoE model serves devices already using a separate power source.
SFE2000P has 24 Fast Ethernet access ports, where SFE2010P has 48. The difference is connection density rather than an increase in access-port speed. Both models are discontinued. SFE2000P matches a 24-port legacy installation; SFE2010P addresses a larger existing port requirement within the older Fast Ethernet range.
SFE2000P has 10/100 Mbps access ports, while SGE2000P has 10/100/1000 Mbps access ports. Both models provide PoE and are discontinued. The Fast Ethernet model matches legacy lower-speed endpoints; the Gigabit model matches an installed environment whose powered devices need Gigabit access rather than only Gigabit uplinks.
