SG500-52MP combines 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports with static routing and a higher endpoint-power allocation than the standard powered model. This managed Layer 2+ switch belongs to the Cisco Small Business 500 Series Stackable Managed Switches family and uses a full-width 1U rack chassis. Four additional Gigabit interfaces provide fixed uplink connectivity: two copper/SFP combo interfaces and two SFP interfaces that can alternatively serve stacking connections. Each combo interface operates through either its copper connection or its fiber cage, not both simultaneously. The discontinued SG500-52P provides a smaller 375W endpoint-power allocation at the same access-port density. Within the Cisco 500 Series, this configuration addresses powered access connections without a removable uplink card or a separately selected network-license tier.

The MAC address table accommodates 16384 entries, while VLAN support reaches 4096 VLANs. SG500-52MP carries 256 MB of DRAM and 32 MB of flash for runtime operation and firmware storage. STP/RSTP/MSTP provides loop-control options, and LACP supports aggregated connections. Local administration uses an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, full or menu-based CLI, SSH, Telnet and the console connection, with SNMP available for network-management integration. Four fans provide active cooling, so the chassis is not fanless.
