SG220-50-K9 provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet access connections and two fixed 1G RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks in a 1U rack-mount Layer 2 smart switch. The Cisco 220 Series serves small and midsize business networks that need configurable switching rather than an unmanaged device. Copper and fiber share each combo connection, so only one connector in each pair can operate at a time. Endpoints require separate power because this model does not provide PoE; the discontinued SG220-50P-K9 adds PoE+ with a shared 375W budget. The internal AC power supply avoids an external adapter, while the single-fan chassis requires a location that permits active cooling. Fixed uplinks mean expansion planning starts with the installed connections rather than a removable network card.
SG220-50-K9 price for new stock is $721.88, a 21.5% saving from the Cisco list price of $919.61. SG220-50-K9 refurb price is $510.81. SG220-50-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

100 Gbps switching capacity supports the installed Ethernet connections, while 74.4 Mpps forwarding describes processing performance with 64-byte packets. An 8192-entry MAC table accommodates learned endpoint addresses. SG220-50-K9 combines 128 MB of memory with 32 MB of flash for switch operation and firmware storage. A 12 Mb shared packet buffer serves traffic across the ports rather than assigning a separate buffer to each connection. STP, RSTP, and MSTP provide spanning-tree controls, with 16 MSTP instances available for topology planning. LACP supports eight aggregation groups with eight active ports per group, allowing multiple physical links to form a logical connection. The 50-port Gigabit Smart Switch supports 256 simultaneous VLANs for Ethernet segmentation, but inter-VLAN routing requires another device. Security controls include 512 ACL rules for filtering or rate limiting. Eight hardware queues per port support traffic prioritization, while IGMP snooping limits multicast delivery to requesting receivers across 256 multicast groups.
Order SG220-50-K9 from ORM Systems in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying the regional power cord, optics, and quantity on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including optics bay recognition, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM warranties provide up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply, while Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty remains subject to eligibility and ends July 31, 2027. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When replacing a discontinued SG200-50, the North American migration is SLM2048T-NA to SG220-50-K9-NA. The older model reached end-of-sale on October 4, 2018. Reusing an existing configuration requires a settings review rather than assuming identical interfaces; specify the regional ordering form and required configuration work before the PO.
For repeat branch orders with a common configuration, text-editable configuration files let engineers prepare settings for transfer between units. CLI privilege levels 1 and 15 separate access levels during preparation. Define site-specific addresses, credentials, and the approved configuration file before specifying the quantity and staging requirements on the PO.
When validating changes before a production rollout, dual firmware images let the team retain an alternate image while preparing the next load. Port mirroring supports four sessions and eight source ports to one destination. Confirm the required image, mirror session plan, and acceptance checks before ordering the staging unit.
Switch-powered phones and access points
SG220-50-K9 supplies no endpoint power, so phones, cameras, or access points requiring power from their Ethernet switch port cannot be powered directly by this model.
10G uplinks to distribution
SG220-50-K9 limits both combo uplinks to 1G. The fixed uplink hardware cannot accept a removable 10G network card, so a 10G distribution connection requires another switch.
Local routing between VLANs
SG220-50-K9 provides Layer 2 switching rather than inter-VLAN routing. Networks requiring the access switch to route between local VLANs need routing elsewhere or a different switch.
Four independent fiber uplinks
SG220-50-K9 has two shared combo connections, not four independent fiber uplinks. Current replacement CBS220-48T-4G-NA retains 48 copper access ports and provides four Gigabit SFP uplinks.

SG220-50-K9 identifies the Gigabit model in Cisco's 220 Series with 50 total network connections: 48 copper access ports and two RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. SG220-50-K9-NA is the North American regional form, while SG220-50-K9-EU and SG220-50-K9-UK are other regional ordering forms.
SG220-50-K9 supports a web UI over HTTP/HTTPS, a scriptable CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3, and Cisco FindIT Network Manager. Browser configuration includes maintenance and monitoring, while the CLI allows command-based configuration rather than limiting administration to the web interface.
SG220-50-K9 is discontinued: end-of-sale was July 30, 2022, software maintenance ended July 30, 2023, and the last date of support is July 31, 2027. Purchases fall within the final support window, not an ongoing software maintenance period, so the support cutoff belongs in the replacement plan.
ORM Systems offers SG220-50-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with separate ORM warranties: new units receive up to a 3-year extended warranty; refurbished units receive up to 1 year. Every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty remains subject to eligibility and ends July 31, 2027.
SG220-50-K9 replaces discontinued SG200-50 units identified as SLM2048T-AU, SLM2048T-EU, SLM2048T-NA, and SLM2048T-UK through corresponding regional forms. Those older switches reached end-of-sale on October 4, 2018. SG220-50-K9 is itself discontinued, so the current North American replacement for a new migration purchase is CBS220-48T-4G-NA.
SG220-50-K9 accepts MGBSX1 for multimode fiber to 550 m and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber to 10 km through its 1G SFP slots. Each slot shares its connection with an RJ-45 port, so fiber does not add connections beyond the corresponding copper uplink. Specify optics separately.
SG220-50-K9 is a full-width 1U rack-mount switch measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 201 mm deep, with a weight of 3.3 kg. The original package includes a mounting kit. Confirm the ordered unit's included mounting hardware before allocating rack space and installation materials.
SG220-50P-K9 supplies PoE+ on 48 access ports with a shared 375W budget, whereas SG220-50-K9 provides no PoE. Both models are discontinued. The powered variant addresses endpoint power requirements; SG220-50-K9 serves buyers whose connected devices already have independent power and need only data connectivity.
SG220-50-K9 has 48 Gigabit access ports, whereas SG220-26-K9 has 24; both provide two Gigabit combo uplinks. Both models are discontinued. The larger model addresses denser copper patching, while the 24-port version fits a smaller existing installation where maintaining that legacy configuration is the purchase objective.
CBS220-48T-4G-NA provides four dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks, whereas SG220-50-K9 has two shared RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. Both have 48 Gigabit copper access ports. CBS220-48T-4G-NA is the current replacement for new purchases; SG220-50-K9 is discontinued and serves legacy replacement or sparing requirements where its connection layout must be preserved.
The Cisco 220 Series operates at Layer 2 and does not provide inter-VLAN routing. VLAN membership, trunks, and traffic controls can separate Ethernet traffic, but routing between those VLANs must occur on another device. IPv6 host support does not turn the switch into an IPv6 router.
