SG220-50P-K9-NA is a Layer 2 smart-managed access switch with 48 Gigabit copper PoE+ ports and two fixed Gigabit combo uplinks. Each uplink selects either its RJ-45 connection or its SFP cage, so the copper and fiber sides cannot operate as independent links. The rack-mount 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches and connects small-business networks containing IP phones, wireless access points, cameras, computers, and printers. The discontinued SG220-50-K9-NA provides the same access-port and uplink arrangement without endpoint power. Specify the powered variant when endpoint electrical requirements form part of the switch order.

100 Gbps switching capacity supports traffic across the installed interfaces, while 74.4 Mpps forwarding defines packet throughput for 64-byte frames. 375W of shared PoE power governs endpoint allocations, with CDP/LLDP negotiation supporting power management. 427W maximum power consumption supplies the AC load figure for electrical provisioning. SG220-50P-K9-NA combines 128 MB of DRAM with 32 MB of flash for software and configuration storage. A dynamically shared 12 Mb packet buffer accommodates traffic across the ports, and 8192 MAC entries bound address learning. STP/RSTP/MSTP control switching loops; LACP supports eight link groups with eight active ports per group. VLAN handling supports 256 simultaneous VLANs, while eight hardware queues per port provide traffic scheduling. Four speed-controlled fans cool the internal power hardware. Cisco 220 Series management includes HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, and a scriptable CLI, allowing browser-based administration or command-driven configuration. The built-in uplinks do not provide 10G operation.
SG220-50P-K9-NA is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links, and PoE output under load on every powered port, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity, and required accessories on the purchase order; ORM warranties are up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Cisco's eligible limited lifetime hardware warranty includes 1-year fan and power-supply coverage, with Cisco service and warranty ending July 31, 2027. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government buyers receive Net-30, and RMA includes advance replacement with regional stock/RMA coverage in the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

For a branch rollout with existing copper drops, keep each Ethernet cable run within the 100 m connection limit and specify Category 5e or better cabling. Include patch leads and the intended equipment connections in the installation schedule, then check route lengths before completing the purchase order.
When several locations need a common configuration, text-editable configuration files can be prepared and downloaded to other switches. CLI privilege levels 1 and 15 distinguish read-only access from configuration access. Define the shared settings, site-specific changes, and administrative roles before specifying the equipment quantities on the purchase order.
During staging alongside another power-sourcing switch, legacy PoE detection can mistake that switch for a powered endpoint. Disable PoE on switch-to-switch interconnect ports and power the other sourcing device before connecting the link. Identify those interconnects and specify the required port settings before releasing the purchase order.
10G uplinks to distribution
The fixed uplinks operate at 1G and do not provide SFP+ interfaces or a removable uplink card. Changing transceivers cannot turn these connections into 10G uplinks.
Four independent fiber uplinks
Two shared Gigabit combo uplinks limit independent fiber connections. The current CBS220-48P-4G-NA replacement provides four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks while retaining 48 copper access ports.
Fanless operation in occupied rooms
Four speed-controlled fans cool the chassis, with acoustic noise reaching 52 dB above 40°C. The switch cannot meet a requirement for a fanless installation.

SG220-50P-K9-NA identifies the Gigabit PoE+ model in the Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches. The 50 counts 48 access ports plus two combo uplinks, and P distinguishes the powered version. NA selects the regional order for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and other Latin American markets.
SG220-50P-K9-NA is managed through an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, CLI over console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Cisco FindIT Network Manager and Probe provide additional network management, while FindIT Network Discovery Utility locates the device. Select the administrative access method and session security before configuration.
SG220-50P-K9-NA is discontinued: sales ended July 30, 2022, software maintenance ended July 30, 2023, and the last support date is July 31, 2027. CBS220-48P-4G-NA is the named replacement and remains orderable. Distinguish remaining eligible hardware support from continuing firmware maintenance when planning the required operating life.
ORM offers SG220-50P-K9-NA new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions include 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's eligible limited lifetime hardware warranty has 1-year coverage for fans and power supplies; Cisco service and warranty end July 31, 2027.
SG220-50P-K9-NA is a replacement for the discontinued SG200-50FP-NA, a 50-port Gigabit Smart Switch with a 370W PoE budget. Match the old configuration to the replacement order rather than assuming a reused settings file will work unchanged. Confirm endpoint power requirements and uplink connections during the changeover.
375W is the shared PoE budget for SG220-50P-K9-NA, whose 48 powered access ports support 30W per port. Running every port at 30W would require 48 × 30W = 1440W, beyond that budget. Sum endpoint maximum draws and specify power allocations before commissioning; the per-port rating does not multiply the available budget.
MGBSX1 and MGBLX1 are compatible Gigabit fiber transceivers for the Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches: MGBSX1 supports multimode fiber and MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber. A fiber connection occupies a combo uplink and disables its paired copper interface. Specify the transceiver PID, fiber medium, and matching far-end optics for each link.
Cisco SG220-50P has 48 dedicated Gigabit copper access ports plus two Gigabit combo uplinks, providing 50 simultaneous network connections. Each combo uplink has an RJ-45 connector and an SFP cage, but only one operates at a time. The combo connections are uplink choices, not four additional independent network ports.
Yes, SG220-50P-K9-NA fits a Rack-Mount 1U installation and includes mounting hardware. The chassis measures 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 350 mm deep, with a unit weight of 5.28 kg. Plan rack support, cable clearance, and AC power access before installation; wall mounting is restricted to non-PoE models.
SG220-50P-K9-NA supplies PoE+ endpoint power, while the discontinued SG220-50-K9-NA supplies no PoE; both have the same access-port and uplink arrangement. Both models have ended Cisco sales. The powered model addresses orders containing power-dependent endpoints, while the non-PoE sibling corresponds to legacy installations with separately powered equipment.
SG220-50P-K9-NA has 48 copper access ports, while the discontinued SG220-26P-K9-NA has 24; both include two Gigabit combo uplinks. Both belong to the discontinued Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches. The larger model addresses higher endpoint counts, while the smaller legacy variant corresponds to installations requiring lower access-port density.
CBS220-48P-4G-NA has four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, whereas SG220-50P-K9-NA has two shared Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. CBS220-48P-4G-NA is the current replacement. The discontinued original corresponds to legacy combo-uplink cabling, while the replacement addresses orders requiring four independent fiber uplinks without changing the copper access-port count.
