SG220-26-K9-NA combines fanless Layer 2 operation with 24 dedicated 10/100/1000 RJ-45 access ports and two fixed Gigabit combo uplinks in a 1U rack-mount chassis. Each uplink supports either its copper connection or its SFP connection, with only one medium active per pair. The Cisco 220 Series serves small and midsize business networks connecting desktop computers, servers, printers, and separately powered endpoints. SG220-26P-K9-NA, its discontinued PoE+ sibling, differs by providing endpoint power over Ethernet. Browser-based configuration, a scriptable CLI, SNMP, and Cisco FindIT Network Manager give administrators several management paths. The 26-Port Gigabit Smart Switch provides configurable access switching rather than unmanaged connectivity.

52 Gbps switching capacity supports traffic across the access and uplink connections. 38.69 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets, while a dynamically shared 4.1 Mb packet buffer serves all ports. SG220-26-K9-NA carries 128 MB of DRAM and 32 MB of flash for its operating software and configuration storage. An 8192-entry MAC table supports address learning, and 256 simultaneous VLANs provide traffic separation. STP/RSTP/MSTP handle Layer 2 loop control; LACP supports aggregated Ethernet links. Eight hardware queues per port support traffic prioritization using strict priority or weighted round-robin scheduling. IGMP snooping limits multicast delivery to interested receivers, with support for 256 multicast groups. RADIUS and TACACS+ support administrator authentication, while HTTPS and SSH protect management sessions. IPv6 host support provides management connectivity without changing the switch into an inter-VLAN router. Port security, storm control, and BPDU Guard provide additional controls at the network edge.
Order SG220-26-K9-NA in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying quantities, condition, and accessories on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, optics bay recognition, and PSU status; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty, with a 1-year power-supply limit, ends no later than July 31, 2027. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA in the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When multiple offices need a repeatable configuration, the Cisco 220 Series supports text-editable configuration files that can be downloaded to another switch. DHCP options 66 and 67 assist centralized provisioning. Define addressing, configuration ownership, and the approved file for each location before specifying quantities on the purchase order.
When replacement equipment must be prepared before installation, two firmware images and dual configuration files separate software preparation from the active setup. A mirror configuration file retains the latest stable configuration. Include firmware verification and the intended boot configuration in the acceptance requirements before ordering the staging batch.
When a branch introduces access restrictions for employees and guests, the Cisco 220 Series supports 512 ACL rules and port-based authentication. Guest VLANs separate visitor access from business traffic. Identify the required filtering rules, authentication service, and guest access policy before specifying the branch equipment purchase order.
10G uplinks to distribution
SG220-26-K9-NA limits each uplink to 1GbE and has no removable uplink card bay. A requirement for 10G connectivity exceeds its fixed uplink hardware.
Switch-powered phones or access points
SG220-26-K9-NA does not supply endpoint power. CBS220-24P-4G-NA is the current PoE alternative, retaining 24 Gigabit access ports but using four dedicated SFP uplinks.
Cisco support beyond July 2027
Cisco service for SG220-26-K9-NA ends July 31, 2027. CBS220-24T-4G-NA is the current replacement and changes the uplink arrangement to four dedicated 1G SFP ports.

SG220-26-K9-NA identifies the Cisco SG220-26 Gigabit Smart Switch for the NA region. SG220 names the Gigabit member of the 220 Series; 26 covers 24 access connections plus two combo uplinks. K9 remains part of the complete ordering identifier. NA covers the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and remaining Latin America.
SG220-26-K9-NA supports a web interface over HTTP or HTTPS, a full CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3, and Cisco FindIT Network Manager. The CLI supports privilege levels 1 and 15 and scripting, while the browser interface provides configuration, monitoring, and maintenance functions.
SG220-26-K9-NA reached end-of-sale on July 30, 2022, and its last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. Remaining hardware availability does not restart these milestones, so an order for existing stock retains the same support deadline.
ORM offers SG220-26-K9-NA new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for every condition; terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty, including a 1-year power-supply limit, cannot extend beyond July 31, 2027.
SG220-26-K9-NA replaces discontinued SLM2024T-NA, the SG200-26 26-port Gigabit Smart Switch, which reached end-of-sale on May 10, 2018. Cisco support for that predecessor ended May 31, 2023. Existing spare-parts schedules using SLM2024T-NA should distinguish the older hardware from the SG220 replacement and its separate lifecycle.
SG220-26P-K9-NA supplies PoE+ through 24 access ports with a shared 180W budget, whereas SG220-26-K9-NA supplies no endpoint power. Both retain two Gigabit combo uplinks. Both models are discontinued: the non-PoE model matches separately powered endpoints, while the PoE+ model corresponds to existing powered-endpoint installations.
SG220-50-K9-NA has 48 dedicated Gigabit access ports, compared with 24 on SG220-26-K9-NA; both provide two Gigabit combo uplinks. Both models are discontinued. The smaller model matches a 24-connection access requirement, while the larger model corresponds to existing installations consolidating more copper connections into one chassis.
CBS220-24T-4G-NA provides four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, whereas SG220-26-K9-NA provides two shared Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. Both have 24 Gigabit copper access ports. CBS220-24T-4G-NA is the current replacement for buyers migrating to dedicated fiber uplinks; the discontinued SG220 model matches the original shared-port arrangement.
SG220-26-K9-NA supports MGBSX1 for Gigabit multimode fiber connections reaching 550 m and MGBLX1 for Gigabit single-mode connections reaching 10 km. Each transceiver uses a combo uplink slot, which shares its connection with an RJ-45 port. Specify matching remote optics and the correct fiber type with the order.
The Cisco SG220-26 provides 52 Gbps switching capacity and 38.69 Mpps forwarding performance for 64-byte packets. Its 8192-entry MAC table supports address learning, and a shared 4.1 Mb packet buffer serves all ports. The switch also carries 128 MB of DRAM and 32 MB of flash.
The Cisco SG220-26 uses a fanless, 1U rack-mount chassis measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 201 mm deep, with a weight of 2.81 kg. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C. Internal AC power accepts 100-240V, and the original package includes a mounting kit.
SG220-26-K9-NA is a Layer 2 switch and does not provide inter-VLAN routing. Support for 256 simultaneous VLANs separates traffic, but communication between those VLANs requires routing elsewhere in the network. IPv6 host functionality supports the switch's own connectivity rather than turning the access switch into a router.
The Cisco 220 Series supports STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, eight hardware queues per port, and IGMP snooping for controlled Layer 2 forwarding. Port security, storm control, BPDU Guard, and port-based authentication provide access controls. RADIUS and TACACS+ support administrator authentication, while HTTPS and SSH protect management communications.
