SG220-50-K9-NA is a Layer 2 smart-managed switch with 48 dedicated 10/100/1000 copper access ports and two fixed Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. The non-PoE configuration provides data connectivity without supplying endpoint power, while its 1U rack-mount chassis fits small-business equipment racks. Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches combine configurable traffic controls with browser-based administration rather than operating as unmanaged devices. Copper or fiber can serve each combo uplink, but its paired connectors cannot operate simultaneously. The discontinued SG220-50P-K9-NA sibling differs by adding PoE+ for powered endpoints. The SG220-50 therefore serves existing installations that need this specific copper-access configuration, shared-media uplinks and independently powered endpoints rather than a powered-port replacement.

100 Gbps switching capacity supports traffic across the installed Gigabit interfaces without adding an uplink card. 74.4 Mpps forwarding handles the published 64-byte packet workload, keeping packet-processing performance distinct from aggregate switching bandwidth. SG220-50-K9-NA carries 128 MB of memory and 32 MB of flash for its embedded software and configuration storage. An 8192-entry MAC table supports address learning, while the 12 Mb packet buffer is dynamically shared across ports rather than reserved equally for every interface. Eight hardware queues per port provide traffic prioritization through strict-priority or Weighted Round-Robin scheduling. STP/RSTP/MSTP supports loop-control designs, including 16 MSTP instances, and LACP supports eight aggregation groups. Inter-VLAN routing requires an external routing device; these controls provide Layer 2 switching rather than routed access.
Specify SG220-50-K9-NA and the required quantity as new sealed or certified refurbished on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, clean boot, optics bay recognition, PSU status and fan status; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM warranties are up to 3-year extended for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on either condition, terms apply; Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty, including 1-year fan and power-supply coverage, is bounded by July 31, 2027. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA.

When departments need separate broadcast domains on an existing wired network, the switch supports 256 simultaneous VLANs, including port-based and tagged configurations. Voice traffic can receive its own VLAN treatment. Define the departmental VLAN assignments and upstream routing requirements, then check the configuration scope before issuing the PO.
When several branches need a common configuration, text-editable configuration files can be downloaded to another switch, and dual firmware images support staged software changes. Separate site-specific addressing from the common configuration and identify the intended firmware baseline, then specify the staging requirements before the PO.
10G uplinks to upstream equipment
SG220-50-K9-NA limits each combo uplink to 1G. CBS220-48T-4X-NA provides four dedicated 10G SFP+ uplinks while retaining 48 Gigabit copper access ports.
PoE power for connected endpoints
SG220-50-K9-NA does not supply endpoint power. CBS220-48P-4G-NA provides 48 powered Gigabit ports with a shared 382W budget and four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks.

SG220-50-K9-NA identifies the Gigabit smart-switch model with 50 logical Ethernet interfaces in the NA regional variant. SG220 names the Gigabit model family, and 50 covers 48 dedicated copper ports plus two combo uplinks. NA covers the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and the remaining Latin American region.
SG220-50-K9-NA supports a browser interface over HTTP or HTTPS, a full scriptable CLI, SSH access, SNMP and Cisco FindIT Network Manager. Cisco FindIT discovery also identifies devices and provides access to basic device information. Administrators can select browser-based configuration, scripted administration or centralized monitoring according to their existing management workflow.
SG220-50-K9-NA reached end of sale on July 30, 2022, and its last date of support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. CBS220-48T-4G-NA is the replacement, so purchases of the original model should account for the remaining support window and ended software maintenance.
SG220-50-K9-NA replaced the discontinued SLM2048T-NA, also named SG200-50, whose end-of-sale date was October 4, 2018. That relationship identifies a legacy migration option rather than a current-generation recommendation. SG220-50-K9-NA is itself discontinued, and its replacement is CBS220-48T-4G-NA for buyers continuing the migration forward.
ORM Systems offers SG220-50-K9-NA new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to a 1-year warranty; both have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty includes 1-year fan and power-supply coverage, with applicable Cisco service ending July 31, 2027.
SG220-50-K9-NA supports MGBSX1 for multimode fiber links to 550 m and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber links to 10 km. These Gigabit transceivers occupy the SFP side of a combo uplink. Each combo interface uses either its copper connection or its SFP connection, not both simultaneously.
The Cisco 220 Series SG220-50 uses an internal AC power supply accepting 100-240V AC at 50-60 Hz, without a redundant supply option. System consumption is 36.6W at 110V or 39.9W at 220V. The supply powers the switch itself; connected endpoints require their own power source.
SG220-50-K9-NA provides 100 Gbps switching capacity and 74.4 Mpps forwarding for 64-byte packets. Its packet buffer totals 12 Mb and is dynamically shared across ports. Eight hardware queues per port support traffic prioritization, while the 8192-entry MAC table supplies the address-learning capacity for Layer 2 forwarding.
The Cisco 220 Series SG220-50 occupies 1U and measures 440 mm wide, 44 mm high and 201 mm deep, with a weight of 3.3 kg. The mounting kit is included with the original package. Confirm the mounting hardware supplied with the selected condition before finalizing the equipment list.
SG220-50P-K9-NA adds PoE+ on 48 access ports with a shared 375W budget, whereas SG220-50-K9-NA supplies no endpoint power. Both original models are discontinued. For legacy hardware matching, the non-PoE model serves independently powered devices, while the PoE+ model serves endpoints that obtain power through their Ethernet connections.
SG220-50-K9-NA provides 48 dedicated Gigabit access ports, whereas SG220-26-K9-NA provides 24; both have two Gigabit combo uplinks. Both original models are discontinued. The larger model suits legacy installations retaining a higher copper-port count, while the smaller model matches installations that need only the lower access-port density.
CBS220-48T-4G-NA provides four dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks, whereas SG220-50-K9-NA provides two Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo uplinks. CBS220-48T-4G-NA is the current replacement for the discontinued original. The older model matches an existing shared-media uplink arrangement; the replacement suits buyers requiring four independent fiber uplink interfaces.
Cisco 220 Series Smart Switches support STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, VLAN segmentation, access control lists and traffic prioritization. MSTP supports 16 instances, and LACP supports eight aggregation groups. Access control lists support 512 rules. These functions control Layer 2 traffic and access rather than providing an inter-VLAN routing service.
