Managed Access for Powered Small Business Endpoints

SG350-52MP-K9 is a managed Layer 2+ Gigabit PoE+ access switch with 48 powered RJ-45 access ports and fixed 1G uplinks in a 1U rack-mount chassis. Two dedicated SFP ports sit beside two copper/SFP combo connections, with one medium active per combo. The 350 Series serves small-business networks connecting phones, wireless access points, computers, and other wired devices. Unlike the lower-budget SG350-52P-K9-NA, which is also discontinued and provides 375W for endpoints, this Max-PoE model accommodates larger aggregate powered-device loads without changing the uplink speed. Private VLAN isolation separates selected devices, while automatic voice VLAN handling assigns phone traffic its own treatment. The fixed configuration provides copper and fiber connection choices without a removable uplink expansion card.

SG350-52MP-K9 price for new stock is $2,409.75. SG350-52MP-K9 refurb price is $1,217.45. SG350-52MP-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Technical Details

104 Gbps switching capacity supplies a nonblocking fabric, while 77.38 Mpps forwarding processes 64-byte packets at wire speed. 740W of shared PoE allocation covers the combined powered-device load rather than reserving every port's maximum simultaneously. Static routing supports 990 IPv4 routes, and PBR controls next-hop selection; dynamic route exchange is not provided. SG350-52MP-K9 carries 512 MB of memory and 256 MB of flash for embedded software and configuration handling. A 3 MB packet buffer is dynamically shared across ports. Browser administration, Textview CLI, and SNMP cover local and remote management, while STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP support loop control and aggregated links. The Cisco Small Business switch also supports DHCP snooping, IP Source Guard, and Dynamic ARP Inspection for access-port controls. Its internal AC supply has no redundant supply option, so loss of that supply interrupts both switching and endpoint power.

Ordering

Order SG350-52MP-K9 in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, and specify the regional power cord plus any required optics on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders accept POs, with Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

Best For

Higher-Draw Endpoint Refresh

When an endpoint refresh introduces higher-draw devices, eight powered copper ports support 60W PoE rather than the 30W available on the other powered ports. Those higher-output connections need deliberate assignment. Identify the endpoints requiring them, confirm their power compatibility, and specify the port allocation before the PO.

Multi-Site Configuration Standardization

When several locations need a common configuration baseline, text-editable configuration files and SCP download support repeatable staging without entering each setting locally. CLI privilege levels 1, 7, and 15 separate operator access. Define the baseline file, account privileges, and site-specific changes before ordering the rollout quantity.

Diagnostic Lab Staging

When a spare must support fault reproduction before installation, port mirroring can send traffic from eight source ports to one destination, with a single session available. Reserve the destination connection for the analyzer rather than an endpoint, and specify the required capture arrangement before ordering staging equipment.

Not Suitable If

10G connections to distribution

Fixed uplinks operate at 1G, and no removable uplink card can add 10G connectivity. A 10G distribution connection requires different switching hardware.

Simultaneous 30W on every powered port

The 740W shared allowance cannot deliver 30W simultaneously across all 48 powered ports. An installation requiring every port at maximum needs a larger aggregate PoE budget.

Vendor support after October 2026

Applicable Cisco service ends October 31, 2026. C1300-48FP-4G is the current successor; the intermediate CBS350-48FP-4G-NA is already discontinued and is not a current-product migration option.

Questions & Answers

What does the SG350-52MP-K9 part number identify?

SG350-52MP-K9 identifies a 350 Series Gigabit Max-PoE managed switch: SG350 identifies the Gigabit family, 52 represents total network connections, and MP identifies Max-PoE. The configuration contains 48 powered access ports plus four uplink connections. SG350-52MP-K9-NA is the regional ordering form for the United States.

How is SG350-52MP-K9 managed?

SG350-52MP-K9 supports a web UI over HTTP/HTTPS, Textview CLI through the RJ-45 console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP v1, v2c or v3. Network-level tools include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with its embedded Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, and Cisco Active Advisor. Network Plug and Play supports provisioning.

How much PoE power does SG350-52MP-K9 provide?

SG350-52MP-K9 supplies a shared 740W PoE budget across 48 powered access ports. Eight ports support 60W PoE, while the other powered ports support 30W PoE+. The shared allowance limits simultaneous load, so port capability alone does not guarantee every attached device its maximum power allocation.

Which uplinks and optics does SG350-52MP-K9 support?

SG350-52MP-K9 supports four simultaneous 1G uplink connections through two dedicated SFP slots and two copper/SFP combo ports. Each combo activates either its copper connector or its SFP slot, not both. MGBSX1 supports multimode fiber, while MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber; specify optics for the intended link.

Can the 350 Series route between VLANs?

Yes, the 350 Series supports static IPv4 routing with 990 routes, 128 IP interfaces, IPv6 routing, and PBR. Interfaces can be configured on physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLANs, or loopbacks. Dynamic route exchange is not provided, so routing changes require static-route configuration rather than a dynamic routing process.

Does SG350-52MP-K9 support redundant power supplies?

No, SG350-52MP-K9 uses an internal 100-240V AC supply without a redundant PSU option. Worst-case consumption reaches 858W at 110V with PoE load, compared with 833W at 220V. The integral supply powers both switching hardware and attached powered devices, so specify the correct regional cord and upstream power provision.

What is the lifecycle status of SG350-52MP-K9?

SG350-52MP-K9 reached end of sale on October 30, 2021, and its last date of Cisco support is October 31, 2026. Software maintenance ended October 30, 2022. The replacement chain passes through the discontinued CBS350-48FP-4G-NA and ends at C1300-48FP-4G for current-model migration.

What conditions and warranties does ORM offer for SG350-52MP-K9?

SG350-52MP-K9 is offered new sealed or certified refurbished. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns for every condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime warranty remains subject to eligibility and ends no later than October 31, 2026.

Which older switches did SG350-52MP-K9 replace?

SG350-52MP-K9 replaced the discontinued SG300-52MP-K9-AU, SG300-52MP-K9-EU, SG300-52MP-K9-NA, and SG300-52MP-K9-UK regional models. The SG300-52MP transition had a September 2018 end-of-sale milestone. Match the regional suffix to the destination market when maintaining an existing installation; this historical replacement relationship does not make either generation a current product.

What is the difference between SG350-52MP-K9 and SG350-52P-K9-NA?

SG350-52MP-K9 provides 740W of PoE allocation, compared with 375W on SG350-52P-K9-NA. Both models are discontinued. The higher-budget model suits an existing installation with greater powered-device demand; the lower-budget model suits lighter aggregate loads when maintaining an established 350 Series deployment with compatible replacement hardware.

What is the difference between SG350-52MP-K9 and SG350-28MP-K9-NA?

SG350-52MP-K9 provides 48 powered Gigabit access ports, whereas SG350-28MP-K9-NA provides 24. Both models are discontinued. The larger model suits an existing installation requiring more endpoint connections in one chassis; the smaller model suits lower-density replacement requirements when maintaining an established 350 Series deployment.

What is the difference between SG350-52MP-K9 and C1300-48FP-4G?

C1300-48FP-4G has four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, while SG350-52MP-K9 has two dedicated SFP ports plus two copper/SFP combos. SG350-52MP-K9 is discontinued; C1300-48FP-4G is the current successor. The older model fits like-for-like copper-uplink retention, while the successor suits a migration using dedicated fiber uplinks.

Is the SG350-52MP Gigabit Max-PoE switch rack-mountable?

Yes, the SG350-52MP Gigabit Max-PoE switch is a 1U rack-mount unit measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 350 mm deep. Weight is 3.83 kg. Four fans provide active cooling, and the operating range is 0°C to 50°C; allow the installation sufficient ventilation.
