SG550X-24P-K9-UK is a managed Layer 2+ Gigabit access switch with 24 PoE+ RJ-45 ports and four fixed 10G uplinks. Two uplinks are dedicated SFP+ cages; two are shared copper/SFP+ combo connections, allowing copper or fiber on each shared interface. The full-width 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 550X Series Stackable Managed Switches and serves small and medium business networks connecting phones, cameras and wireless access points. The discontinued SG550X-24-K9-UK retains the same access-port count but omits PoE, distinguishing the unpowered sibling from this model. Uplink interfaces are built into the chassis rather than supplied through a removable network card. Each combo connection activates either its copper interface or its SFP+ interface, not both simultaneously.

128 Gbps switching capacity defines the aggregate bandwidth available for concurrent switched traffic. 95.23 Mpps forwarding handles 64-byte packets, distinguishing packet-processing performance from aggregate bandwidth. 195W of shared PoE power requires endpoint allocation rather than an assumption of maximum output across every powered port. Static routing and RIP v2 provide IPv4 routing, while PBR controls next-hop selection and VRRP supports gateway redundancy. SG550X-24P-K9-UK carries 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for embedded management software and configuration storage. The Cisco SG550X-24P dynamically shares a 1.5 MB packet buffer across its ports, while its MAC table accommodates 16000 addresses. Browser-based configuration and Textview CLI provide administration; SSH and SNMPv3 support remote access and monitoring. Four fans operate in a redundant arrangement, with three required and one spare. Power redundancy depends on an external RPS connection rather than a second internal supply bay.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, PoE output under load on every powered port, optics bay recognition, PSU status and fan status, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and accessory PIDs on the PO. New units carry up to a 3-year extended warranty and certified refurbished units up to 1 year; 30-day returns cover every condition, with terms applying. POs are accepted, Net-30 is available for government, and enterprise and volume orders can use RMA with advance replacement and regional stock/RMA across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

For an installed network replacing the discontinued SF550X-24P-K9-UK, this model is a Gigabit PoE migration option retaining 24 access connections. Treat replacement as a configuration migration rather than a configuration-free swap: review VLAN assignments, endpoint power requirements and existing uplink media before specifying the replacement quantity on the PO.
For a routed access purchase terminating multiple IP networks locally, the routing feature set supports 256 IP interfaces. That ceiling matters separately from route-table capacity when preparing the addressing plan. Count planned routed ports, VLAN interfaces, LAG interfaces and loopbacks, then confirm the required interface allocation before the PO.
For lab and staging purchases requiring traffic capture, port mirroring can send traffic from eight source ports to one destination port. Include the analyzer connection in the port allocation rather than assuming an additional dedicated capture interface, and specify the required source-port and destination-port layout before ordering.
Multigigabit access for wireless endpoints
SG550X-24P-K9-UK access ports stop at 1GbE. C1300-24MGP-4X provides eight 2.5GbE ports alongside 16 Gigabit ports, so its access-port speed mix differs.
Internally redundant power supply modules
Power redundancy on SG550X-24P-K9-UK depends on an external RPS connection, not a second internal supply bay. Internal dual-supply redundancy requires a different switch design.
More than eight stack members
Hardware stacking on SG550X-24P-K9-UK is limited to eight units. Ring or chain topology does not increase that member limit; larger stacks require another stacking architecture.
Cisco support after July 2027
SG550X-24P-K9-UK reaches its last date of support on July 31, 2027. The migration chain ends at C1300-24P-4X; intermediate replacement CBS350-24P-4X-UK is also discontinued.

SG550X-24P-K9-UK identifies the Gigabit 550X model with 24 PoE+ access ports and the UK regional ordering suffix. SG550X identifies the model group, 24 indicates access-port count, and P identifies the powered configuration. UK covers a regional group including the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK is managed through an HTTP/HTTPS web UI, Textview CLI over console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP. Additional paths include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager and Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, Active Advisor and Cisco Network Plug and Play with PnP Connect. USB supports image and configuration transfer.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK provides a shared 195W PoE budget across 24 powered access ports, with eight selected ports supporting 60W PoE. Other powered ports support 30W maximum output. Individual port limits remain subject to the overall budget, so endpoint demand must be allocated rather than assuming simultaneous maximum output everywhere.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK has four 10G uplinks: two dedicated SFP+ connections and two copper/SFP+ combo connections. Each combo connection activates one medium at a time. Optical options include SFP-10G-SR for multimode fiber and SFP-10G-LR for single-mode fiber. Specify optics and matching cabling separately from the base switch.
Eight SG550X-24P-K9-UK units can form a hardware stack using 10G copper or fiber connections. Hybrid stacks can mix SF550X, SG550X, SG550XG and SX550X models. Ring and chain arrangements are supported. Copper interconnect options include SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M and SFP-H10GB-CU5M; reserve the required interfaces when assigning uplinks.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK supports static routing, RIP v2, PBR and VRRP, with an IPv4 route capacity of 7168 routes. The routing configuration supports 256 IP interfaces across physical ports, LAGs, VLAN interfaces and loopbacks. IPv6 static routing supports 1792 routes, allowing separate consideration of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing requirements.
The Cisco 550X switch uses external RPS connectivity for power redundancy rather than two internal power supply modules. SG550X-24P-K9-UK normally receives power through its internal universal AC supply. Include compatible external backup-power hardware in procurement planning when redundancy is required; a second internal supply is not the redundancy path.
The Cisco SG550X-24P is a full-width 1U rack-mount switch measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high and 350 mm deep, with a weight of 4.72 kg. The base package includes mounting hardware, a power cord and a console cable. Confirm rack depth and cable clearance before specifying installation accessories.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK ended Cisco sales on July 30, 2022, and reaches its last date of support on July 31, 2027. Its initial replacement, CBS350-24P-4X-UK, is also discontinued, with sales ending October 29, 2024. The migration chain continues to C1300-24P-4X, a 24-port Gigabit PoE model with four 10G SFP+ uplinks.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK replaces SF550X-24P-K9-UK, which ended Cisco sales on June 18, 2020. The older model provides Fast Ethernet access, while the replacement provides Gigabit access. Cisco support for the older model ended June 30, 2025. Review configuration and endpoint power allocation rather than assuming an unchanged replacement.
ORM offers SG550X-24P-K9-UK new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by July 31, 2027, the last date of support.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK supplies PoE+ on 24 Gigabit access ports, while SG550X-24-K9-UK provides 24 Gigabit ports without PoE. The access-port count does not change. Both models are discontinued; installed-base replacements requiring endpoint power need the powered version, while installations using separately powered endpoints can use the unpowered configuration.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK provides 24 Gigabit PoE+ access ports, while SG550X-48P-K9-UK provides 48. Both models are discontinued. For matching an existing installation, the 24-port model corresponds to the lower-density requirement; the 48-port model corresponds to installations needing twice that access-port count. Record the required density explicitly on a replacement PO.
C1300-24P-4X provides four 10G SFP+ uplinks, whereas SG550X-24P-K9-UK has two dedicated SFP+ uplinks and two 10G copper/SFP+ combo uplinks. C1300-24P-4X is the migration-chain endpoint for fiber-uplink refreshes; the discontinued SG550X model retains built-in copper-uplink options for matching an existing installation that depends on copper uplink connectivity.
SG550X-24P-K9-UK draws a worst-case 269.2W with PoE at 110V, or 260.1W at 220V. System consumption without PoE output is 49.4W at 110V or 50.1W at 220V. Use input consumption rather than the endpoint power budget when sizing branch circuits or UPS capacity, because those figures represent different loads.
