SG550X-48MP-K9-EU combines 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports with four fixed 10G uplinks in a 1U, Layer 2+ managed switch for small and medium businesses. Two uplinks provide dedicated SFP+ connections; the other two pair a 10GBase-T connector with an SFP+ cage, with one medium active per combo port. The Cisco 550X Series shares data and control functions when stacked, rather than grouping independent switches behind a common management view. IP phones and wireless access points connect through the powered copper access interfaces. The discontinued SG550X-48P-K9-EU carries a smaller 382W endpoint-power allowance. The MP version serves buyers retaining this switch family who need a larger power allocation while keeping the same copper and fiber uplink choices.

176 Gbps switching capacity accommodates traffic across the access and uplink interfaces, while 130.94 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets. 740W of shared PoE capacity requires endpoint allocations to remain inside the total rather than assuming every powered port can reach its individual maximum simultaneously. RIP v2 supplies dynamic route exchange; static IPv4/IPv6 routing, VRRP, and PBR handle local forwarding and next-hop policies. SG550X-48MP-K9-EU provides 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for management and software functions. The Cisco SG550X-48MP shares 3 MB of packet buffer across its ports, while a 16000-entry MAC table sets the learned-address ceiling. Browser-based HTTP/HTTPS configuration, Textview CLI, and SNMPv3 support local or centralized administration. 7168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces define the IPv4 routing scale; IPv6 static routing supports 1792 routes. Power redundancy requires an external system rather than a second internal supply. 893.1W maximum AC consumption must be allowed for in circuit sizing.
ORM Systems offers SG550X-48MP-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished; new units carry up to a 3-year extended warranty, certified refurbished units up to 1 year, and every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on, POST, clean boot, rated-speed linking on every port, and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity, and connectivity accessories on the PO; Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty cannot extend beyond July 31, 2027. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, Net-30 is available for government, and RMA includes advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA in the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When the powered-device list includes equipment above ordinary PoE+ demand, 16 access ports support delivery of 60W each, while the remaining powered ports support a maximum of 30W each. Higher-draw devices therefore require deliberate port assignment. Identify their power requirements and specify the port allocation before the PO.
When expanding an existing hardware stack, ring and chain topologies allow Ethernet connections to carry the stack interconnect. SFP-H10GB-CU3M provides a 3 m copper connection between suitably positioned switches. Stacking uses available uplink interfaces, so confirm the topology, cable quantities, and remaining distribution connections before the PO.
When multiple sites are staged before shipment, dual software images and editable configuration files support a repeatable loading process. Secure Copy transfers configurations, while the embedded FindIT Network Probe avoids a separate probe host at each site. Specify the accepted image, configuration file, and staging checks on the PO.
Thirty-watt power on every access port
The 740W shared budget cannot supply 48 ports at 30W simultaneously, which requires 1440W. A higher-budget power design is required for that simultaneous endpoint load.
Multigigabit copper connections for endpoints
The 48 access ports stop at 1Gbps. The 10GBase-T connections are uplinks, not multigigabit access ports, so they do not change the endpoint-facing speed limit.
Cisco service beyond July 2027
Cisco service ends July 31, 2027. C1300-48FP-4X is the current migration endpoint; the intermediate CBS350-48FP-4X-EU is also discontinued and should not be treated as current.

SG550X-48MP-K9-EU identifies a Gigabit member of the Cisco 550X family with 48 access ports; MP selects the 740W PoE+ configuration. The EU suffix is a regional ordering code covering the European Union and additional named markets. Four 10G uplinks are built into this model.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU supports HTTP/HTTPS web management, Textview CLI through the RJ-45 console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded FindIT Network Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, Active Advisor, and the Cisco Network Plug and Play agent.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU provides a shared 740W PoE budget across 48 powered Gigabit access ports. Sixteen ports support 60W delivery, while the other powered ports support 30W each. Those individual limits do not mean every port can deliver its maximum simultaneously; all endpoint allocations draw from the same budget.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU has four fixed 10G uplinks: two dedicated SFP+ ports and two 10GBase-T/SFP+ combo ports. Each combo connection uses either its copper connector or its optical cage, not both simultaneously. SFP-10G-SR supports multimode fiber, while SFP-10G-LR supports single-mode fiber connections.
Cisco 550X hardware stacking supports eight members managed as one system, with a maximum of 400 Ethernet ports. SF550X, SG550X, SG550XG, and SX550X models can share a hybrid stack. Interconnects use 10G copper or fiber connections, with ring and chain topologies and link aggregation available.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU provides Layer 2+ routing with static IPv4/IPv6 routes, RIP v2, VRRP, and PBR. IPv4 routing supports 7168 routes and 256 IP interfaces; IPv6 static routing supports 1792 routes and 256 IPv6 interfaces. Size both interface requirements and route counts before selecting the switch for routed access.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022, and Cisco support ends July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. The original CBS350-48FP-4X-EU replacement is also discontinued. C1300-48FP-4X is the current migration endpoint rather than that discontinued intermediate model.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU replaces the discontinued SF550X-48MP-K9-EU, moving its 48 access connections from 10/100 to 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The older model reached end of sale on June 18, 2020, and Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Both use fixed 10G uplinks, but the Gigabit replacement is also discontinued.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU is offered new sealed or certified refurbished. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty for eligible units cannot extend beyond July 31, 2027.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU provides a 740W PoE budget, while SG550X-48P-K9-EU provides 382W across the same access-port count. Both models are discontinued. For an existing installation, the MP version accommodates a larger aggregate power allocation; the P version suits powered-device lists that remain within its lower shared allowance.
SG550X-48MP-K9-EU offers 48 Gigabit access ports, whereas SG550X-24MPP-K9-EU offers 24. Both are discontinued Cisco 550X variants. The 48-port model addresses denser existing installations that need more endpoint connections per chassis; the 24-port model addresses smaller legacy installations where fewer physical access connections are required.
C1300-48FP-4X is the current migration endpoint, whereas SG550X-48MP-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022. The intermediate CBS350-48FP-4X-EU replacement is also discontinued. The older switch addresses existing 550X installations; buyers specifying a current migration model should evaluate C1300-48FP-4X rather than stopping at the intermediate replacement.
The Cisco 550X SG550X-48MP occupies 1U and measures 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 450 mm deep, with a weight of 6.69 kg. The original package includes a mounting kit. Confirm usable cabinet depth and the required mounting hardware when preparing the purchase order.
The Cisco 550X SG550X-48MP uses an internal universal AC supply; power redundancy requires an external redundant power system rather than a second internal supply. Input is 100-240V AC. Maximum consumption with PoE is 893.1W at 110V or 878W at 220V, which must be included in electrical sizing.
