SG550X-24P-K9-EU is a managed, 24-port Gigabit PoE+ access switch for small-business networks that need powered Ethernet endpoints and copper or fiber connections to distribution. Four fixed 10G uplinks comprise two dedicated SFP+ slots and two copper/SFP+ combo pairs, providing media choices without an uplink card. The 1U rack-mount chassis belongs to the Cisco 550X Series Stackable Managed Switches family and supports Layer 2+ operation. The discontinued SG550X-24MP-K9-EU differs by providing a 382W PoE allocation. Phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras can share access connectivity, while the selected uplink medium determines the cabling between the access switch and upstream equipment.

128 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking traffic across the available interfaces. 95.23 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packet size sets the packet-rate ceiling for minimum-size Ethernet traffic. 195W of shared PoE power must be allocated across connected devices; eight powered ports support 60W, while the other powered ports support 30W. Static routing and RIP v2 handle routed traffic, with PBR for next-hop selection and VRRP versions 2 and 3 for gateway redundancy. SG550X-24P-K9-EU carries 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for system operation and image storage. A dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer serves the ports, and the MAC table holds 16000 entries. STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP support loop control and link aggregation. Browser configuration, Textview CLI and SNMP provide management paths, while DHCP snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection enforce address-binding checks. The fixed uplink layout does not accept removable network cards.
Order SG550X-24P-K9-EU in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying optics and required accessories on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. ORM warranty is up to 3-year extended on new units or up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by July 31, 2027, its last date of support. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement.

Replacing an SF550X-24P-K9-EU installation starts with a lifecycle and configuration audit because Cisco service for that older model ended June 30, 2025. Review the existing endpoint inventory, configuration and uplink media rather than assume identical deployment behavior. Specify the replacement configuration and migration requirements before the PO.
Extending an existing 550X stack requires a ring or chain topology plan and an allocation of interfaces for inter-switch connections. SFP-H10GB-CU3M provides a 3 m copper interconnect for nearby equipment. Confirm member compatibility, physical separation and the remaining distribution connections before specifying interconnect quantities on the PO.
For branch rollouts in the EU and UAE, the -EU regional ordering code covers both destinations. Regional identification does not remove the procurement need to match the power cord and local installation requirements. Specify the destination country and required mounting accessories before approving the purchase order.
Simultaneous 30W on every port
The shared 195W PoE allocation cannot sustain the maximum 30W draw across all 24 powered access ports simultaneously. Total endpoint demand must remain within the available allocation.
Fanless operation in occupied rooms
Three fans and one redundant fan provide active cooling rather than fanless operation. SG550X-24P-K9-EU therefore does not meet a requirement for a passively cooled switch.
Manufacturer support beyond July 2027
SG550X-24P-K9-EU reaches its last date of support on July 31, 2027. C1300-24P-4X is the current replacement after the discontinued CBS350-24P-4X-EU.

SG550X-24P-K9-EU identifies the Gigabit 550X model with 24 PoE+ access ports and four 10G uplinks. The 24 denotes access-port count, P marks the powered variant, and -EU is the regional suffix covering the EU and other designated markets. Retain -K9-EU when specifying the complete order code.
Cisco 550X Series switches support an HTTP/HTTPS web UI, Textview CLI through the RJ-45 console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP management. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager, the embedded FindIT Network Probe and FindIT Network Discovery Utility. Browser configuration includes simple and advanced modes, wizards and a customizable dashboard.
SG550X-24P-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022, and its last date of support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. Remaining resale stock does not restart these milestones, so deployment planning should account for the support cutoff.
New sealed and certified refurbished SG550X-24P-K9-EU units are offered with up to 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Every condition has 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by the July 31, 2027 last date of support.
SG550X-24P-K9-EU replaces SF550X-24P-K9-EU, the discontinued 24-port Fast Ethernet PoE stackable model. The older switch reached end of sale on June 18, 2020, and Cisco service ended June 30, 2025. A replacement order should include a configuration review rather than assume identical settings and behavior.
SG550X-24P-K9-EU provides a shared 195W PoE budget across 24 powered access ports, with 60W capability on eight ports and 30W on the others. The per-port maximum is not available simultaneously across all ports. Add the intended endpoint loads, including high-draw devices using the selected 60W ports.
Cisco 550X Series hardware stacking connects eight members with ring or chain topologies using 10G copper or fiber interfaces. SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M and SFP-H10GB-CU5M provide 1 m, 3 m and 5 m copper links. Stack interconnects use network interfaces, so allocate connections before ordering cables and planning the remaining distribution links.
SG550X-24MP-K9-EU offers 382W of PoE power, where SG550X-24P-K9-EU has 195W, with the same 24-port Gigabit PoE+ access configuration. Both models are discontinued. For legacy sparing, the 195W model matches smaller aggregate endpoint power allocations, while the 382W model accommodates a larger powered-device allocation within an existing installation.
SG550X-48P-K9-EU has 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports, compared with 24 on SG550X-24P-K9-EU; both are discontinued 550X models. That difference changes how many endpoints connect to one chassis. The 24-port model matches a smaller legacy closet, while 48 ports accommodate a higher endpoint count without adding a second chassis.
C1300-24P-4X provides four 10G SFP+ uplinks, where SG550X-24P-K9-EU combines two dedicated SFP+ interfaces with two copper/SFP+ combo pairs. C1300-24P-4X is the current replacement after discontinued CBS350-24P-4X-EU. The current model matches fiber uplink plans; the older model remains relevant to legacy spares requiring copper uplink connectivity.
