SG550X-48MP-K9 is a Layer 2+ managed access switch with 48 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports and four fixed 10G uplinks for small-business networks. Two uplinks are dedicated SFP+ interfaces; two are shared 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo interfaces, with only one medium active on each combo connection. The rack-mount 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 550X Series and connects phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras without separate endpoint power wiring. The discontinued SG550X-48P-K9-NA carries a smaller 382W PoE allocation, distinguishing the two power configurations. The SG550X-48MP also supports VLAN segmentation and automatic voice VLAN assignment, keeping endpoint connectivity and traffic policy within the same managed chassis rather than requiring an unmanaged access layer.
SG550X-48MP-K9 price for new stock is $2,094.75. SG550X-48MP-K9 refurb price is $1,217.98. SG550X-48MP-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

176 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the built-in interfaces. 130.94 Mpps forwarding handles minimum-size, 64-byte packets at the published wire-speed rate. 740W of shared PoE capacity requires endpoint demand to be allocated across the powered connections. Static routing and RIP v2 provide inter-VLAN forwarding and dynamic route exchange, while VRRP supplies gateway redundancy and PBR directs selected traffic toward a specified next hop. SG550X-48MP-K9 combines 512 MB of DRAM with 256 MB of flash for its management software and configuration storage. A dynamically shared 3 MB packet buffer absorbs traffic bursts across the interfaces. The forwarding engine learns 16000 MAC addresses, while 3000 ACL entries support ingress and egress traffic controls. Eight hardware queues provide strict-priority or weighted round-robin scheduling. STP, RSTP and MSTP control Layer 2 loops, and LACP groups links. Browser-based HTTP/HTTPS management and the scriptable Textview CLI provide graphical and command-line administration without a removable uplink card architecture.
ORM Systems offers SG550X-48MP-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new hardware and up to 1 year on refurbished hardware; every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, optics bay recognition, firmware verification and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and required accessories on the purchase order; Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime warranty is bounded by the July 31, 2027 last date of support. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government buyers have Net-30, and RMA with advance replacement is available across UK, EU, US and MEA regions.

When replacing a discontinued SF550X-48MP-K9-NA within an existing installation, the Gigabit replacement preserves the small-business stacking approach rather than introducing a chassis system. Refresh purchases should preserve the required regional ordering form and installation accessories. Check the existing stack configuration and approved replacement scope before issuing the PO.
When an endpoint expansion includes higher-draw devices, 16 access ports support 60W PoE, while the other powered access ports deliver a maximum of 30W each. Individual port capability does not guarantee simultaneous maximum output. Identify the required high-power connections and size aggregate endpoint demand before specifying the order.
When a replacement switch must be staged before entering service, port mirroring accepts eight source ports for one destination, and RSPAN carries mirrored traffic across a Layer 2 domain. A staging order should account for the intended monitoring connection and approved configuration files. Specify the capture path and acceptance checks before the PO.
Multi-Gigabit copper endpoint connections
The 48 access ports stop at Gigabit Ethernet; the 10G interfaces provide uplink and stacking connectivity. Faster copper endpoint access requires a different switch.
Dual internal redundant power supplies
Power redundancy uses an external RPS2300 system, not two internal supply modules. SG550X-48MP-K9 does not meet a requirement for dual internal redundant power supplies.
Cisco support beyond July 2027
Cisco service ends July 31, 2027. The current migration endpoint is C1300-48FP-4X; the intermediate CBS350-48FP-4X-NA replacement is also discontinued, so replacement planning should follow the complete migration chain.

SG550X-48MP-K9 identifies the 550X Gigabit model with 48 PoE+ ports and the 740W power configuration. SG550X is the model group, 48 is the access-port count, and MP selects this PoE configuration. The complete United States ordering form is SG550X-48MP-K9-NA, with the regional suffix appended after K9.
SG550X-48MP-K9 supports HTTP/HTTPS web management, Textview CLI through the console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP. Additional management paths include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded FindIT Network Probe, and Active Advisor. The web interface includes simple and advanced modes, configuration wizards and a customizable dashboard.
SG550X-48MP-K9 provides a shared 740W PoE budget across 48 powered access ports, including 16 ports supporting 60W PoE. The remaining powered ports support a maximum of 30W each. Output is allocated until the shared budget is reached, so endpoint counts must be checked against combined power demand.
SG550X-48MP-K9 has two dedicated 10G SFP+ uplinks and two 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo uplinks. Each combo connection activates either its copper interface or its SFP+ interface, not both simultaneously. SFP-10G-SR supports multimode fiber connections, while SFP-10G-LR supports single-mode fiber connections; select the transceiver for the installed fiber plant.
SG550X-48MP-K9 supports an eight-member hardware stack using standard 10G copper or fiber interconnects. Ring and chain arrangements are supported, and link aggregation can combine interconnects. Supported direct-attach choices include SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M and SFP-H10GB-CU5M. Reserve the interconnect interfaces before assigning the remaining connections to upstream links.
The Cisco 550X Series provides static routing, RIP v2, VRRP and PBR, with 7168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces. IPv6 static routing supports 1792 routes and 256 IPv6 interfaces. Routed interfaces can be configured on physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopback interfaces.
No, SG550X-48MP-K9 uses an internal universal AC supply and obtains power redundancy through an external RPS2300 system rather than a second internal supply module. The internal AC input accepts 100-240V. Cooling uses four fans with one redundant fan, which is separate from power-supply redundancy.
SG550X-48MP-K9 reached end-of-sale on July 30, 2022, and its last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. The direct replacement, CBS350-48FP-4X-NA, is also discontinued; following the migration chain forward leads to the current C1300-48FP-4X.
SG550X-48MP-K9 replaces the discontinued SF550X-48MP-K9-AU, SF550X-48MP-K9-EU, SF550X-48MP-K9-NA and SF550X-48MP-K9-UK regional models, whose end-of-sale date was June 18, 2020. The replacement changes the access connections from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit Ethernet. Match the regional ordering form and review the existing installation before approving the replacement hardware.
ORM offers SG550X-48MP-K9 new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime hardware warranty includes next-business-day advance replacement where available, otherwise same-day ship; eligible Cisco service ends July 31, 2027.
SG550X-48MP-K9 provides a 740W PoE budget, while SG550X-48P-K9-NA provides 382W. Both configurations have 48 Gigabit PoE+ access ports and the same fixed 10G uplink arrangement. Both are discontinued: the higher-budget model suits legacy installations with greater aggregate endpoint demand, while the lower-budget model fits smaller powered loads.
SG550X-48MP-K9 has 48 Gigabit access ports, while SG550X-24MPP-K9-NA has 24; both provide a 740W PoE budget. Both legacy configurations are discontinued. The 48-port model fits existing installations needing greater connection density, while the 24-port model suits legacy requirements with fewer connections sharing the same total power allocation.
C1300-48FP-4X provides four 10G SFP+ uplinks, whereas SG550X-48MP-K9 provides two dedicated SFP+ uplinks plus two copper/SFP+ combo uplinks. The discontinued SG550X model suits maintenance of an existing 550X installation. C1300-48FP-4X is the current migration endpoint for buyers replacing the older hardware rather than extending that installation.
