WS-C3560G-24PS-S provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet copper access ports with PoE and four fixed Gigabit SFP uplinks in a rack-mount 1U chassis. This managed Layer 3 enterprise access switch ships with IP Base rather than the broader IP Services feature set. The Catalyst 3560G combines powered endpoint connections with separate fiber uplinks for enterprise LAN access and branch offices. IP phones, compatible wireless access points and video surveillance endpoints can receive power through their network connections. The discontinued WS-C3560G-24TS-S removes PoE from the corresponding data-only configuration. Cisco IOS supplies the switching software, while the fixed uplink architecture means uplink speed is not expanded by installing a removable network card. Specify the required image and uplink media when matching an existing installation.

32 Gbps forwarding bandwidth defines the traffic capacity of the switching hardware. 38.7 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packet size provides a separate packet-processing figure for evaluating small-packet workloads. 370W of available PoE power supplies attached endpoints independently of the switch electronics. Static routing, RIPv1 and RIPv2 support basic routed configurations; EIGRP Stub is available with Cisco IOS 12.2(25)SEE or later. WS-C3560G-24PS-S has 128 MB of DRAM and 32 MB of flash memory for software operation and image storage. The hardware supports 12000 MAC addresses and a maximum of 11000 unicast routes, with resource allocation governed by the configuration. STP, RSTP and MSTP manage Layer 2 loop prevention, while LACP supports aggregated Ethernet connections. Browser-based device management, console access and SNMP provide configuration and monitoring paths. Hardware switch stacking is not supported: centralized cluster management does not create a shared switching stack.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties of up to 3 years extended for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; Cisco service ended January 31, 2018. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links, PoE output under load on every powered port, firmware verification and configuration wiping to factory default. Specify the condition and required accessories on the purchase order; every condition carries 30-day returns, with terms applying. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

When replacing access hardware for existing phones, wireless access points or cameras, confirm each endpoint accepts the switch's PoE implementation. Each powered connection supports a maximum of 15.4W. Endpoints needing more power require a different power arrangement, so record endpoint power requirements before specifying the purchase order.
When a staging bench needs a short connection between compatible switches, CAB-SFP-50CM= provides a 500 mm SFP interconnect without separate optical transceivers for that connection. The connection remains an Ethernet link rather than a hardware stack. Confirm equipment spacing and include CAB-SFP-50CM= on the purchase order.
When fitting a replacement into a branch equipment area, allow 76 mm of clearance around ventilation openings and retain access to the rear connections. Wall installation requires the front panel to face upward. Check ventilation, orientation and mounting hardware before approving the location and specifying the installation package.
10G uplinks to distribution
WS-C3560G-24PS-S has fixed 1G SFP uplinks, not 10G uplinks. The current successor C9300L-24P-4X-A retains 24 powered access ports and provides four fixed 10G uplinks.
Endpoints requiring more than 15.4W
Each WS-C3560G-24PS-S powered port is limited to 15.4W. Higher-draw endpoints cannot receive their required power from these ports and need another power arrangement.
A shared hardware switching stack
WS-C3560G-24PS-S does not support hardware switch stacking. Ethernet interconnections and centralized cluster management do not combine multiple chassis into one hardware switching stack.

WS-C3560G-24PS-S identifies a Catalyst 3560G Gigabit switch with 24 powered copper ports, four SFP uplinks and IP Base software. WS-C3560G identifies the family, 24 identifies access-port quantity, PS identifies the powered configuration with SFP uplinks, and the final S selects IP Base rather than IP Services.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S supports a browser-based device manager, console CLI, Telnet, SSHv2 with a cryptographic image, Cisco Network Assistant, CiscoView and SNMP management. CiscoWorks LMS can also manage the switch. Network Assistant runs on a Windows PC; SSHv2 requires the appropriate software image rather than simply a configured management address.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S is discontinued, with Cisco sales ending January 30, 2013, and its last date of support on January 31, 2018. Cisco vulnerability and security support ended January 30, 2016. The switch is therefore a legacy hardware purchase, not an actively supported Cisco access-switch order.
ORM offers WS-C3560G-24PS-S new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Returns are available for 30 days in every condition; terms apply. Cisco's hardware warranty and service have ended, with support ending January 31, 2018.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S ships with IP Base, while IP Services provides the broader routing feature set through an upgrade. CD-3560G-EMI= is the Gigabit-model upgrade kit. The factory model identification does not change after an image upgrade, so confirm the running image and entitlement rather than relying only on the chassis part number.
The Catalyst 3560G-24PS provides a 370W PoE budget and a maximum of 15.4W per powered port. The powered access ports support IEEE 802.3af and Cisco pre-standard PoE endpoints. Confirm endpoint compatibility and individual power requirements before ordering; a larger total budget does not raise the per-port power limit.
Catalyst 3560G uplinks accept compatible Gigabit SFP transceivers, including GLC-SX-MM= for multimode fiber and GLC-LH-SM= for suitable multimode or single-mode connections. GLC-ZX-SM= is another supported single-mode option. Select the transceiver against the installed fiber and optical link requirements; these SFP connections do not provide 10G uplink operation.
No, WS-C3560G-24PS-S cannot form a hardware switch stack. Centralized cluster management and ordinary Ethernet connections are separate capabilities, not stacking. CAB-SFP-50CM= provides a short SFP interconnect between compatible switches, but does not add stack ports or combine their forwarding hardware into one switching stack.
The Catalyst 3560G-24PS accepts 100-240V AC through its internal supply and has a maximum power consumption of 520W. PWR-RPS2300 can supply external backup power through the RPS connection. External backup does not make the chassis a dual-internal-supply switch; specify the power arrangement separately from endpoint PoE requirements.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S provides PoE on its copper access ports, whereas WS-C3560G-24TS-S is the data-only configuration. Both models are discontinued. The powered model suits legacy installations that supply endpoint power over Ethernet; the data-only model suits existing installations whose connected equipment uses its own power source.
WS-C3560G-24PS-S ships with IP Base, while WS-C3560G-24PS-E ships with IP Services. Both models are discontinued. IP Base suits legacy switching and basic routing requirements; IP Services suits existing installations requiring the broader routing feature set, including OSPF and full EIGRP, without first changing the supplied software tier.
C9300L-24P-4X-A has four fixed 10G uplinks, whereas WS-C3560G-24PS-S has four fixed 1G SFP uplinks. The replacement chain passes through discontinued WS-C3560X-24P-S and discontinued WS-C3650-24PD-S before reaching C9300L-24P-4X-A. The original suits legacy hardware matching; the current successor suits purchases requiring the faster uplink configuration.
