The Cisco 12000 16-Slot chassis features 16 modular card slots, two alarm panels, two high-capacity blowers, and four AC hot-swap power supplies in an 8-foot rack form factor.
The chassis measures 226.4 cm (89.1 in) in height, 63.5 cm (25 in) in width, 95.3 cm (37.5 in) in depth, and weighs approximately 317 kg (700 lb) fully populated.
Under full load, the chassis draws up to 12 kW, shared across its four AC power modules, providing N+1 power redundancy.
The chassis supports Cisco 12000 Series Line Cards, OC-48/STM-16 and OC-192/STM-64 interface processors, Multiservice Processing Modules (MSPM), and advanced services modules certified for the 12000 platform.
