C9350-48S provides 48 fixed 1G SFP ports for Layer 3 enterprise fiber access, with a separate modular uplink bay instead of built-in uplinks. The bay ships empty and accepts C9350-NM-2C, C9350-NM-8Y, or C9350-NM-8M, making module selection part of the initial hardware configuration. This non-PoE, 1U rack-mount switch belongs to the Cisco C9350 Series Smart Switches and serves campus distribution closets and fiber-connected access networks. The fiber access and aggregation switch targets connections where optical media provides the endpoint link, rather than copper cabling that also carries power. C9350-24S reduces the fixed fiber downlink count to 24 for smaller builds. Uplink choice remains separate from access-port selection, allowing the purchase order to distinguish the chassis from its connection hardware.

496 Gbps switching capacity and 369.024 Mpps forwarding set the standalone throughput and packet-processing limits for traffic sizing. OSPF is limited to 1000 routes under Cisco Switching Essentials; RIP, EIGRP Stub, PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub Multicast support routed-access configurations within that entitlement. C9350-48S combines 16 GB of DRAM with 18 GB of flash to support Cisco IOS XE operation and local software storage. The Cisco Silicon One A100/L ASIC handles forwarding, while network scale reaches 64000 MAC entries and 192000 IPv4 routes; the hardware route total remains distinct from license-specific protocol limits. NETCONF and RESTCONF with YANG models provide programmable configuration, and streaming telemetry supplies operational data to monitoring systems. Three C9350-FAN-I= fan modules move air from front to back, so rack airflow must align with the cooling path. Full Flexible NetFlow and application-hosting automation require Cisco Switching Advantage rather than the baseline tier.
Order C9350-48S in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying quantities and the required hardware configuration on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, optics bay recognition, and a clean boot; firmware is verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM Systems provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers original ownership and is limited to five years after a discontinuance announcement; enterprise and volume orders can use PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US, and MEA.
| Key Specs | Key Spec Values |
|---|---|

Port Configuration | 48 x 1G SFP / Modular uplink bay |
Stacking | StackWise-1.6T / 8 members |
Cooling | 3 C9350-FAN-I= fan modules |
When a new fiber access build enters staging, the required software baseline is Cisco IOS XE 26.1.2. An image used for an earlier C9350 deployment is not automatically sufficient. Specify the required release and complete boot and interface checks before the purchase order is finalized.
When sites share hardware but retain different configuration workflows, cloud configuration provides a read-only Cloud CLI, while device configuration allows read/write Cloud CLI through the Meraki dashboard. Decide which system owns configuration at each site, and specify the operating mode before assigning equipment to the rollout.
When maintenance stock is being planned, N+1 cooling allows operation with one fan failure. The spare fan is C9350-FAN-I=. Keep the cooling spare distinct from complete-switch inventory, and specify the required spare quantities alongside the hardware condition and regional RMA arrangements on the purchase order.
PoE power for copper endpoints
C9350-48S provides fiber access without endpoint power. C9350-48P supplies PoE+ through 48 copper access ports, so changing models also changes the endpoint connection medium.
10G or 25G fiber downlinks
C9350-48S fixed downlinks operate at 1G. C9350-12Y supports 1G/10G/25G fiber downlinks but reduces the fixed access-port count from 48 to 12.

C9350-48S identifies a Cisco C9350 switch with 48 fixed 1G fiber ports. C9350 names the series, 48 gives the port count, and S identifies the fiber configuration. No license-tier or regional suffix is attached; software entitlement and management mode are selected separately from the hardware.
The C9350 series supports WebUI, local CLI through console or SSH, NETCONF/RESTCONF APIs, Cisco Catalyst Center, and the Meraki dashboard. Cloud configuration exposes read-only Cloud CLI; device configuration permits read/write Cloud CLI. Select the configuration source before onboarding so dashboard operations match the intended ownership of device configuration.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for C9350. C9350-48S has no announced end-of-sale milestone driving a purchase deadline. Specify the required software release, uplink module, and software entitlement as separate items so lifecycle planning does not substitute for checking whether the ordered configuration is complete.
ORM Systems offers C9350-48S new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the original owner, limited to five years after a discontinuance announcement.
C9350-48S uses Cisco Switching Essentials or Cisco Switching Advantage through a Cisco Networking Subscription or Enterprise Agreement, with a 36-month minimum for a new subscription. The 48-port license PIDs are LIC-CS-AC1-L-E and LIC-CS-AC1-L-A. Assign licensing to the intended Cisco Smart Account; the hardware PID does not select a feature tier.
The C9350 series continues running on-device operating-system functions after the switching subscription expires, but access to Meraki dashboard and Catalyst Center management becomes restricted. Subscription-based support also ends. Renew the subscription when continued controller management, monitoring, and the associated support entitlement are required for the installation.
C9350-48S accepts C9350-NM-2C, C9350-NM-8Y, and C9350-NM-8M, with no uplink module included in the base chassis. C9350-NM-2C provides two 100G/40G ports; C9350-NM-8Y provides eight 25G/10G/1G ports or four 50G ports. C9350-NM-8M provides eight copper Multigigabit ports. Select the module and compatible fiber optics separately.
C9350-48S participates in eight-member StackWise-1.6T stacks with 1.6 Tbps of stack bandwidth. Members must be C9350 models using the same license level. Order STACK-T1A-50CM=, STACK-T1A-1M=, or STACK-T1A-3M= for the data-stack connections; stacking cables from earlier switch generations are not compatible with these rear-panel connectors.
C9350-48S supports OSPF with up to 1000 routes under Cisco Switching Essentials, plus RIP and EIGRP Stub. PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub Multicast are also available at that level. The 192000-route hardware total is a separate scaling figure and does not remove the Essentials OSPF limit.
C9350-48S ships with one PWR-C2-500WAC-I AC power supply and supports two additional supplies for redundancy. A second supply is optional rather than included as standard. Specify each additional supply and its regional power cable separately when the order requires redundant internal power.
C9350-48S provides 48 fixed 1G SFP ports, while C9350-24S provides 24 fixed 1G SFP ports. Both are fiber access switches with separately selected modular uplinks. Choose C9350-48S when the connection inventory needs the higher port count; C9350-24S suits smaller fiber access builds.
C9350-48S offers fiber access without PoE, while C9350-48P supplies 30W PoE+ per copper access port within a shared budget. C9350-48P serves powered copper endpoints, whereas C9350-48S serves fiber-connected equipment without delivering endpoint power. Select between them according to endpoint media and whether power must travel over the access link.
C9350-48S has 48 fixed 1G SFP ports, while C9350-12Y has 12 fixed SFP28 ports supporting 1G/10G/25G. The faster fiber model also has fewer access connections. C9350-48S suits larger inventories of Gigabit fiber links; C9350-12Y suits smaller groups of equipment requiring higher downlink speeds.
Cisco Switching Advantage adds LAN automation and application-hosting automation to the capabilities available with Cisco Switching Essentials on C9350. Choose LIC-CS-AC1-L-E for Essentials or LIC-CS-AC1-L-A for Advantage on the 48-port model. These are software entitlements for the same hardware, not different port configurations or management-specific chassis.
