C9350-48HM is a managed Layer 3 enterprise access switch with 48 multigigabit copper downlinks supporting speeds through 2.5G and PoE++ with 90W per-port capability. Power allocation depends on the installed supplies rather than the port rating alone. An empty uplink bay accepts C9350-NM-2C, C9350-NM-8Y or C9350-NM-8M, allowing the uplink configuration to be selected separately from the access hardware. The C9350 series connects wireless access points, IP phones and powered building endpoints in a full-width 1U chassis. Compared with this model, C9350-48U provides 1G downlinks and 60W per-port UPOE. The hardware belongs to the Cisco C9000 Smart Switches family and supports both locally controlled and cloud-managed operating arrangements.

640 Gbps switching capacity and 476.16 Mpps forwarding support the access and uplink interfaces without substituting the ASIC's internal throughput rating for switch performance. 570W of shared PoE power is available with the standard supply; additional supplies change the available endpoint budget. C9350-48HM combines 16 GB DRAM, 18 GB flash and a Silicon One A100/L ASIC. Its hardware supports 64000 MAC entries and a published total of 192000 IPv4 routes, distinct from license-specific protocol limits. At the Switching Essentials level, routed access includes RIP, EIGRP Stub and OSPF with a 1000-route limit, alongside PBR, VRRP and PIM Stub Multicast. Switching Advantage unlocks additional segmentation and security capabilities. Three C9350-FAN-I= fan modules provide active cooling; this is not a fanless chassis.
ORM Systems supplies C9350-48HM new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified, and configuration wiped to factory default. Select the condition and submit a PO with the required configuration and quantity. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty, refurbished units carry up to 1 year, and both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply, while Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the original owner and is limited to 5 years after a discontinuance announcement. Enterprise and volume orders support government Net-30 and RMA with advance replacement across the UK, EU, US and MEA.
| Key Specs | Key Spec Values |
|---|---|
Operating System | Cisco IOS XE |
Port Configuration | 48 x 2.5G PoE++ / modular uplink bay |
PoE Budget | 570W standard / 1420W with dual PWR-C2-850WAC-I |
Stacking | StackWise-1.6T / 8 members |
Cooling | 3 C9350-FAN-I= fan modules |
When a wireless rollout introduces this hardware into an existing software standard, the minimum release is Cisco IOS XE 26.2.1. An older image used elsewhere in the estate is not sufficient for this model. Specify the required release and complete the staging checks before the purchase order is finalized.
When several sites share a procurement program, separate hardware quantities from license ownership and account assignment. LIC-CS-AC1-L-E and LIC-CS-AC1-L-A cover the large access category. Identify the receiving Smart Account and Virtual Account, then specify the required entitlement and assignment for each device before issuing the purchase order.
When an existing installation needs shared power between switches, size the power-sharing domain separately from the data stack. StackPower+ supports four switches in a ring and uses CAB-SPWR-35CM= or CAB-SPWR-100CM= connections. Specify the power-ring membership, cable lengths and supply configuration before adding the expansion equipment to the order.
10G speeds on fixed downlinks
C9350-48HM fixed downlinks stop at 2.5G. C9350-48HX provides 48 multigigabit downlinks supporting 10G for purchases that require higher endpoint connection speeds.
Fanless operation in occupied rooms
C9350-48HM uses three C9350-FAN-I= fan modules and does not provide fanless operation. A purchase requiring passive cooling needs different hardware rather than a different configuration of this chassis.

C9350 identifies the C9350 Smart Switches family, 48 denotes 48 ports, and HM identifies the 2.5G multigigabit model with 90W UPOE+. C9350-48HM uses one hardware PID across regions and management preferences; the part number does not select a license tier.
C9350-48HM supports local console and SSH CLI, Cisco Catalyst Center, or the Meraki dashboard. Cloud configuration provides read-only Cloud CLI; device configuration permits read/write Cloud CLI alongside local configuration. Select the configuration source and management mode before provisioning the switch.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for C9350. C9350-48HM remains available to order within the C9350 Smart Switches family. Buyers replacing existing equipment should verify the required software release and licensing arrangement before fixing the installation and acceptance schedule.
ORM offers C9350-48HM new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for either condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the original owner, limited to 5 years after discontinuance is announced.
C9350-48HM supports Switching Essentials or Switching Advantage through Cisco Networking Subscription, with a 36-month minimum for a new subscription. Existing Meraki co-termination customers can instead use Essentials or Advantage Classic licensing. Cisco Switching OS entitlements are perpetual, while subscription-based services require their corresponding term license.
C9350-48HM provides a shared 570W PoE budget with its standard PWR-C2-850WAC-I supply, increasing to 1420W with two PWR-C2-850WAC-I supplies. Each powered port supports 90W UPOE+, but the per-port capability does not mean every port can draw that amount simultaneously under the standard configuration.
C9350-48HM accepts C9350-NM-2C for two 100G/40G connections, C9350-NM-8Y for eight 25G connections or four 50G connections, and C9350-NM-8M for multigigabit copper connections. The base switch has an empty uplink bay, so the purchase order must identify the required module separately.
StackWise-1.6T stacks eight C9350 members with 1.6 Tbps stacking bandwidth, provided the members use the same license level. Select STACK-T1A-50CM=, STACK-T1A-1M= or STACK-T1A-3M= for the physical layout. Switches from other families cannot be added to this data stack as members.
C9350-48HM supports 90W UPOE+ per port, while C9350-48U supports 60W UPOE per port. C9350-48U also has 1G rather than 2.5G downlinks. The former suits higher-power multigigabit endpoint requirements; the latter suits endpoints whose power and connection-speed requirements remain within its lower ratings.
C9350-48HX ships with PWR-C2-1600WAC-I, whereas C9350-48HM ships with PWR-C2-850WAC-I. The larger default supply changes the starting power configuration rather than eliminating endpoint-budget checks. C9350-48HX suits orders requiring that larger standard supply; C9350-48HM suits designs retaining PWR-C2-850WAC-I as their initial supply.
C9350-48HM provides 48 copper access ports, whereas C9350-24HX provides 24. Both occupy one rack unit, so the port-density choice changes the number of endpoint connections accommodated per chassis. C9350-24HX suits smaller endpoint counts; C9350-48HM suits purchases requiring the larger access-port count.
