Multigigabit Data Access for Enterprise Campus Networks

C9350-48TX provides 48 data-only copper access ports with multigigabit rates through 10G for enterprise campus and branch networks. The managed Layer 3 switch uses a modular uplink bay rather than built-in uplink ports, with fiber and copper connectivity available through separately selected network modules. Its 1U rack chassis belongs to the Cisco C9350 Series Smart Switches and serves device aggregation and endpoints with their own power provision. C9350-48HX is the nearest powered sibling, adding 90W UPOE+ at the access ports. Native downlinks also support lower Ethernet rates, allowing the access configuration to accommodate mixed-speed copper connections without using an uplink module to establish the downlink speed. The base configuration does not include an uplink module.

C9350-48TX price is $13,258.35. C9350-48TX is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Technical Details

1760 Gbps standalone switching capacity provides the maximum bandwidth figure for the access and uplink configuration, while 1309.44 Mpps forwarding supplies the separate packet-processing figure for traffic sizing. 3360 Gbps switching capacity with stacking and 2499.84 Mpps stacked forwarding distinguish stacked operation from the standalone chassis. C9350-48TX uses two Cisco Silicon One A100/L ASICs; its 16 GB DRAM and 18 GB flash provide system memory and local image storage. The C9350 switch runs Cisco IOS XE, with release 17.18.1 as the minimum software requirement for this model. Scalability includes 64000 MAC addresses and a platform total of 192000 IPv4 routes, with IPv4 and IPv6 entries sharing forwarding-table resources. Three fan modules provide N+1 cooling and front-to-back airflow, with C9350-FAN-I= available as the spare fan module. The default PWR-C2-500WAC-I occupies one of three power bays, leaving additional internal supplies optional rather than included.

Ordering

ORM Systems offers C9350-48TX new sealed and certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on refurbished units, and 30-day returns for either condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the original owner and is limited to five years after discontinuance. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for rated-speed port links, clean boot, PSU status and fan status; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and required accessories on the purchase order; enterprise and volume orders can use PO acceptance, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

Best For

Multi-Site Management Standardization

Where branch and campus switches must enter a common operational workflow, C9350 management can use Catalyst Center or the Meraki dashboard without selecting a different hardware PID. Device-source configuration retains console and SSH access. Specify the management mode, configuration ownership, and license assignment before issuing the purchase order.

Shared Power Expansion

Where an access stack needs pooled power rather than independent power provisioning for every member, StackPower+ supports a four-switch power ring. CAB-SPWR-35CM= and CAB-SPWR-100CM= connect the power domain. Specify power-ring membership and cable lengths independently of the data-stack plan before adding the hardware to the purchase order.

Application Hosting Staging

When access-switch application hosting is part of a rollout, reserve the C9350 app-hosting allocation of 8 GB DRAM and 4 vCPUs separately from forwarding requirements. An SSD is an optional order selection rather than an included storage upgrade. Confirm the application footprint and requested storage configuration before releasing the purchase order.

Not Suitable If

Endpoint power over Ethernet

C9350-48TX cannot power endpoints. C9350-48HX retains 48 multigigabit downlinks and adds 90W UPOE+ capability; the available shared power budget depends on the installed power supplies.

Fiber-native access connections

C9350-48TX has copper access ports rather than fixed fiber downlinks. C9350-24Y offers 24 fixed 1G/10G/25G fiber ports, reducing access-port density while changing the interface medium.

Half-duplex legacy Ethernet endpoints

C9350-48TX supports 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps downlinks only in full-duplex mode. Endpoints requiring half-duplex operation cannot connect using their required duplex setting.

Questions & Answers

What does the C9350-48TX part number mean?

C9350-48TX identifies a Cisco C9350 smart switch with 48 data-only 10G multigigabit access ports. C9350 is the series segment, 48 is the port-count segment, and TX identifies the combined data-only multigigabit configuration. The part number includes no uplink-module or software-tier suffix; those selections are separate from the hardware PID.

How is the C9350 series managed?

The C9350 series supports Catalyst Center, the Meraki dashboard, local console and SSH CLI, and NETCONF/RESTCONF automation using YANG models. Cloud-source configuration provides read-only Cloud CLI; device-source configuration permits read/write Cloud CLI. Select configuration ownership before onboarding because these operating modes provide different paths for configuration and troubleshooting.

Is C9350-48TX end of sale?

Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for C9350. C9350-48TX remains an enterprise access model within that series. The purchase configuration should still identify the required uplink module, licensing, and power accessories; lifecycle status does not establish which optional components are included with an individual hardware order.

What conditions and warranties does ORM Systems offer for C9350-48TX?

ORM Systems offers C9350-48TX new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for either condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the original owner, limited to five years after discontinuance.

Which licenses does C9350-48TX require?

C9350-48TX uses separately selected Cisco Switching Essentials, LIC-CS-AC1-L-E, or Cisco Switching Advantage, LIC-CS-AC1-L-A, through Cisco Networking Subscription or Enterprise Agreement. A new subscription requires at least 36 months. The hardware PID does not fix a perpetual license tier, so specify the required entitlement separately from the selected hardware condition.

What happens when a C9350 switching subscription expires?

C9350 switching devices retain on-device operating-system functionality after subscription expiration, but Meraki dashboard and Catalyst Center access becomes limited, management and monitoring are restricted, and subscription support ends. Continued device operation does not preserve management-platform entitlements. Renewal planning must distinguish local operating functionality from controller access and subscription-based support.

Which uplink modules work with C9350-48TX?

C9350-48TX supports C9350-NM-4C, C9350-NM-2C, C9350-NM-8Y, and C9350-NM-8M. C9350-NM-4C supplies four 100G/40G ports, while C9350-NM-2C supplies two. C9350-NM-8Y supports eight 25G ports or four 50G ports; C9350-NM-8M adds copper multigigabit connections. Select the module separately because the base chassis includes no uplink module.

How many C9350 switches can be stacked?

The C9350 series supports eight members in a StackWise-1.6T data stack with 1.6 Tbps stacking bandwidth. Members must use the same license level. Select STACK-T1A-50CM=, STACK-T1A-1M=, or STACK-T1A-3M= for data stacking; earlier-generation stacking cables are incompatible. StackPower+ forms a separate power-sharing domain rather than increasing the data-stack member limit.

Does C9350-48TX include redundant power supplies?

C9350-48TX ships with one PWR-C2-500WAC-I rather than a redundant pair. Two additional internal power bays permit optional supplies; PWR-C2-500WAC-I/2 is a redundant-supply ordering option. Specify the required secondary supply and its regional power cord separately rather than treating an available but empty bay as included redundancy.

What is the switching and forwarding performance of C9350-48TX?

C9350-48TX provides 1760 Gbps standalone switching capacity and 1309.44 Mpps standalone forwarding. With stacking, the corresponding figures are 3360 Gbps and 2499.84 Mpps. These figures are separate from the 1.6 Tbps StackWise-1.6T interconnect rating; distinguish chassis packet-processing requirements from the bandwidth used for communication between stack members.

Is the C9350 series rack-mountable?

The C9350 series uses a 1U, 19-inch rack chassis, and C9350-48TX measures 44 mm high, 445 mm wide and 510 mm deep with its default supply installed. Standard 19-inch mounting brackets are included. Confirm cabinet depth and rear access before specifying the mounting location and associated rack arrangement.

What is the difference between C9350-48TX and C9350-48HX?

C9350-48TX provides data-only multigigabit downlinks, while C9350-48HX adds 90W UPOE+ capability across its 48 access ports. The powered model's shared PoE budget depends on the installed supplies. C9350-48TX suits separately powered endpoints; C9350-48HX suits purchases requiring Ethernet-delivered endpoint power, with supply selection sized to the connected load.

What is the difference between C9350-48TX and C9350-48P?

C9350-48TX includes PWR-C2-500WAC-I, while C9350-48P includes PWR-C2-850WAC-I, so their default power-supply configurations differ before optional redundancy is selected. Their endpoint roles also differ: C9350-48TX provides data-only multigigabit access, whereas C9350-48P provides 1G PoE+ access. Select the former for externally powered multigigabit endpoints and the latter for powered Gigabit connections.

What is the difference between C9350-48TX and C9350-24T?

C9350-48TX provides 48 access ports, compared with 24 on C9350-24T. Both use modular uplinks, but C9350-48TX supplies multigigabit downlinks while C9350-24T uses 1G downlinks. Choose the 48-port model for higher connection density and multigigabit access, or the 24-port model for a smaller set of Gigabit endpoint connections.

What power consumption should I allow for C9350-48TX?

263.2W is the C9350-48TX full-port traffic measurement at 115V AC without an uplink module, in an 850W test configuration. PWR-C2-500WAC-I is the default supply, so that measurement is not an as-shipped maximum-power rating. Size circuit and thermal provisions for the actual ordered configuration rather than substituting the supply's output rating.
