IE-3300-8P2S-A combines fanless industrial construction with Layer 3 switching, eight Gigabit RJ-45 PoE+ downlinks and two fixed Gigabit SFP uplinks. The DIN rail chassis belongs to the Cisco Catalyst IE3300 Rugged Series and ships with Network Advantage for routed industrial access. Powered copper connections serve cameras, phones, wireless access points and sensors, while dedicated fiber uplinks connect the cabinet to the wider network. The non-PoE IE-3300-8T2S-A accommodates installations whose endpoints receive power independently. This industrial Ethernet switch supports downlink expansion without changing its built-in uplink architecture. Manufacturing, energy and transportation installations are its deployment contexts, rather than conventional office wiring closets; the purchase configuration should reflect the cabinet’s endpoint connections and environmental requirements.
IE-3300-8P2S-A price for new stock is $7,187.25, a 39.2% saving from the Cisco list price of $11,816.00. IE-3300-8P2S-A refurb price is $2,910.60. IE-3300-8P2S-A is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Line-rate forwarding across all ports and packet sizes supports the configured interfaces without a separately stated numerical forwarding-rate limit. 240W of base PoE budget is allocated across powered endpoints, subject to the external source’s available output. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and IS-IS provide dynamic routing under Network Advantage; PBR, VRRP, HSRP, PIM-SM and PIM-DM cover policy routing, gateway redundancy and multicast requirements. IE-3300-8P2S-A uses 4 GB DRAM and 1.5 GB user-accessible flash for its operating environment and stored files. The switching resources include 16000 MAC entries, 256 VLANs and eight queues for traffic classification and scheduling. 32W switch consumption, measured at 54V DC, excludes PoE output and therefore cannot represent the complete powered installation’s demand. NETCONF and RESTCONF support API-based configuration, while SSH, SNMPv3 and WebUI provide administrative access. MACsec-256 is included with the network tier. The fixed uplinks do not support 10G operation through a transceiver substitution.
IE-3300-8P2S-A is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties of up to 3-year extended coverage for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed port links, clean boot, PoE output under load on every powered port and optics bay recognition; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. Specify condition, accessories and quantity on the PO; every condition includes 30-day returns, with terms applying. For enterprise and volume orders, ORM accepts POs, offers Net-30 for government and provides RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA regions.

When replacing discontinued IE-3000-4TC-E or IE-3000-8TC-E installations, keep uplink media, endpoint wiring and configuration migration on the purchasing checklist. Both older models ended sales on June 30, 2020, and Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Specify the replacement hardware and migration accessories before issuing the PO.
When an industrial cabinet needs additional powered connections, IEM-3300-16P= adds 16 Gigabit PoE+ downlinks and increases the complete system to 24 powered ports. The expanded system shares 360W rather than assigning an independent budget to each connection. Size the combined endpoint load and external power source before ordering the expansion.
When staging an industrial replacement before shipment, plan local console access independently of the production network. The USB mini-Type B console takes priority when both console connections are attached, which can change the technician’s active session. Specify the console connection method and staging procedure before releasing the hardware order.
10G uplinks from the base chassis
IE-3300-8P2S-A has Gigabit uplinks, not 10G. IE-3300-8U2X-A provides two 10G SFP+ uplinks and eight copper downlinks, with a different endpoint-power class.
Direct AC power at the chassis
IE-3300-8P2S-A has DC terminals, not an AC inlet. PWR-IE480W-PCAC-L= provides external AC-to-DC conversion but is not certified for hazardous locations.

IE-3300-8P2S-A identifies a Catalyst IE3300 industrial Ethernet switch: IE-3300 names the family, 8 indicates eight Gigabit copper ports, P indicates PoE/PoE+, 2 indicates two uplinks, S identifies SFP interfaces, and A selects Network Advantage. The modular construction supports downlink expansion rather than replacement of the built-in uplinks.
IE-3300-8P2S-A supports WebUI, CLI through console, SSH or Telnet, SNMP, Cisco Catalyst Center, NETCONF and RESTCONF. Industrial management also includes CIP-based tools and Siemens STEP 7 or TIA Portal. Choose the administrative path and any optional centralized-management license separately from the hardware condition on the purchase order.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst IE3300 Rugged. End-of-life announcements for individual IOS XE releases or optional storage accessories are separate from an end-of-sale announcement for switch hardware. A purchasing decision should distinguish hardware lifecycle status from the software release selected for deployment.
IE-3300-8P2S-A is available new sealed or certified refurbished; Cisco’s hardware warranty is five-year limited coverage. ORM provides up to 3-year extended coverage on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units. Every condition includes 30-day returns, with terms applying; refurbished managed units are firmware verified and wiped to factory default.
IE-3300-8P2S-A includes perpetual Network Advantage and does not require a Cisco Catalyst Center subscription, including on an ORM order. Optional Cisco Catalyst Center Essentials and Advantage licenses have three-, five- or seven-year terms; three years is the minimum. The Advantage add-on requires Network Advantage and does not replace the network license.
IE-3300-8P2S-A replaces IE-3000-4TC-E and IE-3000-8TC-E. Both older switches ended sales on June 30, 2020, and their Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Treat the change as a hardware and configuration migration rather than assuming existing expansion modules or every stored setting can be moved unchanged.
IE-3300-8P2S-A provides a 240W base PoE/PoE+ budget; supported powered expansion increases the shared system budget to 360W. Available endpoint power also depends on the external source after switch and expansion consumption. Size connected loads as a combined allocation rather than treating the expanded budget as independently available on each port.
Catalyst IE3300 Rugged supports GLC-SX-MM-RGD= for Gigabit multimode fiber and GLC-LX-SM-RGD= for Gigabit single-mode fiber. Both are industrial-temperature options for its built-in SFP uplinks. Match the transceiver to the fiber medium and link distance; commercial or extended-temperature optics require a reduced operating-temperature limit.
IE-3300-8P2S-A accepts 9.6-60V DC through two external power feeds; PoE requires 48V DC and PoE+ requires 54V DC. The switch uses the higher-voltage source when both feeds are present and continues on the remaining feed after one source fails. The 32W switch consumption excludes endpoint PoE output.
Catalyst IE3300 Rugged uses a DIN rail latch and must be installed vertically. The chassis is not a full-width rack-mount unit. A cabinet purchase therefore needs to account for the DIN rail, access to front-panel connections and appropriate enclosure conditions, rather than assuming a conventional rack installation.
IE-3300-8P2S-A powers endpoints through eight Gigabit PoE/PoE+ copper ports, while IE-3300-8T2S-A has eight non-PoE copper ports. Both retain two Gigabit SFP uplinks and Network Advantage. Select the powered model for endpoints receiving switch-supplied power; select the non-PoE model when endpoint power comes from another source.
IE-3300-8P2S-A includes Network Advantage, whereas IE-3300-8P2S-E includes Network Essentials. Network Advantage adds dynamic routing such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and IS-IS; Network Essentials provides static and inter-VLAN routing. The A model suits deployments requiring those dynamic protocols; the E model suits deployments that do not require the added routing tier.
IE-3300-8U2X-A has two 10G SFP+ uplinks where IE-3300-8P2S-A has two Gigabit SFP uplinks. The 10G model also changes endpoint power to four-pair PoE, so the difference is not an optics substitution. Choose IE-3300-8P2S-A for Gigabit aggregation or IE-3300-8U2X-A when the uplink requirement is 10G.
IE-3300-8P2S-A supports dynamic Layer 3 routing with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and IS-IS under Network Advantage. RIP, static routing, PBR, VRRP, HSRP and multicast routing are also included. Match the required unicast protocols, gateway redundancy and multicast behavior to the planned configuration before specifying the network tier.
