PIM-SM and PIM-DM provide multicast routing options. A 16000-entry MAC address table supports endpoint lookup, and 256 VLANs provide traffic segmentation. IE-3300-8T2S-A includes 4 GB of DRAM and 1.5 GB of user-accessible flash for operating software and local storage. MACsec-256 supports encrypted Ethernet links under the included tier. WebUI, CLI access and industrial management integrations provide configuration paths for the IE3300. Dual DC connections accept independent external feeds, with the higher-voltage source supplying power when both are active. The 23W base consumption is measured at 12V DC and must be considered separately from any expansion hardware. PoE expansion modules cannot be attached to this non-PoE base.

Existing IE-3000-4TC-E or IE-3000-8TC-E installations need a replacement assessment because both discontinued models ended Cisco support on June 30, 2025. IE-3300-8T2S-A is a named migration option. Review existing copper cabling, fiber connections and configuration requirements before specifying the replacement hardware and associated accessories on the PO.
A control cabinet needing additional data connections can pair IE-3300-8T2S-A with IEM-3300-16T=, which adds sixteen Gigabit copper ports and brings the system to twenty-six interfaces. A new industrial cabinet installation must reserve 50.8 mm of clearance above, below, beside and in front of the switch. IE-3300-8T2S-A identifies a Catalyst IE3300 switch: IE-3300 names the family, 8T represents eight Gigabit copper ports, 2S represents two Gigabit SFP ports, and A selects Network Advantage. The configuration is modular for access expansion, but its two fiber uplinks are fixed in the base chassis.
