Technical Details
18700 Gbps maximum switching capacity describes the fully configured chassis architecture, not an unequipped enclosure. N7K-C7018 operates with Cisco NX-OS when the required hardware is installed. Advanced routing requires Enterprise Services Package N7K-LAN1K9, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and IS-IS; those entitlements are not established by the chassis part number. The Cisco Nexus 7000 18-Slot Switch uses a passive midplane, with switching performed by the installed I/O and fabric hardware.
