800 Gbps switching capacity provides the forwarding fabric for aggregation traffic, and 250 Mpps maximum forwarding supports hardware-switched IPv4 packets. OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 each support one instance with a maximum of 1000 dynamically learned routes under the included license; EIGRP Stub, static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2 and PBR provide additional routing options. BGP and full EIGRP require Enterprise Services rather than the included feature tier. The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X Series uses 4 GB of onboard memory for system operation and a 32 MB shared packet buffer for queued traffic. WS-C4500X-24X-IPB supports CLI administration through the console and SSH Version 2, with SNMPv2c, SNMPv3 and XML-PI available for monitoring or programmatic interaction. WS-C4500X-24X-IPB identifies a Catalyst 4500-X configuration: WS-C4500X is the family prefix, 24X denotes 24 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, and IPB identifies IP Base. The configuration uses front-to-back cooling and ships without power supplies. Those purchase characteristics are important even though they are not separate printed suffixes.
WS-C4500X-24X-IPB supports Cisco IOS XE CLI administration through the console or SSH Version 2, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 monitoring, and XML-PI interaction.
