240 Gbps backplane capacity provides 48 Gbps full duplex per interface slot; actual forwarding performance depends on the installed supervisor. WS-C4506-E has a 120W chassis-only maximum for facility planning, excluding the assembled configuration's additional electrical loads. Four fans operate within WS-X4596-E, drawing air from right to left; supply airflow runs front to back. Individual fan failure requires replacing WS-X4596-E. Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series configurations support CLI administration and Cisco Prime Infrastructure management through their supervisor engine.
