60W of chassis-only maximum rated power provides an enclosure allowance for facility planning, not the maximum draw of a populated switch. Installed components and power conversion must be accounted for separately. 48 Gbps per line-card slot is supported with compatible supervisor configurations; that slot bandwidth is not a standalone chassis switching-capacity figure. WS-C4503-E provides two internal power supply bays, allowing separately specified power redundancy despite the absence of supervisor redundancy. Cooling uses one fan tray with independently operating fans, and fan failures can be reported through LEDs, CLI and SNMP.
