Ten fans in WS-X4582-E drive right-to-left chassis airflow, making side clearance part of installation planning rather than assuming front-to-back ventilation. The Catalyst 4510R-E occupies 14 rack units; allow 160 mm between walls and chassis air vents and 305 mm between adjacent chassis. WS-C4510R-E operates from 0°C to 40°C, setting the ambient-temperature limit for the equipment space. Management resides on the installed supervisor, with console CLI access, network CLI access over Telnet and Cisco Prime Infrastructure integration; supported software also provides the Device Manager web UI.
