240 Gbps backplane capacity provides the chassis interconnect, with 24 Gbps full-duplex bandwidth per switching-module slot; actual forwarding performance remains dependent on the installed supervisor configuration. WS-C4507R-E uses right-to-left chassis airflow, so cabinet placement must leave the side ventilation paths unobstructed. The WS-X4597-E assembly contains eight fans, and a failed individual fan requires replacement of the complete WS-X4597-E assembly. A populated Cisco Catalyst 4500E system supports CLI administration and Cisco Prime Infrastructure management; compatible software also provides a Device Manager web interface. No fixed access ports, installed uplinks, or chassis-only routing image accompany this hardware PID.
