HF6100-60L4D is a cloud-managed Layer 3 data center leaf switch with 60 fixed 10/25/50G SFP56 ports and four fixed 40/100/200/400G QSFP-DD interfaces. The fiber connections serve server-facing access and fabric interconnections without a removable uplink card. Its full-width 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 6000 Series Switches and operates as an appliance within Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric. Leaf, mesh, border, and standalone roles are supported; HF6100-32D also supports the spine role, which this model does not. The 60-port configuration addresses racks using SFP56 server connections rather than a uniform bank of higher-speed fabric ports. Both host connections and upstream network handoffs form part of the fabric design, so interface assignments should be established before selecting the connection hardware.

12800 Gbps maximum switching capacity supports aggregate fabric traffic, with line-rate operation specified for packet sizes of 187 bytes and above. 8000 Mpps forwarding performance sets the packet-processing ceiling for traffic planning. Static routing, BGPv4, and BGPv6 provide routed handoffs, while EVPN/VXLAN supports the fabric network architecture. HF6100-60L4D includes 32 GB of DRAM and 32 GB of flash for its embedded operating system and local operation. The Cisco Silicon One Q200 forwarding ASIC supports hardware resources whose usable allocation depends on entitlement, enabled features, and the selected template. Support for 4094 VLAN IDs and 9216-byte jumbo frames requires corresponding segmentation and MTU planning across connected equipment. MACsec encryption is not supported. Browser-based control and the RESTful API provide centralized configuration and monitoring. 525W typical system consumption excludes pluggable power, so electrical and cooling plans must add the selected optical load rather than treating that figure as maximum draw.
ORM Systems supplies HF6100-60L4D new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with every port linking at rated speed, optics bay recognition checked, firmware verified, and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM warranty coverage is up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Specify the condition, quantity, power configuration, and connection hardware on the purchase order. Enterprise and volume orders can use accepted POs, government Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When a rack build requires independent power feeds, the second power supply and its source must be included in the purchase plan. C9K-PWR-1500WAC and C9K-PWR-1500WDC can operate in supported mixed AC/DC configurations. Specify the supply combination, separate sources, and required power connections before issuing the PO.
Before staging a cloud-managed fabric behind enterprise security controls, validate the outbound TLS connection over TCP/443. Configuration and telemetry depend on that connection even though forwarding continues during a cloud interruption. Include firewall approval, connectivity testing, and controller access in the acceptance checklist before ordering the rollout quantity.
When extending operations across multiple data centers, establish the Hyperfabric organization and its hosting geography before adding equipment. Organizations can use cloud controller hosting in the United States or European Union. Assign the destination organization and regional management requirements before finalizing the site-specific bill of materials.
Spine service in leaf-spine fabrics
HF6100-60L4D supports leaf, mesh, border, and standalone operation but not the spine role. HF6100-32D supports spine operation with 32 native 400G QSFP-DD ports.
Native 800G network connections
HF6100-60L4D interfaces stop at 400G. HF6100-64ED provides 64 native 800G OSFP interfaces and uses a 2U chassis rather than the 1U enclosure.
Customer-installed NX-OS or ACI
HF6100-60L4D runs a preinstalled embedded operating system with a locked bootloader. Customers cannot replace that software with NX-OS, ACI, or their own image.

HF6100-60L4D identifies a Cisco 6000 Hyperfabric switch with 60 SFP56 connections reaching 50G and four QSFP-DD connections reaching 400G. HF6100 identifies the switch model family, while 60L4D identifies that port configuration. HF6100-60L4D-D is configurable hardware; HF6100-60L4D-S is a fixed AC-powered configuration.
HF6100-60L4D is managed through the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller using a browser interface or RESTful API. An onsite mobile web portal assists installation and cabling verification. Ansible and Terraform integrations provide additional automation paths through the API rather than a separate switch operating system.
HF6100-60L4D requires a Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Essentials or Premier subscription, initially purchased for at least 36 months. Hardware-linked bundles and independently purchased subscriptions are supported. Renewals can run from 12 to 84 months, and every switch within one fabric must use the same subscription tier.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Cisco 6000 Series Switches. HF6100-60L4D remains an available member of that family. These switches are distinct from the older Cisco Nexus 6000 Series, whose discontinued hardware is not compatible with Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric.
ORM Systems offers HF6100-60L4D new sealed or certified refurbished with separate ORM warranty coverage. New units have up to a 3-year extended warranty; certified refurbished units have up to 1 year. Both include 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's standard hardware warranty is 1 year.
HF6100-60L4D accepts C9K-PWR-1500WAC and C9K-PWR-1500WDC, with one selected supply installed and a second available for redundancy. Two AC supplies, two DC supplies, or a mixed AC/DC pair are supported. An unused power slot must retain PWR-C6-BLANK to maintain the intended airflow.
Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric continues forwarding with the last-known configuration when cloud connectivity is lost. Local fabric protocols, bridging, and external routing remain on the switches. Configuration updates and cloud telemetry stop during the interruption; the local agent buffers telemetry and resynchronizes after connectivity returns.
Yes, HF6100-60L4D supports Static routing, BGPv4, and BGPv6 with IPv4 and IPv6 unicast routing. Routed subinterfaces and VRF address families support separated network handoffs. Essentials and Premier both include static and BGP routing, so those functions do not require a higher perpetual network license.
The Cisco 6000 60-port configuration provides 60 SFP56 interfaces for 10G, 25G, or 50G connections and four QSFP-DD interfaces reaching 400G. The QSFP-DD interfaces also support breakout, including 16 aggregate 100G connections across those four interfaces. Connection hardware must match the selected interface mode.
HF6100-32D supports the spine role, while HF6100-60L4D does not. Both can serve leaf, mesh, border, and standalone roles within Hyperfabric. HF6100-60L4D addresses SFP56-facing server access; HF6100-32D suits buyers who need a supported spine or a switch centered on native QSFP-DD connections.
HF6100-64ED reaches 800G per native OSFP interface, whereas HF6100-60L4D reaches 400G on its QSFP-DD interfaces. The 800G model uses a 2U chassis. HF6100-60L4D suits 50G server-facing connections with 400G fabric links; HF6100-64ED addresses purchases requiring native 800G connections and the corresponding rack space.
HF6100-60L4D-S is the fixed hardware ordering form with AC power and port-exhaust airflow, while HF6100-60L4D identifies the underlying switch model. Buyers selecting power and airflow through configuration use HF6100-60L4D-D; buyers standardizing on the fixed AC-powered arrangement use HF6100-60L4D-S. Both retain the same native port configuration.
