HF6100-32D-D provides 32 fixed 400G QSFP-DD ports in a cloud-managed Layer 3 data center switch. The 1U chassis uses fiber interfaces for fabric connections, host attachments, and northbound connectivity rather than a separate removable uplink card. Its data ports do not provide PoE. The Cisco HF6100-32D hardware belongs to Cisco 6000 Series Switches and operates within Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric, with preinstalled software rather than a customer-selected NX-OS image. HF6100-32D-S fixes AC power and port-exhaust airflow, while this configurable hardware order allows the power and airflow configuration to be selected.

12800 Gbps switching capacity delivers line-rate operation for packets of 187 bytes and larger. 8000 Mpps forwarding capacity provides the packet-processing figure to consider alongside bandwidth when sizing traffic. Static routing and BGP support upstream IPv4 and IPv6 peering, while EVPN/VXLAN provides the fabric networking framework. HF6100-32D-D contains 16 GB of DRAM and 32 GB of flash for its embedded operating environment. A dedicated Ethernet management port provides out-of-band connectivity, and the USB 2.0 host port supports local removable storage. MACsec encryption is not supported. Local forwarding and external peering continue during a cloud disconnection, but configuration changes and cloud telemetry require restored controller connectivity.
ORM Systems supplies HF6100-32D-D new sealed or certified refurbished. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for optics bay recognition, with firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. Specify the condition and complete configured bill of materials on the purchase order; Cisco's hardware warranty is one-year limited, while ORM offers up to a three-year extended warranty for new units or up to one year for certified refurbished units, plus 30-day returns on both conditions, terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders are PO accepted, with Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA in the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When a purchase spans multiple data center sites, prepare the cloud-connection policy before committing hardware quantities. Nexus Hyperfabric switches initiate an outbound TLS session over TCP/443, and the controller manages separate fabrics centrally. Specify the organization tenancy and confirm the permitted egress path before the purchase order.
When incoming hardware requires staging before installation, prepare a console connection at 115200 baud, eight data bits, one stop bit, and no parity. The management connection supports image downloading and network management. Specify the terminal settings and management-network access in the staging checklist before accepting the hardware shipment.
Customer-installed NX-OS or ACI software
HF6100-32D-D uses a locked, preinstalled Hyperfabric image. Cisco 6000 switches do not run NX-OS or ACI and do not permit customer-installed software.
Locally operated air-gapped fabric management
HF6100-32D-D relies on a Cisco-operated cloud controller for configuration and monitoring. Nexus Hyperfabric does not offer a customer-operated controller for an air-gapped installation.

HF6100-32D-D identifies a Cisco 6000 Hyperfabric switch with 32 fixed 400G QSFP-DD ports, ordered as configurable hardware only. HF6100 identifies the hardware family, 32D identifies that port configuration, and the final D selects the configurable drop-ship ordering form rather than a bundled subscription tier.
HF6100-32D-D is managed through the Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller's browser interface and RESTful API, with a mobile web portal for onsite deployment assistance. The dedicated Ethernet management port provides out-of-band connectivity, and a console port supports terminal connection. Establish the organization tenancy before provisioning the hardware.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Cisco 6000 Series Switches. The similarly named Cisco Nexus 6000 family is a different, discontinued product line and cannot be used with Nexus Hyperfabric. Use the full HF6100-32D-D identifier when matching replacement inventory or an existing purchase specification.
HF6100-32D-D requires a Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric Essentials or Premier subscription for cloud-managed use, with a three-year minimum initial term. Essentials covers general-purpose fabrics; Premier covers AI fabrics. Separate hardware, linked hardware-and-subscription, and subscription-only purchasing paths are available, and switches within one fabric must share their entitlement tier.
HF6100-32D-D is available new sealed or certified refurbished. Cisco provides a one-year limited hardware warranty; ORM's new orders offer up to a three-year extended warranty, and certified refurbished orders offer up to one year. Both conditions have 30-day returns, terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested.
HF6100-32D-D allows configurable hardware selection, while HF6100-32D-S fixes port-exhaust airflow and AC power. Both are hardware-only orders with the same network-port configuration. HF6100-32D-D suits an order requiring power or airflow selection; HF6100-32D-S suits a specification already standardized on the fixed AC, port-exhaust combination.
HF6100-32D-D is hardware only, while HF6100-32D-SVC-D is the linked hardware-and-subscription bundle. Separate hardware purchasing suits an organization arranging its entitlement independently; the linked bundle suits a purchase order combining both elements. Cloud-managed deployment still requires the corresponding Nexus Hyperfabric subscription for either ordering approach.
HF6100-64ED-D has 64 physical data ports, while HF6100-32D-D has 32. HF6100-32D-D suits a design built around the lower chassis port count; HF6100-64ED-D suits a design requiring more physical interfaces. Match the required fabric connection count to the hardware order before selecting either configuration.
Yes, Cisco 6000 Series Switches continue forwarding when their connection to the Nexus Hyperfabric Cloud Controller is lost. Local fabric protocols and external BGP peering remain active. Configuration updates and cloud telemetry stop until connectivity returns, after which buffered telemetry and configuration state are resynchronized.
Cisco HF6100-32D supports 128 100G interfaces through 400G-to-100G breakout across its 32 QSFP-DD ports. Breakout changes how the fixed physical ports present connections rather than adding a removable uplink card. Specify compatible optics, cabling, and host-port assignments in the fabric design before finalizing the hardware purchase.
