SF100-24-EU is an unmanaged Layer 2 desktop switch with 24 copper 10/100 Mbps ports for small-business computers, printers, copiers, and other separately powered office equipment. The chassis supplies no PoE and has no dedicated uplink ports or fiber slots, so an upstream connection uses an existing RJ-45 port. Within the Cisco 100 Series, this configuration addresses basic wired connectivity rather than faster aggregation or direct fiber attachment. The retired SF100-16-EU has 16 Fast Ethernet ports where a smaller connection count is sufficient. Count the upstream connection alongside the endpoint connections when checking whether this physical layout matches an existing installation.

4.8 Gbps switching capacity describes aggregate switching capability rather than the speed of an individual cable connection. 3.6 Mpps forwarding performance uses 64-byte packets as its measurement basis, providing a packet-rate reference alongside the bandwidth figure. Store-and-forward operation rejects damaged packets instead of passing them through the network. Four hardware queues support traffic prioritization through priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling, while head-of-line blocking prevention addresses contention within the switching process. IEEE 802.3x flow control regulates transmission when a receiving device cannot accept more traffic. SF100-24-EU negotiates port speed and duplex automatically and detects straight-through or crossover cabling through automatic MDI/MDI-X. An internal universal supply accepts 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz, avoiding a separate external power adapter. The Cisco Small Business model operates from 0°C to 40°C, setting the ambient-temperature limits for installation.
ORM Systems offers SF100-24-EU new sealed or certified refurbished; new units carry up to 3-year extended warranty coverage, refurbished units up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns, with terms applying. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed link operation on every port, and internal PSU status. Specify the condition, required power cord, mounting hardware, and quantity on the purchase order; Cisco's original Limited Lifetime coverage has ended with Cisco support. For enterprise and volume orders, POs are accepted, government buyers receive Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement is available across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

A failed unit in an otherwise unchanged office network calls for an exact-part spare rather than a feature upgrade. Match SF100-24-EU on the purchase order, record the required condition, and confirm the power cord and mounting hardware before releasing the order for the replacement.
An office adding computers, printers, or copiers needs a connection plan before ordering another switch. Category 5 or better copper cabling is required. Count the planned cable runs, identify endpoints needing their own power connections, and specify patch cables and the required unit quantity on the purchase order.
Connectivity above 100 Mbps
SF100-24-EU connections stop at 100 Mbps. CBS110-24T-EU provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two shared SFP connections for buyers requiring higher copper link speeds.
Power delivery to connected endpoints
SF100-24-EU does not provide PoE. Phones, access points, and other powered endpoints need their own power source or a separate PoE-capable switch.
Direct fiber connections
SF100-24-EU has copper RJ-45 connections only and cannot accept fiber transceivers. CBS110-24T-EU adds two shared 1G SFP connections for a copper-to-fiber migration.

SF100-24-EU identifies a Cisco Small Business 100 Series unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch; 24 indicates its port count. SF100 is the model-family identifier, and the EU suffix distinguishes this ordering variant from the separately listed NA and UK versions. Specify the complete identifier rather than omitting the suffix.
The Small Business 100 Series operates without configuration: connect power and Ethernet devices, and switching starts automatically. Port speed and half- or full-duplex operation negotiate independently. Automatic cable detection also handles straight-through and crossover connections, so setup does not involve an administrator-defined switch configuration.
SF100-24-EU is retired and Cisco support has ended. Its original replacement, SF110-24-EU, is also discontinued, with an end-of-sale date of January 29, 2023. The forward replacement is CBS110-24T-EU, an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet model with two shared SFP connections.
ORM Systems offers SF100-24-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to 3-year extended coverage for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns are available for 30 days in either condition; terms apply. Cisco's original Limited Lifetime warranty no longer provides coverage because Cisco support has ended.
SF100D-16P supplies PoE on eight ports with a 64W shared budget, while SF100-24-EU supplies no endpoint power. The discontinued SF100D-16P has 16 Fast Ethernet ports rather than 24. The older PoE model addresses powered endpoints; SF100-24-EU serves a larger set of separately powered devices.
SF100-24-EU has 24 Fast Ethernet ports, compared with 16 on SF100-16-EU. Both are retired unmanaged models with internal AC power. The smaller model fits a lower connection count, while SF100-24-EU supports a larger group of copper-connected devices without changing the basic operating model.
CBS110-24T-EU provides Gigabit Ethernet connections, while SF100-24-EU is limited to 10/100 Ethernet. CBS110-24T-EU is the forward replacement after the discontinued SF110-24-EU. Buyers retaining Fast Ethernet equipment can consider an exact-part replacement; buyers moving to Gigabit Ethernet should specify CBS110-24T-EU.
SF100-24-EU uses an internal universal AC power supply accepting 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz. Power reaches the unit through its AC cord rather than an external adapter. Confirm the supplied cord matches the installation outlet, especially when the order will be deployed outside its original sales region.
SF100-24-EU has no dedicated uplink ports or fiber slots; connections use the existing 10/100 RJ-45 ports. A copper connection to the upstream network therefore has the same speed limit as an endpoint connection. Confirm that limit before selecting this model for an existing network.
SF100-24-EU supports 4.8 Gbps of switching capacity and 3.6 Mpps of forwarding with 64-byte packets. These are switching and packet-rate figures, not a higher speed for any individual connection. Individual copper links remain limited to 10/100 Mbps when sizing the upstream connection.
SF100-24-EU is a compact desktop-format switch measuring 279.4 mm wide, 44.5 mm high, and 170 mm deep. Its weight is 1.32 kg. Mounting hardware accompanies the original package; confirm the required hardware is included when purchasing a replacement unit for an existing installation.
The Small Business 100 Series uses four hardware queues with priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling for automatic traffic handling. SF100-24-EU also supports head-of-line blocking prevention and IEEE 802.3x flow control. Store-and-forward operation prevents damaged packets from being passed through the network.
