SF100-16-UK provides unmanaged Layer 2 connectivity through 16 copper ports supporting 10/100 Mbps connections. The desktop-width chassis belongs to the Cisco Small Business 100 family and connects separately powered computers, printers and other office equipment without PoE output. Upstream connections use the same copper ports as endpoints; there is no dedicated higher-speed uplink or optical expansion bay. Cisco 100 Series Unmanaged Switches operate without configuration, making this model relevant to like-for-like maintenance of existing small-office networks. The discontinued SF100D-16P-UK differs by supplying PoE on eight ports. This model retains a copper-only connection layout rather than providing a path to fiber or Gigabit Ethernet through an optional module.

3.2 Gbps switching capacity provides the aggregate switching fabric for traffic between connected devices. 1.4 Mpps forwarding capacity describes packet handling with 64-byte packets, giving buyers a separate performance measure from aggregate bandwidth. Four hardware queues support 802.1p priority handling, with priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling for traffic classes. Store-and-forward operation identifies damaged packets before passing traffic onward, while head-of-line blocking prevention addresses contention within the switching process. SF100-16-UK automatically negotiates connection speed and duplex, and automatic MDI/MDI-X handles copper cable orientation without requiring a crossover cable selection. An internal universal AC supply accepts 100–240V at 50–60 Hz, so the power connection goes directly to the chassis rather than through a separate DC adapter. The 0°C to 40°C operating range sets the environmental boundary for installation; ambient conditions must remain within that range during operation.
ORM offers SF100-16-UK in new sealed and certified refurbished condition, with refurbished units inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, PSU status, and every port linking at its rated speed. Specify condition and quantity on the purchase order; PO acceptance and RMA with advance replacement are available for enterprise and volume orders. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty and certified refurbished units up to 1 year; every condition has 30-day returns, terms apply, while Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty and service ended December 31, 2020. Government customers can use Net-30.

An office retaining Category 5 copper cabling for computers, printers and copiers can use the existing cable requirement as the starting point for a like-for-like switch order. Before issuing the purchase order, verify cable condition and specify the patch leads needed for the intended connections.
A lab qualifying legacy Ethernet equipment can include jumbo frames of 9216 bytes in its test plan with the Cisco 100 Series. Switch support alone does not establish compatibility across every connected device, so verify the required frame size along the complete traffic path before specifying the test equipment order.
Gigabit Ethernet endpoint connections
SF100-16-UK limits every copper connection to 100 Mbps. An upstream device with a Gigabit Ethernet port does not make this switch's ports operate at Gigabit speed.
PoE power for connected devices
SF100-16-UK supplies Ethernet connectivity without PoE output. IP phones, access points or cameras that depend on power from the switch cannot be powered directly by this model.
Direct fiber uplink connections
SF100-16-UK provides copper RJ-45 connections only and has no SFP cage for fiber optics. A transceiver cannot be installed to convert an existing port into a fiber uplink.

SF100-16-UK identifies the 16-port 10/100 switch in the Cisco Small Business 100 family. SF100 identifies the Fast Ethernet model group, and 16 identifies the port count. Retain the complete SF100-16-UK ordering identifier when matching stock, because another 16-port model can differ in power input or PoE capability.
SF100-16-UK operates without configuration: connect AC power and Ethernet cables, and the ports automatically negotiate their connections. Speed, duplex and cable orientation handling operate automatically. Traffic prioritization also runs without configuration, so deployment does not require an administrator to establish settings before endpoints can exchange Ethernet traffic.
SF100-16-UK is discontinued: end of sale was December 9, 2015, and Cisco support ended December 31, 2020. Its replacement, SF110-16-UK, is also discontinued and reached its last date of support on August 31, 2024. The direct replacement chain has no current successor.
SF100-16-UK is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM warranties of up to 3 years extended for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both conditions include 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty ended with support on December 31, 2020.
No, SF100-16-UK does not provide PoE output on its Ethernet ports. Connected phones, access points and other devices must receive power independently of this switch. The presence of PoE models elsewhere in the Cisco 100 Series does not give this particular model endpoint-powering capability.
SF100-16-UK uses its existing 10/100 RJ-45 ports for upstream connections and has no dedicated Gigabit or fiber uplinks. There is no SFP cage or removable uplink card bay. An upstream connection therefore uses one of the same copper ports available for endpoint connections.
SF100D-16P-UK powers eight ports from a shared 64W PoE budget, whereas SF100-16-UK provides no PoE output. Both are discontinued 16-port Fast Ethernet models. The non-PoE version matches separately powered legacy endpoints; the PoE model addresses older installations whose endpoints require power over the network cable.
SF100-16-UK accepts 100–240V AC through an internal supply, whereas SF100D-16-UK uses a 12V DC input rated at 1A. Both models are discontinued. The first matches an internal-AC spare requirement, while the second matches an existing DC-input arrangement; their power connections are not interchangeable.
SF100-24-UK provides 24 Fast Ethernet ports, compared with 16 on SF100-16-UK. Both models are discontinued. A buyer maintaining the smaller installation needs the 16-port layout, while an existing 24-port installation requires the higher connection count; the two identifiers should not be interchanged on a like-for-like spare order.
SF100-16-UK measures 279.4 mm wide, 44.5 mm high and 170 mm deep, and weighs 1.25 kg. Its desktop-width enclosure is narrower than a full-width rack chassis. Mounting hardware is included; for a rack installation, confirm that the supplied hardware fits the intended mounting arrangement.
Yes, the Cisco 100 Series provides automatic 802.1p-based traffic prioritization using four hardware queues. Priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling handle traffic classes without configuration. On SF100-16-UK, these functions operate automatically rather than requiring an administrator to create a traffic-priority policy before connecting devices.
