SF100D-16P is an unmanaged Layer 2 desktop switch with sixteen 10/100Mbps copper ports, including eight ports that supply PoE. There are no dedicated uplinks or fiber slots; an upstream connection uses an ordinary Ethernet port. The Cisco 100 Series serves small-business networks connecting computers, printers, IP phones, wireless access points and other Ethernet equipment without configuration. The discontinued SF100D-16 is the non-PoE sibling for installations where endpoints receive power separately. Cisco Small Business positioning distinguishes this compact unit from managed access switches with configurable network policies. Its fixed port configuration must match the existing cabling and endpoint requirements.

3.2 Gbps switching capacity provides the aggregate switching fabric for attached devices. 1.4 Mpps forwarding capacity, measured with 64-byte packets, provides a separate packet-rate limit for traffic planning. 64W of shared PoE power requires endpoint demand to remain within the combined allocation rather than treating every powered port as an independent full-power source. SF100D-16P accepts 100–240V AC through an internal universal supply. Port speed and duplex negotiate automatically, while automatic MDI/MDI-X handles cable orientation. Store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being forwarded, and head-of-line blocking prevention addresses queue contention. Jumbo-frame support reaches 9216 bytes. Operation remains automatic rather than configuration-controlled.
Order SF100D-16P in new sealed or certified refurbished condition; ORM's new-unit warranty is up to a 3-year extended term, certified refurbished coverage is up to 1 year, and every condition includes 30-day returns with terms applying. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, clean boot, and PoE output under load on every powered port. Specify the required condition, quantity, regional power cord and delivery destination on the purchase order. For enterprise and volume orders, PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA across UK, EU, US and MEA are available.

When replacing an existing unit serving powered endpoints, the patching plan must preserve the powered-port assignments. Ports 1–4 and 9–12 provide PoE, so a data connection alone does not establish that an endpoint will receive power. Identify each powered cable and specify the port assignment before the purchase order.
When adding connections in a small office, the cable schedule is part of the hardware purchase rather than a later configuration task. Category 5 or better cabling is required for the copper connections. Count the required cable runs, identify available power outlets and specify the mounting location before ordering.
When staging replacement hardware for an existing voice or video installation, acceptance should include traffic handling rather than link checks alone. Four hardware queues use priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling with 802.1p priority. Define the endpoint traffic and packet-priority checks to include in the acceptance plan before the purchase order.
Gigabit copper connectivity
SF100D-16P stops at 100Mbps on its Ethernet ports. CBS110-16PP retains sixteen ports while moving to Gigabit Ethernet for buyers purchasing a replacement rather than a legacy spare.
Power on all sixteen ports
SF100D-16P has only eight powered ports; the remaining Ethernet ports carry data without PoE. A requirement to power every connected endpoint exceeds that hardware configuration.
Configuration-controlled switching policies
SF100D-16P operates automatically without configuration. Requirements for adjustable switching policies need managed hardware rather than this unmanaged unit, regardless of the number of available Ethernet connections.

SF100D-16P identifies a 100 Series Fast Ethernet desktop switch with sixteen ports and PoE. SF100 identifies the series and Ethernet class, D identifies the desktop format, 16 identifies the port count, and P identifies PoE. Eight of the sixteen Ethernet ports provide power to connected endpoints.
Cisco 100 Series unmanaged switches operate without configuration. Connecting power and compatible Ethernet devices starts normal operation, while each port automatically negotiates link speed and duplex. For an existing installation, verify endpoint connectivity and cable condition during acceptance rather than preparing a configuration deployment.
SF100D-16P is retired, and Cisco service has ended for the 100 Series Unmanaged Switches. Purchases of existing units therefore need a replacement and support plan independent of Cisco service. CBS110-16PP is the migration model for buyers moving from this part number to a replacement.
ORM Systems offers SF100D-16P new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions include 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty, with 1-year power-supply coverage, has ended alongside Cisco service.
SF100D-16P has eight PoE ports sharing a 64W power budget. The powered connections are ports 1–4 and 9–12, while the other Ethernet ports provide data connectivity without PoE. Specify powered-port assignments and combined endpoint demand separately; sixteen Ethernet connections do not mean sixteen powered connections.
SF100D-16P has no dedicated uplink ports or fiber slots. Its sixteen copper Ethernet connections operate at 10/100Mbps, so an upstream connection uses an ordinary port within that speed limit. Reserve that connection in the cable schedule instead of ordering an uplink module or an optical transceiver.
The SF100D-16P 16-port Fast Ethernet PoE desktop switch is not a full-width rack chassis; its width is 160 mm. Desktop models support wall mounting. For a rack-based installation, specify a suitable mounting arrangement and confirm available space rather than treating the unit as a standard full-width chassis.
SF100D-16P supplies PoE through eight ports, whereas SF100D-16 provides Ethernet connectivity without PoE. Both are discontinued members of the 100 Series. SF100D-16P suits legacy replacement requirements involving powered endpoints; SF100D-16 suits existing installations where connected equipment receives power separately and PoE is not required.
SF100D-16P uses an internal universal AC supply, whereas SF100D-08P receives 48V DC power externally. Both models are discontinued. For legacy replacement purchases, SF100D-16P suits an installation expecting direct AC input; SF100D-08P suits an existing external-power arrangement, with the supplied power equipment confirmed on the order.
CBS110-16PP provides Gigabit Ethernet connections where SF100D-16P provides 10/100Mbps connections. CBS110-16PP is the migration model for the retired SF100D-16P. A legacy spare purchase retains the existing Fast Ethernet hardware configuration; a replacement purchase using CBS110-16PP serves buyers who require Gigabit connectivity from the newer model.
