SF100-24 provides unmanaged Layer 2 switching through 24 fixed 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 ports, without PoE or dedicated uplinks. Its desktop enclosure belongs to the Cisco 100 Series Unmanaged Switches family. The discontinued SF100-16 offers fewer connections for smaller legacy installations. Select this model when retaining an existing Fast Ethernet network rather than introducing Gigabit connectivity.

4.8 Gbps switching capacity and 3.6 Mpps forwarding support the switch's Fast Ethernet connections. SF100-24 uses store-and-forward switching to discard damaged packets, with four hardware queues and weighted round-robin scheduling for traffic prioritization. Auto-negotiation selects connection speed and duplex mode, while Auto MDI/MDI-X accommodates straight-through or crossover cables. Front-panel indicators show power, link activity, and established 100 Mbps connections, providing physical checks during installation or troubleshooting.
ORM Systems offers SF100-24 new sealed or certified refurbished; specify condition, quantity, and required power cord and mounting hardware on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, clean boot, and internal PSU status. ORM's warranty is up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders can use accepted POs, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

A branch purchase order retaining existing copper cabling needs a cable qualification step: connections require Category 5 or better. Inventory the installed cable category, connector condition, and required patch-cord quantities before ordering, and record which existing cables will be retained rather than assuming every cable is usable.
A spare intended for a cascaded unmanaged network needs a reconnection plan: moving the inter-switch uplink between ports can delay full operation for five minutes. Include the intended cable layout and a post-swap connectivity check in the replacement procedure before authorizing the spare purchase.
Gigabit connections to every endpoint
SF100-24 connections stop at 100 Mbps. Connecting a Gigabit-capable endpoint does not increase that limit; exclude this model when the purchase requires Gigabit endpoint links.
Endpoint power through Ethernet cables
SF100-24 does not provide PoE output. Exclude this model when the purchase requires the switch itself to power connected endpoints through their Ethernet connections.

SF100-24 identifies the SF100 model with 24 10/100 Ethernet ports. The 24 segment denotes port count; the complete part number selects this configuration.
SF100-24 operates without configuration. Connect power and network cables; the unmanaged switch handles connections automatically rather than requiring an administrator to configure the switch.
SF100-24 is discontinued. Cisco ended sales of the 100 Series Unmanaged Switches on December 9, 2015, and support ended December 31, 2020.
ORM Systems offers SF100-24 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for every condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware coverage has ended; Cisco support ended December 31, 2020.
SF100D-16P has 16 ports, including eight PoE ports, while SF100-24 has 24 non-PoE ports. Both are discontinued; their historical configurations distinguish powered endpoints from higher non-PoE connection density.
SF100-24 uses internal AC power, while SF100D-16 uses external DC power and has fewer ports. Both are discontinued; spare selection should match the existing power arrangement and connection requirements.
SF100-24 provides 24 Fast Ethernet ports, while SF100-16 provides 16. Both are discontinued; the larger model accommodates more legacy connections, while the smaller model matches lower connection counts.
The Cisco 100 Series automatically prioritizes encoded traffic. For voice or video prioritization, disable flow control on connected devices where possible so pause frames do not block queued high-priority traffic.
SF100-24 supports rack installation using the supplied mounting brackets. The narrow enclosure also supports flat-surface or wall placement; keep side panels unobstructed and provide 50 mm clearance for airflow.
The SF100-24 24-port Fast Ethernet switch uses a power cord connected to its internal universal AC supply. Specify the required regional cord when preparing the order.
