SF100-16-EU is an unmanaged Layer 2 desktop switch with 16 fixed 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 ports for small-office wired networks. All connections are copper, with no dedicated uplink ports or PoE output; attached computers, printers, and access points need separate power. The Cisco 100 Series model provides local Ethernet connectivity without removable uplink cards or optical interfaces. An inter-switch connection uses one of the same Ethernet ports available for endpoints. Compared with the discontinued SF100D-16P, which supplies PoE on eight ports, this version carries data without delivering endpoint power. The Cisco Small Business switch operates without configuration, so the buying decision rests on connection speed, available ports, and how the attached devices receive power.

3.2 Gbps switching capacity provides the aggregate switching bandwidth for attached devices; 1.4 Mpps forwarding applies to 64-byte packets. Four hardware queues support priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling for priority-marked traffic. Store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being forwarded. SF100-16-EU automatically negotiates link speed and duplex, while MDI/MDI-X detection accommodates straight-through or crossover Ethernet cables. A universal internal supply accepts 100–240V AC, so installation requires a suitable power cord rather than an external DC adapter. System and link/activity indicators support local connection checks. The 0°C to 40°C operating range sets the ambient-temperature boundary for placement, while a Kensington security slot provides a physical locking point.
ORM Systems offers SF100-16-EU new sealed and certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, clean boot, and PSU status. New units include up to a 3-year extended warranty, certified refurbished units include up to 1 year, and returns cover 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Specify the required condition, mounting hardware, power cord, and quantity on the purchase order. Enterprise and volume orders can use PO purchasing, government Net-30 terms, and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA support across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When a branch office is choosing a shelf, wall position, or rack location, leave at least 50 mm of clearance around the enclosure and keep both side panels unobstructed. Before the purchase order, confirm that the selected mounting position accommodates the ventilation clearance and the required mounting hardware.
During staging for voice or video endpoints, Ethernet flow control can pause a port and hold back queued high-priority packets. Disable flow control on attached devices when using the switch's QoS prioritization. Some endpoints do not expose that setting, so check endpoint controls before finalizing the equipment list.
Gigabit links to attached devices
SF100-16-EU limits Ethernet connections to 100 Mbps. CBS110-16T-EU provides 16 Gigabit ports and is the later replacement after the discontinued SF110-16-EU.
Powered endpoints without separate supplies
SF100-16-EU supplies no PoE power. CBS110-16PP-EU is a 16-port Gigabit alternative with partial PoE; specify the required powered-port allocation before ordering.
Direct fiber connections between switches
SF100-16-EU has no SFP cages or removable uplink module bay. Fiber links cannot terminate directly on the switch, so optical aggregation requires different hardware.

SF100-16-EU is a 16-port Fast Ethernet switch in the Cisco 100 Series. SF100 identifies the model family, and 16 identifies its port count. The EU suffix distinguishes this ordering variant; the hardware provides 10/100 Mbps copper connectivity without PoE output.
SF100-16-EU operates without configuration because it is an unmanaged switch. Speed and duplex selection occur automatically, and automatic cable detection handles straight-through or crossover connections. Connect the network devices and AC power, then use the link/activity indicators to verify that physical connections are established.
SF100-16-EU is discontinued: Cisco sales ended on December 9, 2015, and manufacturer support ended on December 31, 2020. The original SF110-16-EU replacement is also discontinued. The later replacement path reaches CBS110-16T-EU, a 16-port unmanaged Gigabit switch rather than another Fast Ethernet model.
ORM Systems offers SF100-16-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns cover 30 days for every condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty ended with manufacturer support on December 31, 2020.
SF100D-16P supplies PoE on eight ports with a shared 64W budget, while SF100-16-EU supplies no endpoint power. Both have 16 Fast Ethernet ports. The discontinued PoE model served installations needing powered endpoints; the non-PoE model serves devices that already have separate power connections.
SF100-16-EU takes AC power through an internal supply, whereas SF100D-16 uses an external 12V DC, 1A adapter. Both provide 16 Fast Ethernet ports. The discontinued desktop variant used an external power adapter; this model avoids that separate adapter when an AC connection is available.
CBS110-16T-EU provides 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports, while the discontinued SF100-16-EU provides 16 Fast Ethernet ports limited to 100 Mbps. CBS110-16T-EU is the later replacement after SF110-16-EU. Retaining the older hardware preserves Fast Ethernet connectivity; the Gigabit replacement suits buyers requiring higher-speed endpoint links.
No, SF100-16-EU has only RJ-45 copper Ethernet ports and cannot accept an SFP transceiver or removable uplink card. An inter-switch connection uses an ordinary 10/100 Mbps port. Specify copper cabling for direct connections rather than adding optics to the purchase order.
The Cisco SF100-16 uses an internal universal AC supply accepting 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz. A power cord connects directly to the switch. An external DC adapter is not required, and the Ethernet ports do not provide power to attached endpoints.
Yes, the Cisco SF100-16 supports installation in a standard rack using mounting brackets, despite its desktop-width chassis. The original package includes mounting hardware, and wall or flat-surface placement is also supported. Confirm the required mounting hardware is included with the selected condition before ordering.
