SF100D-08P combines eight 10/100 RJ-45 connections with PoE on four ports in an unmanaged Layer 2 desktop switch. The copper ports connect endpoints and provide the connection back to the network; there is no separate uplink bank or optical port. Cisco 100 Series Unmanaged Switches provide small-business connectivity for computers, printers, IP phones, wireless access points, and video surveillance devices. Endpoint power is available only on the powered connections and requires compatible attached equipment. The discontinued SF100D-08 omits PoE while retaining eight Fast Ethernet connections. Within the Cisco Small Business family, this model addresses a legacy hardware requirement rather than a configurable access-switch purchase. Its desktop construction distinguishes it from full-width rack equipment, while its connection speeds remain limited to Fast Ethernet.

1.6 Gbps switching capacity defines the aggregate switching throughput available to attached devices. 1.2 Mpps forwarding handles 64-byte packets, providing a separate packet-processing limit when evaluating traffic composed of short frames. 33.12W of shared PoE power requires the combined endpoint load to remain within the available allocation; that amount is not reserved independently for each powered connection. Four hardware queues use priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling with 802.1p priority classification. Store-and-forward processing rejects damaged packets before forwarding them. Automatic MDI/MDI-X accommodates copper cable connections without requiring a crossover-cable selection step, while speed and duplex negotiation operate automatically. Jumbo-frame support reaches 9216 bytes, making frame-size compatibility with connected equipment an installation consideration. SF100D-08P operates from 0°C to 40°C, so ambient temperature constrains its placement. The traffic-handling functions run without administrator configuration; configurable routing policies are not part of this unmanaged hardware.
Order SF100D-08P in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, and specify the required quantity and supplied power adapter on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with power-on and POST, a clean boot, every port linking at rated speed, PoE output verified under load on every powered port, and the supplied adapter delivering rated output. New units carry up to a 3-year extended ORM warranty, certified refurbished units carry up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, ORM Systems accepts POs, offers Net-30 for government, and provides RMA with advance replacement.

An office adding powered phones, wireless access points, or cameras needs to verify that the attached devices use IEEE 802.3af PoE rather than a higher-power requirement. Record each device's requested power and whether local power is available, then confirm compatibility before specifying the endpoint list on the PO.
A branch adding copper network connections may need to reuse installed wiring rather than procure optical links. Category 5 or better UTP is the required cable type for the Fast Ethernet connections. Include patch cables and the destination power connection in the materials check before the switch quantity is approved.
More than four powered endpoints
SF100D-08P supplies PoE on only four connections. A requirement for additional powered endpoints exceeds this model's powered-port provision, regardless of how the shared power budget is allocated.
Gigabit Ethernet endpoint connections
SF100D-08P connections stop at 100 Mbps. CBS110-8PP-D-NA is the migration option with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, retaining an unmanaged desktop configuration with partial PoE.
Administrator-defined switch configuration requirements
SF100D-08P operates without configuration. Installations requiring administrator-defined switch settings need managed hardware; automatic traffic handling does not make this unmanaged model configurable.

SF100D-08P identifies an eight-port 10/100 PoE desktop switch in the Cisco 100 Series. The complete identifier distinguishes this Fast Ethernet desktop configuration from the family's Gigabit and non-PoE models. The 08 corresponds to eight Ethernet connections, while P identifies the PoE variant; only four connections supply endpoint power.
Cisco 100 Series Unmanaged Switches operate without configuration, and SF100D-08P follows that unmanaged model. Port speed and duplex selection occur automatically, alongside automatic cable detection. Installation consists of connecting power and network equipment rather than preparing administrator-defined switch settings for deployment.
SF100D-08P is discontinued, and its migration path leads to CBS110-8PP-D-NA. The earlier SF110D-08HP-NA replacement is also discontinued. A legacy replacement order and a migration order therefore name different hardware; specify the intended model rather than treating the intermediate replacement as a current-model purchase.
ORM Systems offers SF100D-08P new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco originally offered limited lifetime hardware coverage and 1-year power-supply coverage; those original terms do not establish current support eligibility.
SF100D-08P replaces the discontinued Cisco SD208P eight-port 10/100 switch with PoE and QoS. SD208P reached end of sale on December 5, 2013, and end of support on December 6, 2018. Identify the required hardware explicitly when replacing an older unit rather than assuming the predecessor remains orderable.
SF100D-08P provides four PoE-capable ports sharing a 33.12W power budget. The other four Ethernet connections do not supply endpoint power. Add the connected devices' power requirements when sizing the purchase; the available budget is allocated across powered connections rather than reserved separately in full for every endpoint.
SF100D-08P has no dedicated uplink ports or optical slots; an ordinary 10/100 connection provides the connection to the network. Using that connection leaves fewer ports for endpoints. Specify copper cabling rather than including an optical transceiver or removable uplink module in the order for this desktop switch.
SF100D-08P uses an external power adapter and accepts 48V DC at 1.25A. The adapter is a separate physical component rather than an internal redundant power module. Confirm the supplied adapter and destination power connection in the order, particularly when replacing an existing chassis without its original accessories.
SF100D-08P is a desktop switch measuring 160 mm wide, 30 mm high and 128.5 mm deep, with a weight of 0.545 kg. Desktop models also support wall mounting. Allow space for the external power connection and attached Ethernet cabling when checking the intended installation position.
SF100D-08P supplies PoE on four ports, whereas SF100D-08 provides eight data-only 10/100 ports. Both are discontinued desktop models. The PoE model addresses legacy replacements requiring endpoint power; the non-PoE sibling addresses legacy data-only replacements. Neither model should be treated as the current destination for a new-model migration.
SF100D-08P receives external 48V DC power, whereas SF100D-16P uses an internal 100–240V AC supply. Both are discontinued. The external-adapter model suits an existing desktop replacement arrangement; the internally powered sibling has sixteen connections rather than eight, so its chassis and connection count also differ.
CBS110-8PP-D-NA provides eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, whereas SF100D-08P provides eight 10/100 ports. Both configurations are unmanaged desktop switches with partial PoE. The newer model suits a migration requiring Gigabit connections; SF100D-08P addresses a legacy replacement requirement whose connections remain limited to Fast Ethernet.
