SF100D-05-UK is a Layer 2 unmanaged desktop switch with five 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 ports for data-only connections. The Cisco 100 Series serves small offices connecting computers, printers, copiers, and other wired equipment without manual configuration. This model has no dedicated uplink, optical interface, or removable uplink bay; connections to upstream equipment use its existing copper ports. The discontinued SF100D-08P-UK differs by providing four PoE-capable ports within an eight-port configuration. That distinction matters when matching a spare to an installation that relies on the switch to power endpoints. The five-port Fast Ethernet desktop configuration provides connectivity, not endpoint power or Gigabit access.

1 Gbps switching capacity supports local Ethernet forwarding across the fixed interfaces. 0.74 Mpps forwarding for 64-byte packets establishes the packet-handling figure for that frame size. Four hardware queues use priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling for automatic QoS, while store-and-forward processing prevents damaged packets from being passed onward. Head-of-line blocking prevention is also included. SF100D-05-UK accepts 12V DC at 500mA from an external adapter, so power must be available independently of the network cabling. Automatic MDI/MDI-X detection handles cable orientation, and ports negotiate speed and duplex automatically. The Cisco Small Business enclosure supports operation from 0°C to 40°C, setting the ambient temperature range for installation.
ORM Systems offers SF100D-05-UK new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, a clean boot, and the supplied adapter delivering rated output. Specify the condition, quantity, and required power connection on the PO. ORM's warranty is up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty and service ended December 31, 2020. Enterprise and volume orders are accepted by PO, with Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement.

When a small office adds wired equipment to existing copper cabling, cable suitability belongs on the purchasing checklist. Category 5 or better patch leads are required for the Ethernet connections. Identify the equipment locations, cable quantities, and required lengths before adding the patch leads to the PO.
When an installed base needs a ready spare rather than a network redesign, define the replacement workflow alongside the hardware line. ORM's regional stock and RMA coverage spans the UK, EU, US, and MEA. Specify the receiving region, required condition, and spare quantity before releasing the PO.
Gigabit Ethernet on every connection
The copper ports stop at 100 Mbps. CBS110-5T-D-UK is the current replacement at the end of the migration chain and provides five Gigabit Ethernet ports.
Direct fiber connectivity
The five interfaces are copper RJ-45 connections; no SFP cages or removable uplink bay are present, so a fiber termination cannot connect directly.
PoE output for connected endpoints
The copper Ethernet interfaces carry data only; connected phones, access points, or cameras cannot receive operating power from any switch port.

SF100D-05-UK identifies the 100 Series unmanaged five-port 10/100 desktop configuration. SF100D-05 is the hardware model name, and 05 corresponds to five ports; the complete identifier distinguishes this ordering form. Preserve the full part number when specifying a spare or reconciling an existing equipment inventory.
The Cisco 100 Series operates without configuration because these are unmanaged switches. Connect power and network cables to begin using the unit. Port speed and duplex negotiation happen automatically, so installation does not involve creating, saving, or applying a device configuration before ordinary Ethernet forwarding begins.
SF100D-05-UK is discontinued: end of sale was December 9, 2015, and Cisco support ended December 31, 2020. Manufacturer service is no longer available for the model. A purchase should therefore be treated as legacy hardware procurement rather than a Cisco-supported addition to the network.
ORM Systems offers SF100D-05-UK new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both conditions include 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty ended with manufacturer support on December 31, 2020.
SF100D-05-UK has five RJ-45 Ethernet ports supporting 10/100 Mbps connections. There are no additional dedicated uplinks, optical ports, or removable uplink modules. An upstream copper connection uses one of the existing interfaces, so include that connection when checking the required number of ports.
SF100D-05-UK uses an external power adapter and accepts 12V DC at 500mA. The adapter supplies the switch separately from its Ethernet cabling. Include the required adapter with the order and check the supplied power connection against the installation location before committing the purchase order.
The five-port 100 Series desktop switch requires Category 5 or better unshielded twisted-pair Ethernet cabling for its 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX connections. Automatic MDI/MDI-X detection handles cable orientation. Include the necessary patch leads with the hardware order rather than assuming existing cables will cover the installation.
SF100D-05-UK measures 27 mm high, 92.6 mm wide, and 90.6 mm deep, and weighs 0.22 kg. The desktop enclosure also supports wall mounting. Allow access for Ethernet cables and the external power connection when confirming where the unit will sit or be mounted.
SF100D-05-UK provides 1 Gbps switching capacity and 0.74 Mpps forwarding for 64-byte packets. These figures describe forwarding capability, not a faster Ethernet interface. Individual copper connections remain limited to 10/100 Mbps, so upstream equipment must support that interface rate when the switch is connected.
The Cisco 100 Series provides automatic QoS using four hardware queues with priority queuing and weighted round-robin scheduling. Traffic handling operates without manual configuration. Store-and-forward switching also prevents damaged packets from being forwarded, providing automatic packet handling rather than a user-configured traffic policy on this unmanaged model.
SF100D-08P-UK adds four PoE-capable ports across eight 10/100 connections, whereas SF100D-05-UK has five data-only ports. Both models are discontinued. The distinction matters when matching existing spares: an eight-port PoE installation needs endpoint power support that the five-port model cannot provide.
SF100-16-UK uses an internal 100–240V AC supply, while SF100D-05-UK takes 12V DC from an external adapter. The discontinued internal-AC model also has 16 Ethernet ports rather than five. Existing installations needing an internal-AC spare have a different power arrangement from installations using the externally powered desktop model.
CBS110-5T-D-UK provides five Gigabit Ethernet ports, while SF100D-05-UK provides five 10/100 ports. The replacement chain passes through SF110D-05-UK, which is also discontinued. The older model addresses legacy spare matching; the current replacement addresses purchases requiring the five-port Gigabit desktop configuration.
