SF250-24-K9-EU is a fanless, smart-managed Layer 2+ switch with 24 Fast Ethernet access ports and four fixed Gigabit uplinks. Two uplinks provide shared RJ-45/SFP connections, while two provide dedicated SFP connections; each shared connection uses either copper or fiber at a time. The full-width 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 250 Series and serves small-business networks connecting separately powered computers, phones and other Ethernet endpoints. This 24-port 10/100 smart switch keeps endpoint connections distinct from its faster upstream connections, an important distinction when matching an existing installation. The discontinued SF250-24P-K9-EU sibling adds PoE+ with a 185W shared power budget; this version does not deliver endpoint power.

12.8 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the available connections. 9.52 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packet size defines the packet-processing ceiling. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces for communication between locally configured networks. SF250-24-K9-EU uses 512 MB DRAM and 256 MB flash, while a dynamically shared 12 Mb packet buffer handles traffic across the ports. Eight hardware queues support traffic prioritization, with strict-priority and Weighted Round-Robin scheduling available. STP, RSTP and MSTP provide loop-control options, and LACP supports grouped Ethernet links. Administrators can use the browser interface for configuration and monitoring or the scriptable full and menu-based CLI for repeatable changes. HTTPS and SSH provide encrypted management access; SNMP supports integration with network monitoring systems. Hardware stacking is not available, so network-level management does not create a shared switching chassis.
ORM Systems offers SF250-24-K9-EU new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed links on every port, optics bay recognition and PSU status; firmware is verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify the condition, regional power cord and required transceivers on the purchase order; every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Enterprise and volume purchases can use accepted POs, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA coverage across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

An installed SF200-24 estate using SLM224GT-EU creates a replacement request tied to an existing configuration rather than a new bandwidth standard. SF250-24-K9-EU is a named migration model for that older switch. Separate legacy sparing from new-site purchasing, and confirm endpoint requirements before specifying the replacement quantity.
A rollout across several locations can require configuration files to be prepared centrally before hardware ships. DHCP options 66 and 67 support configuration-file provisioning, while SCP supports protected file transfers. Define the provisioning server, site-specific settings and staging procedure before placing a consolidated purchase order.
A troubleshooting or acceptance-testing purchase may need traffic capture without placing an analyzer inline. Port mirroring supports four source ports feeding one destination port, and VLAN mirroring offers a corresponding capture method. Reserve the analyzer connection and identify the traffic sources before specifying the staging configuration.
Gigabit connections for every endpoint
SF250-24-K9-EU limits its access connections to 10/100 Mbps. C1200-24T-4G provides 24 Gigabit access ports and four Gigabit SFP uplinks for a current migration purchase.
Power delivery to attached endpoints
SF250-24-K9-EU does not supply PoE. C1200-24P-4G is a current migration option with powered access ports, also changing the access speed to Gigabit Ethernet.
10G uplinks to distribution
SF250-24-K9-EU has Gigabit uplinks rather than 10G connections. C1200-24T-4X provides four 10G SFP+ uplinks and also changes the 24 access ports to Gigabit Ethernet.

SF250-24-K9-EU identifies a Cisco 250 Series Fast Ethernet smart switch with 24 access ports. SF250 identifies the Fast Ethernet model family, 24 identifies the access-port count, and EU is the regional ordering suffix covering the European Union and additional listed markets. Preserve the complete identifier when ordering.
Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches support an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, full or menu-based CLI, SSH, Telnet and SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3. Smart Network Application and an embedded FindIT Network Probe provide network-level functions. FindIT Network Manager and Cisco Active Advisor are additional legacy integration paths.
SF250-24-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022, and its last date of Cisco support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance releases ended July 30, 2023. Purchases therefore need to distinguish remaining hardware availability from the remaining period of eligible Cisco service.
ORM Systems offers SF250-24-K9-EU new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco’s separate limited lifetime hardware warranty includes a 1-year power-supply limit and ends with Cisco service on July 31, 2027, subject to eligibility.
SF250-24-K9-EU is a named replacement for SLM224GT-EU, the SF200-24 24-port 10/100 smart switch. That relationship supports identifying a migration option for an existing installation, not assuming identical configuration behavior. The replacement model itself is discontinued, so legacy sparing and a new purchasing standard are separate decisions.
SF250-24P-K9-EU provides 24 PoE+ access ports and a 185W shared power budget, while SF250-24-K9-EU supplies no endpoint power. Both models are discontinued. The powered version matches existing PoE-dependent installations; the non-PoE version matches separately powered endpoints and like-for-like spare requirements in an established network.
SF250-48-K9-EU has 48 10/100 access ports, compared with 24 on SF250-24-K9-EU. Both retain two Gigabit copper/SFP combo connections and two dedicated Gigabit SFP connections. These discontinued models address different legacy connection counts: the larger unit serves denser installations, while the smaller unit matches an existing 24-port requirement.
C1200-24T-4G provides 24 Gigabit access ports, whereas SF250-24-K9-EU provides 24 10/100 access ports. C1200-24T-4G is the current migration endpoint through the discontinued CBS250-24T-4G-EU. The newer model suits a Gigabit purchasing standard; the older model addresses legacy matching and spare requirements rather than higher endpoint bandwidth.
SF250-24-K9-EU can use four Gigabit fiber connections through two dedicated SFP slots and two SFP sides of combo connections. Each combo connection shares its logical port with an RJ-45 connector, so copper and fiber cannot operate simultaneously on that connection. Select compatible transceivers to match the installed fiber.
Yes, SF250-24-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing with 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces, allowing communication between locally configured networks. Its routing capability places it in the Layer 2+ category rather than a dynamic-routing access role. Size the required routes and interfaces before specifying an inter-VLAN configuration.
No, SF250-24-K9-EU-RF is Cisco-remanufactured hardware, while ORM certified refurbished describes ORM’s inspection and bench-testing process. The two condition descriptions are not interchangeable. Specify the required condition explicitly on the purchase order, and do not treat the RF identifier as another name for an ORM-refurbished unit.
