SF250-24P-K9-EU is a Layer 2+ smart-managed switch with 24 Fast Ethernet PoE+ access ports and fixed Gigabit uplinks. Two dedicated SFP slots sit alongside two copper/SFP combo ports, allowing four simultaneous uplink connections; each combo port activates either its copper connection or its SFP slot. The Rack-Mount 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches family, positioned for small-business networks connecting computers, IP phones, cameras and wireless access points. Access links operate at 10/100 Mbps rather than Gigabit speed, an important distinction when retaining existing endpoint infrastructure. The discontinued SF250-24-K9-EU has the same access-port count but omits PoE, separating externally powered endpoint installations from deployments that require power over the network cable.

12.8 Gbps switching capacity provides nonblocking forwarding across the installed interfaces. 9.52 Mpps forwarding performance applies to 64-byte packets, while the shared 185W PoE budget requires endpoint demand to remain within the switch-wide allocation. 32 static IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces support limited inter-network forwarding rather than dynamic routing. SF250-24P-K9-EU combines 512 MB of memory with 256 MB of flash for its configuration and software environment. The SF250-24P also shares a 12 Mb packet buffer across its ports and supports an 8000-entry MAC table. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide spanning-tree control, and LACP supports aggregated links. HTTP/HTTPS browser access and SSH provide remote administration paths. Two fans cool the chassis across its 0°C to 50°C operating range. 238W worst-case consumption at 110V establishes the maximum electrical load to allow for when sizing the AC feed; the internal supply accepts 100-240V AC.
ORM offers new sealed units with up to 3-year extended warranty and certified refurbished units with up to 1-year warranty; every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply, while Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by July 31, 2027, subject to eligibility. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on, POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links, PoE output under load, optics bay recognition, PSU status and fan status, with firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. Specify SF250-24P-K9-EU, quantity, condition and delivery region on the purchase order. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement, with regional stock and RMA across the UK, EU, US and MEA.

When a branch refresh includes IP phones, automatic voice VLAN assignment and eight hardware queues are configuration requirements to evaluate. Cisco Discovery Protocol and LLDP-MED identify attached endpoints for Auto Smartports. Specify the phone discovery method, voice VLAN policy and QoS settings before approving the PO.
When multiple sites need a common configuration, text-editable configuration files and SCP file download support a repeatable staging process. CLI privilege levels 1, 7 and 15 separate administrator access. Prepare the configuration file, assign operator privileges and confirm the transfer method before ordering the rollout quantity.
When a lab or replacement-switch acceptance process requires packet capture, port mirroring supports four source ports feeding one destination port. VLAN mirroring also accepts four source VLANs. Reserve the analyzer connection and identify the source traffic before finalizing the staging configuration and purchase order.
Gigabit speed on endpoint connections
Access ports stop at 100 Mbps. C1200-24P-4G retains 24 powered access ports but provides Gigabit Ethernet, following the migration chain through discontinued CBS250-24P-4G-EU.
Full PoE+ power on every port
The shared 185W allocation cannot supply 30W simultaneously to all 24 powered ports. Endpoint power requirements must fit the aggregate budget, not just the per-port limit.
More than 32 static IPv4 routes
IPv4 routing supports 32 static routes and 16 IP interfaces. Networks requiring larger routing tables exceed these limits and need a different routing device.

SF250-24P-K9-EU identifies the SF250 Fast Ethernet smart switch with 24 PoE+ access ports and the EU regional ordering suffix. SF250 names the model family, 24 gives the access-port count, and P distinguishes the powered model. Use the complete K9-EU ending when specifying the regional order.
Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches support an HTTP/HTTPS web UI, full or menu-based CLI over SSH/Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, Cisco FindIT Network Manager with an embedded FindIT Network Probe, Cisco Active Advisor and Cisco Network Plug and Play.
SF250-24P-K9-EU provides a shared 185W PoE budget across 24 powered access ports, with a 30W maximum on an individual port. Every port cannot draw that maximum simultaneously: 24 ports at 30W would require 720W. Size the order against aggregate endpoint demand as well as individual device requirements.
SF250-24P-K9-EU has four Gigabit uplinks: two dedicated SFP ports and two copper/SFP combo ports. Each combo port uses either its RJ-45 connection or its SFP slot, so those connections cannot operate simultaneously. Fiber orders require compatible transceivers, such as MGBSX1 for multimode or MGBLX1 for single-mode links.
SF250-24P-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing with 32 static routes and 16 IP interfaces. Layer 3 interfaces can be configured on a physical port, link aggregation group, VLAN interface or loopback interface. The switch therefore fits limited static-routing requirements rather than a deployment dependent on dynamic route exchange.
The SF250-24P fits a standard equipment rack with its 440 mm-wide, 44 mm-high chassis and included mounting kit. Depth is 257 mm and weight is 4.1 kg. Allow space for the power connection and network cabling, and account for fan-cooled operation when selecting the installation location.
SF250-24P-K9-EU reached end of sale on July 30, 2022, with the last date of support set for July 31, 2027. Software maintenance releases ended on July 30, 2023. Remaining Cisco service eligibility depends on applicable contract or warranty entitlements and cannot extend beyond the final support date.
SF250-24P-K9-EU replaces SLM224PT-EU, the SF200-24P 24-port 10/100 PoE smart switch. SF250-24P-K9-EU is itself discontinued, so an existing SF200 replacement requirement should also account for its remaining support window. The forward migration chain through discontinued CBS250-24P-4G-EU reaches C1200-24P-4G for a current Gigabit-access alternative.
ORM Systems offers SF250-24P-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by July 31, 2027, subject to eligibility. Every condition includes 30-day returns; terms apply.
SF250-24P-K9-EU supplies PoE+ on its 24 Fast Ethernet access ports, whereas SF250-24-K9-EU does not supply endpoint power. Both models are discontinued. The powered model addresses existing phones, cameras or access points requiring Ethernet-delivered power; the non-PoE model addresses installations where endpoint power is supplied separately.
SF250-48HP-K9-EU has 48 Fast Ethernet access ports, compared with 24 on SF250-24P-K9-EU. Both switches are discontinued. The 48-port model addresses an existing higher-density wiring requirement, while the 24-port model fits a smaller connection count. Establish the required active endpoint count before matching a replacement to either chassis.
C1200-24P-4G provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet access ports, while SF250-24P-K9-EU provides 24 Fast Ethernet access ports. The current migration chain reaches C1200-24P-4G through discontinued CBS250-24P-4G-EU. Choose the newer model for Gigabit endpoints; retain the older model only where 100 Mbps access remains an accepted requirement.
