SF250-48HP-K9-NA connects powered endpoints through 48 Fast Ethernet PoE+ access ports, with fixed Gigabit uplinks for upstream connections. Two dedicated SFP ports and two copper/SFP combo interfaces provide four uplink connections; each combo interface uses either copper or fiber, not both simultaneously. The rack-mount 1U chassis belongs to the Cisco 250 Series Smart Switches family for small-business networking. Static routing places this smart-managed switch in the Layer 2+ category. The discontinued SF250-48-K9-NA retains the same access-port density without PoE, distinguishing an existing unpowered deployment from a powered one.

17.6 Gbps switching capacity and 13.1 Mpps forwarding performance provide wire-speed switching across the built-in interfaces. A dynamically shared 24 Mb packet buffer accommodates traffic across ports rather than reserving that capacity for each interface. SF250-48HP uses 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for its embedded software and configuration. STP, RSTP, MSTP and LACP support loop control and link aggregation. Static IPv4 routing supports 32 routes and 16 IP interfaces, setting the boundary for routed configurations. 265.2W maximum consumption at 110V AC includes powered-endpoint operation and informs upstream electrical sizing.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA is available new sealed or certified refurbished; specify the condition and quantity on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with every port linked at rated speed, PoE output verified under load on every powered port, optics bay recognition checked, firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco’s limited lifetime coverage ends July 31, 2027. POs are accepted, government orders qualify for Net-30, and enterprise or volume orders can include RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA regions.

Replaces | SLM248PT-NA / End of sale May 10, 2018. |
Lifecycle Status | End of sale July 30, 2022. |
When replacing an SF200-48P ordered as SLM248PT-NA, retain the full legacy PID in the migration record. That predecessor reached end of sale on May 10, 2018. Before the PO, confirm the installed endpoint requirements and the intended replacement quantity.
During lab staging, a capture requirement can use port mirroring from four source ports to one destination port. Keep the capture connection separate from the links under examination. Before ordering, specify the monitoring connection and identify which interfaces must participate in the test.
Gigabit connections to every endpoint
The 48 access ports operate at 10/100 Mbps. Gigabit connectivity is confined to the uplink interfaces rather than the powered endpoint ports.
Silent fanless equipment operation
The chassis uses two fans rather than fanless cooling. Acoustic noise reaches 52.7 dB at 50°C, which requires consideration when selecting an installation location.

SF250-48HP-K9-NA identifies the Cisco 250 family’s 48-port Fast Ethernet PoE+ model with a 195W budget. The SF250-48HP model designation distinguishes that configuration, while NA selects the regional ordering variant covering the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and other Latin American markets.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA supports browser management over HTTP/HTTPS, Textview CLI over SSH or Telnet, SNMP and Smart Network Application. Additional management paths include FindIT Network Manager, the embedded FindIT Network Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, Cisco Active Advisor and Network Plug and Play with PnP Connect.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA is discontinued: end of sale was July 30, 2022, and the last date of support is July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. Its replacement, CBS250-48PP-4G-NA, is also discontinued, with no current successor available for that replacement line.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA is offered new sealed or certified refurbished. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units; both have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco’s limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by its last support date of July 31, 2027.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA replaces SLM248PT-NA, the regional PID for the SF200-48P 48-port 10/100 PoE Smart Switch. SLM248PT-NA reached end of sale on May 10, 2018. Retain the complete predecessor PID when matching an installed unit rather than relying only on its model name.
Cisco SF250-48HP provides a shared 195W PoE budget across 48 powered ports, with a maximum of 30W on an individual port. The shared budget prevents every port from drawing its individual maximum simultaneously. Size the combined endpoint demand rather than multiplying available port count by maximum per-port output.
Cisco SF250-48HP has two dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks and two Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks. Each combo connection activates either its copper interface or its SFP interface, not both. These are fixed uplink interfaces, so installing a transceiver does not add a removable uplink card.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA supplies PoE+ to its access ports, whereas SF250-48-K9-NA supplies no endpoint power. Both models are discontinued. The distinction matters when matching existing equipment: the HP model serves powered endpoints, while the non-PoE model matches connections whose devices receive power elsewhere.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA has 48 Fast Ethernet access ports, while SF250-24P-K9-NA has 24. Both models are discontinued. The higher-density model matches an existing requirement for more endpoint connections in one chassis; the 24-port model matches an installed configuration requiring fewer connections.
SF250-48HP-K9-NA has Gigabit uplinks, while SG250X-48P-K9-NA has four 10 Gigabit uplinks comprising two copper interfaces and two SFP+ interfaces. Both models are discontinued. The former matches existing Gigabit upstream connections; the latter matches existing installations requiring the faster uplink interfaces.
